My child enjoyed the dance classes, however, the summer schedule did not permit us to continue. I attempted to cancel my daughter's classes by phone, which is how I originally enrolled her. I made 6 phone calls (including voicemails) and sent 4 delivered text messages, yet I never received a single response. Meanwhile, my credit card continued to be charged. I ultimately had to block CY Danceworks from charging my card and file a dispute. This level of communication is simply not professional, and I'm very disappointed with how this was handled. read more

My husband reached out to CY Danceworks to see if it was possible to book the studio for an hour in order to practice our wedding dance. While he handled all the coordination, it didn't seem difficult for him. The person he worked with was responsive and we were able to go in and use the studio for an hour before a class started. The mirrors were clean, their sound system was easy to use, and we felt accomplished at the end of the hour. Parking is all along the streets and timed, but no need to pay so that was nice. read more

My first experience dancing started in high school when I was told I could take a Jazz class instead of PE. Dance became my passion that I carried with me through college when I learn fan dancing and dabbled in KPop. Life got busy and I stopped dancing until I found this studio almost two years ago. Now on my third season at CY, I can't recommend this studio enough! I've taken classes with multiple dance teachers here, each one as supportive as the next. I have been challenged by learning different dance techniques but supported every step of the way. My classes with Kito, Chloe, Oche, and Anthony have all helped shape me into a better dancer and also rejuvenated my love for dance. I love that CY offers classes for all ages and celebrates your hard work with an optional end of season recital. Chantelle is an incredible owner who takes stride in gathering and responding to feedback. She loves to support other businesses as can be seen in her constant collaborations. I wish I could give negative stars. Total ripoff!! My son has not attended a class since October 2024. Yet I'm still being charged every month. $140 on the 4th of every month. I have called left messages, I have even text the owners personal phone to ask her to please stop charging me multiple times! Chantelle stop charging me for a class my son does not attend! read more

My daughter just finished her third season here, two years on competition team. Community, confidence, character and tons of fun are the words that best describe what my daughter has gotten from her time at CY. She has grown tremendously in her confidence thanks to the incredibly supportive environment. The kids really cheer one another on and there is a ton of camaraderie. There is an emphasis on dedication, following your passion, commitment, gratitude, growth mindset and resilience. The kids work hard and it shows in the way their dance skills develop over the year(s) but my daughter has gained much more than I could have ever imagined from the wonderful culture at CY. I was here to check out the new Supersonic Saturday Session w/ Robyn. I didn't really know what to expect but I left with new friends and good vibes. AMBIANCE: Surroundings - It's on a small town strip of the city. It seems like some days the space may be popping, some not but surrounding by every day errand stores, clothing spots, or restaurants. The studio is pretty vibrant with fresh floors, nerdy superhero art. There's a couch in the front with scented candles and a water station. Parking - Metered parking but it was free for the weekend. Customer Service - Robyn was a great host! TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. I enjoyed my time here. The people were fun, music was pleasant, and experience was memorable. Super dope studio. We come here Tuesday nights 9:30p-11:00p to practice. Great vibes, I just hope they fix that floor on the in the middle. Some of the slots are loose so the wood isn't completely fitted. read more

I've been in search for a legit hiphop studio for a long time and I've never been impressed until I walked into than this one! Chantelle's (the owner and teacher) dedication to her craft, her students and her studio is incomparable. She clearly loves what she does and this passion flows out to all her students. I have 4 kids who have no dance bones in their bodies, we are not a musical family but I wanted them to try something new and learn to appreciate dance. They were all hesitant before the first class started and thought I was ridiculous for asking them to do this. But after the trial, they were immediately hooked. They couldn't wait to go back next week! I signed up right there and then and my 10 year invited his buddy to join the next week. He too signed up right away! I also enrolled myself in an adult class and boy was I in for a treat. The experience was both challenging and exhilarating! We only started February but we are all set to enroll for an entire school year beginning this fall. :) we can't wait! My kids and I have only taken Chantelle and Jeric's class so I can only speak for those teachers but based on the performances at the recital, I think all the teachers are brilliant and exceptional. :) we are enrolling in a couple of different teachers classes due to scheduling but I'm confident my children will be in great hands. if you are looking for a dance studio to call home, THIS IS IT!!! This looks primarily like a hip hop studio but my daughter is taking contemporary with Amanda and she is very happy. Amanda is a skilled talented dance and my daughter feels challenged and learning new moves. Classes are reasonably priced. I would recommend this studio. read more

I have never visited this studio, so this review is for the poor customer service. I won one month at a school auction and attempted to redeem it ( btw, I paid $65 for it which was suppose to go to the school that the owner donated it to). I attempted to reach the owner by email and voice mail several times but to no avail. Very disheartening that this was "donated" and the the owner didn't make good with her donation. It doesn't make one want to go to this studio for lack of customer service and a sense of dishonesty. read more

This is my kids second year attending CY Danceworks and we absolutely love it! My kids love it! The teachers go over all the dance moves step by step and make sure every kid gets it right. They are patient, professional and they make it very fun! We have dealt with Chantelle and Ben and we are very happy with them! I like their studio set up and they are taking every single precaution with this pandemic we are all dealing with and Beyond! They sanitize the entire studio in between classes ( they mop, they sanitize) they make sure the kids get take their temp at the door, they sanitize their hands and, and they sanitize the kids shoes before entering the studio floor! Plenty of ventilation, amazing. We totally feel comfortable and confident acing our kids there! Keep up the great work guys! I recommend to everyone!!! read more

The great place to start learning dancing, especially hiphop. There are a lot of classes for age 5 to adults. I started learning hiphop when I was 21 there and within two years, I compete/perform at one of the biggest competitions/events in the world because they gave me so many opportunities to train and perform. All teachers there are not only passionate about teaching dancing but they are also passionate about creating the best environment and community that everyone can grow as a dancer as well as a person no matter what ages you are and what level you are. I learned a lot of things like social skills, time management, and leadership besides dancing there. I feel so lucky that there are such an amazing studio like CY Danceworks in peninsula. What can I say about Chantelle? She's been dancing and choreographing since we were in high school. She's passionate, knowledgeable and patient. She is great at what she does and she's fair. We looked around a bit for a good hip hop instructor. Was lead to Chantelle from another student and her Dad. New studio is awesome, Chantelle is great with the kids and her choreography is exceptional. My 8 yr old son is loving dance. At my Office Holiday party he was reluctant to get out on the dance floor, but after some convincing become the center of attention! Great teachers who care a lot about their students' growth and improvement. I really appreciate that this atmosphere is a lot more relaxed and does not give the "dance moms" sort of vibe which can be exampled by the casualness of the teachers, the comic themed wall decorations, and the overall look of the studio.
