Old screen doors
Brian F.

Yea my screen doors are in. First Carl came out did a measurement and sent a quote over that same night he is fast and responsive. I placed my deposit and in 3 or 4 days he called me back to schedule the install. The installer was on time and did a wonderful job and explained how everything works. After the work was complete he cleaned everything up very professional pictures added before and after. Info I did get 3 quotes and all were about the same price I just got a good feeling about Carl and his team. HomeDepot screen doors I looked at and thank god I didn't get them they are garbage compared to these

When I called Carl, he picked up immediately, and was very polite on the phone. He gave me a quote for 2 screen doors and took his time to explain that he would have to measure first and that it would take 10 days to order the doors and get them delivered. He lied. It took 7 days. Carl is one of the most down-to-earth contractors I've met. He is also extremely hilarious. He talked a lot about his family, and even gave advice about other things, like how expensive ice hockey is. He was a pleasure to have around the house. From a business aspect, Carl was extremely organized, and up-to-date because his Galaxy S3 has a mobile credit card app that he used to make the transaction. He installed two doors in about 2 hours. He installed them with no problems or concerns, like a man who has installed these a million times. Now the most important aspect of reviewing a screen door company: The doors. With his recommendation, I went with the cape cod screen doors. The French door looking style. Everyone has probably seen the horrible looking screen doors at Home Depot. These doors that are on display are bent out of shape and ugly. Just like the doors you see in the hood. I did not want these doors, so that's why I went onto Yelp. You're probably reading my review right now because you don't want those ugly Home Depot doors either. I chose white screen doors to match my house's exterior trim and doors. The finish was slightly glossy and smooth. The exterior handle was a pull-type latch that opened as you pulled the door handle. The interior button was your typical push-button with lock. They definitely look a lot nicer than those Home Depot doors. The door closer worked fine and was also white with a glossy smooth finish, which matched the door. The screen doors definitely look and feel like they will last, but only time can tell.

The old door catch was removed and the hole and damaged puttied up. Some sanding and paint and it's gone!

Called them for a quote and then an installation. The whole process took about 10 days, from the initial call, to the estimate, to the installation. They brought a small sample door for the estimate so I could see the quality of the workmanship on the doors. It's much heavier guage than what you find in the home improvement stores. Everything was as promised. The installation is professional and a great fit. They puttied up the old latch holes and added molding to fill in the door frame so the door fits nice and snug wiht no gaps. I think the price is spot on for the quality of the door and the installation. Took about 2 hours from start to finish to do the install. I'd use these guys again with no hesitation.

YAY for final screen door!

The pricing was very fair and competitive, which made the decision even easier. Mike, the owner, was honest, transparent, and extremely helpful every step of the way. We met with Mike (the owner) at his showroom who went through every option and provided clear details for the products we had to choose as well as the process from start to finish. We went with Mike's product recommdation, Anlin Windows, based on those details which was clearly the right choice. Mitch (the ops manager/job forman) came to our home at the appointed time, took the measurements and advised what we needed to do to assist in the installation process which was basically moving any large objects away from the windows, both inside and out. In fact, we were contacted every step of the way from the owners, office staff and field staff and advised of the progress of our order. We were notified of the windows arrival at thier warehouse 6 weeks later and set up an installation date. JC and Willy arrived on time and got started right away after thanking me for clearing thier work areas as thoroughly as I did after the intial walk through. They did an amazing job. They were courteous, clean, respectul, and completely professional in every way. They had every window plus a very large slider installed before the end of the day and once again complimented and thanked me making their work areas accessible and easy to work in. They also left every area they worked in cleaned up as if they were never there. A rarety these days! JC then provided me with some tips specfic to any potential screen door squeeks and advised me to apply something on the screen to prevent any accicdents in the form of me or anyone else walking through that screen. I used a couple of thin strips of duct tape. The windows/screens are obviously new and almost transparent. Especially after living with the previous extruded metal OG windows for as long as we did. He showed me the features of each window and door, explained how the locks worked on each and answered any questions I had. There was minor 1 hiccup. During the unpacking process of the windows, JC pointed out to me that 1 of windows would not be able to be installed as it arrived broken. Not the window itself but the top right corner of the exterior vinyl overlap. The damage was not seen at the warehouse as it was under the protective card board/plastic and must have happened during the shipping process from the factory. I know from experience these things happen and it is how they are reacted to that seperates the good companies from the bad. OCWE took care of it without hesitation and insisted I deduct $500 from the intial installation balance until the replacment was installed and the job completely finished. The replacement was rush ordered. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get it. I got a call extactly 2 weeks later and we set up the installation appointment. The final window was just installed in under 30 minutes by JC and Willy as I had requested they come back for the aformentioned reasons. My wife and I could not be more pleased and satisfied with the choices we made specific to the company, product, pricing and professionalism of every team, top down from sales, ops and installation. We would do it again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend OCWE for window/slider upgrades in every way and when you do, make sure you specifically request JC and Willy to install them. You will not be sorry!

I called to see ask about my windows since the seal on the inside of our double panel window was coming off. I thought I would need to get new windows but Mike said all I needed to do was to get new glass. He came to give me to estimate and do the measurements. Afterwards, the glass order is placed and another schedule is needed to do the work. Altogether, we got 5 windows repair. On the day of, Mike even fixed our sliding door! The door has been so hard to open over the past 18 years. He knew exactly what was wrong with it and fixed it right then there. The difference from before and after is literally night and day. The final result was exactly what I envisioned, if not better. The quality of their work impressed me so much that I brought them back to redo my kitchen cabinet fronts and convert them to glass as well. Once again, they delivered flawlessly. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall execution were top-notch. Throughout the entire process, Mike was communicative, professional, and very easy to work with. He was also fair and competitive with pricing, which made the experience even better. It's hard to find people who consistently deliver at this level, and Mike exceeded expectations every time. I highly recommend him and his team--you won't be disappointed.

Paul's Windows

Montecito Heights

(This review includes a response to the business owner's reply)…read more I had a deeply disappointing experience with Paul's Windows, and I want to share it so that other homeowners know what to expect before working with this company. I reached out for a small bedroom window replacement and had one key requirement: that the new window, once installed, provide a minimum clear opening height of 13 inches. The sales associate, Art, confirmed via text that the manufacturer (Crystal Pacific) said it would: 13.1875", in fact. That was fine by me. But when I asked for that specification to be confirmed in the contract, in writing, Art refused. Let me be clear: I wasn't asking for a personal warranty on the product. I simply wanted confirmation that the installed window, as ordered and managed by Paul's Windows, would meet the functional requirement I had clearly communicated. Art repeatedly deflected, referring to "what the manufacturer said," but was unwilling to take responsibility for the result. When I asked for accountability, he became dismissive and eventually walked away from the job. I contacted Paul directly, hoping for a more professional response. Instead, I received a generic brush-off and a claim that the window wouldn't meet the specs, which contradicts what their own sales associate had already confirmed. Worse, Paul didn't acknowledge or engage with any of the valid concerns I raised around basic customer service, transparency, or professional responsibility. Ultimately, I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was hiring a company to manage a job and deliver a specific result. If something went wrong, say, the manufacturer provided a window that didn't meet the spec, it would be on the contractor to resolve it, not on me to go chase down the supplier. That's what any responsible company would do. But Paul's Windows made it clear they don't see it that way. If you're okay with vague communication, contractors who won't stand behind their own work, and potentially being left to deal with problems on your own, maybe this company is fine. But if you want clarity, professionalism, and accountability in writing, then look elsewhere. § Paul's response below is a classic damage control move -- polite on the surface, but full of deflection and quiet rewriting of events. To clarify: the window in question would have met the required 13" clear opening. That wasn't in dispute. Art, their sales associate, confirmed that in writing and was fully prepared to proceed with the job -- until I asked for a simple written accountability. That's the moment everything fell apart. Paul's follow-up misrepresents the timeline and sidesteps the core issue -- not whether the window would fit, but whether the company was willing to stand behind the result they were being paid to deliver.

After signing the contract the windows were ordered and arrived in about 3 weeks. The installation team worked quickly and Art was there to see it complete. Retrofitted the windows to fit in my existing frames to avoid having to work on the wall. Added the grids to match the style of the old windows since I have a condo and HOA would probably have an issue if not everyone's windows matched since it's a shared building.
