Thanks to Daniel our first dance was a success! We went from not knowing a single thing about dancing to being able to do a first dance to the full song! You wont regret taking his classes. It was a joy to learn from him and we highly recommend him for how patience he was when he taught us on Friday nights.

If you want the most impressive and memorable first dance then definitely go to Daniel for lessons. In the span of 5 weeks we went from not knowing how to dance at all to having a perfectly choreographed first dance that got tons of compliments from our wedding guests. If you're considering just learning from youtube videos - don't. Trust me getting lessons will save you a ton of time and frustration. Daniel was able to spot and fix all the little things we were doing wrong and knew exactly what to point out to make sure you look good for the audience and for the pictures. He clearly has a ton of experience not just dancing but also being a teacher, because he knows how to explain and demonstrate things in ways that make sense to anyone. The 5 lessons were all super enjoyable because of how nice and funny Daniel is. We were nervous about taking lessons but after the first lesson we really looked forward to the next lessons. We will be recommending Daniel to all of our engaged friends looking to do something special for their first dance.

We hired Daniel frantically 2 weeks before our wedding to take us from 0 to 100 for our first dance. Each session was enjoyable and fun, and Daniel did a great job tailoring the routine to our comfort level & music, and breaking the steps down into easy pieces. He is funny, personable, and really knows his stuff! We even changed our song after the 1st lesson, and he updated the routine to fit it. The outcome? It wasn't perfect execution (but to no fault of Daniel's), but we wowed our wedding guests with our elaborate dance moves. And this is really saying something, as my husband has 2 left feet! Please don't hesitate to work privately with Daniel or take one of his group dance classes! We are looking forward to dancing more with him :)

One of my favorite things about my wedding was our first dance not only for the beautiful pictures and performance that surprised our guest, but for the dance lessons. During that period of time my husband and I were able to have fun during our wedding preparation. Daniel Singer, was just so nice and he got us to dance in a way I never Imagined! With zero dance experience and no confidence to dance in public, he made it look easy! He accommodated our schedule (late evenings) and worked with us understanding our level of skill ;) Thank you Daniel for a beautiful first dance choreography! Everyone loved it and we still get comments about the dance... I guess no one knew we were such a good dancers LOL

Daniel worked with us over 4 lessons to get us ready for our first dance. He was flexible and it was easy to work around our schedules to find time. The lessons themselves were great and from a beginner's perspective, Daniel made the choreography easy to pick up and could demonstrate moves for either partner. He also helped us choose our music, provided a shorter mix of it, and video-taped our last session so we could brush up after our lessons had ended. He even offered to let us perform for his weekly Thursday night Adult dancing class, but I was too busy to attend. Overall would recommend if you're looking to pick up some sweet moves for any event.

My wife and I had zero dance experience, but with Daniel's lessons we were able to wow ourselves and our guests with our first dance at our wedding! We did five lessons with Daniel over six weeks, practicing 30 minutes almost every day in between lessons. Daniel is an excellent teacher and had us improving every week, adding new parts to the dance to learn and practice. Our first dance song is just over 4 minutes which is quite long, but Daniel was able to construct and iterate on the dance routine based on what he thinks would look good and what we were comfortable with doing. I wanted Daniel to be critical of us so we could do our best and he was always pointing out areas of improvement and showing us how to do them. We could not have asked for a better instructor!

My husband and I found Daniel several months prior to our wedding and we couldn't have found a better dance teacher! Daniel is patient, flexible, and has a great sense of humor. He worked with us to match our dance with the song we wanted to use and he was a very helpful coach and cheerleader as we spent hours trying to perfect every step. He taught us some great moves that looked great on camera and paid attention to every detail during our lessons. Daniel notices things about dances that the average person wouldn't think about, including the idea that for a wedding dance both people have to adjust for high heels and dress poofiness! He has a mock skirt to practice in, which was great in helping my husband understand the distance he would have to keep. Daniel worked with us to find just the right lift and spin for my dress type (while keeping my dress a secret from my husband). My husband is a little self-conscious about dancing in front of people and Daniel is such a kind man and helped make my husband and I both feel at ease right off the bat. Of course, I can't leave a review without mentioning what an amazing dancer Daniel himself is! He is quick, has a knack for remembering small details about choreography from week to week, and is so much fun to dance with. Daniel also did a great job setting our expectations for how the day would actually go, including where we should expect cheers from the crowd and how the crowd will disappear when we are in the moment together. We received a ton of compliments and applause at the wedding during our dance, but we didn't even notice the applause until we saw the videos. Daniel was right on! Even my self-conscious husband had all of his fears subside as we entered the dance floor! That 3 minutes of our wedding day was the only time in the hustle and bustle of it all where we felt like it was just us two together while the world around us melted away. After our wedding, we continued to go to Daniel's weekly group dance lessons and loved every second of it. After COVID we will be returning to Daniel's classes and we absolutely cannot wait!

Dance became my passion that I carried with me through college when I learn fan dancing and dabbled in KPop. Life got busy and I stopped dancing until I found this studio almost two years ago. Now on my third season at CY, I can't recommend this studio enough! I've taken classes with multiple dance teachers here, each one as supportive as the next. I have been challenged by learning different dance techniques but supported every step of the way. My classes with Kito, Chloe, Oche, and Anthony have all helped shape me into a better dancer and also rejuvenated my love for dance. I love that CY offers classes for all ages and celebrates your hard work with an optional end of season recital. Chantelle is an incredible owner who takes stride in gathering and responding to feedback. She loves to support other businesses as can be seen in her constant collaborations. I am also so grateful for having the opportunity for her to visit my school and read to my students not once but TWICE!

She's a very timid kid who's normally very clingy to me. Since her first session she felt comfortable and ready to participate and looks forward to going back each week. She's 3.5 for reference. I do have two cons: The first: parking. It's not really within their control and there are options. The small parking lot and garage are very narrow but not a deal breaker. We prefer to park on El Camino (which has its own challenges with how busy the road is). It's close to HWY 92 which is a plus for us. The second: there are huge windows to watch your child dance/participate yet parents grab chairs and pull it up to directly in front of the glass which makes it harder for everyone else to watch. And those same parents that put their chair against the glass (blocking everyone else's view) end up on their phone not even watching. I wish the school would put up a sign and remind parents to sit further away so everyone can watch.

It's a nice way to introduce different styles of dance to younger kiddos before committing to a specific style of dance. They do two recitals a year - one in December and one in June. I will say, this is definitely not a conventional dance class. It's more play, movement with props and toys. But my toddler LOVES it. I plan to keep her in Small Fry until she turns 5. I will then transition her to PCPA, which is the sister program to Small Fry for older kids.
