Nice, friendly, honest service. So far experience has been overall good. They replaced a retracting screen which looks and works well. I have three minor gripes 1. I never received an invoice for the work performed. If a problem arises I have no records of their work. 2. Poor follow up. They were supposed to reach back out to replace some hardware which had rusted and to measure a door to replace the existing old screen. It's been a week and all I've heard is crickets. More business awaits fellas! 3. Would have been excellent A++ service if the guy would have cleaned the screen to make it look better. I placed my deposit and in 3 or 4 days he called me back to schedule the install. The installer was on time and did a wonderful job and explained how everything works. Called them for a quote and then an installation. The whole process took about 10 days, from the initial call, to the estimate, to the installation. They brought a small sample door for the estimate so I could see the quality of the workmanship on the doors. It's much heavier guage than what you find in the home improvement stores. Everything was as promised. The installation is professional and a great fit. They puttied up the old latch holes and added molding to fill in the door frame so the door fits nice and snug wiht no gaps. Carl came out and measured the door and gave us some tips on color, style, etc. Once we ordered it, we were told it would be approximately 3 weeks for it to be completed. Carl actually called a little earlier than 3 weeks to schedule the installation. When it was installed they were actually earlier than the scheduled installation time. I have a mixed opinion about Carl's service. He measured for a Guarda front door, Guarda slider, and a retractable for a side door. When he came to install, he did a wonderful job on the slider and retractable, but was unable to install the front door due to the slope of the roof. He told us the only option was a retractable, which he measured for and subsequently installed. A few months later, the front screen broke due to user error, and Carl came out promptly (on a Sunday) to fix it for us. At that time, I told him that the retractable was not working for us (2 cat and 2 large dogs) and we wanted to try to make a Guarda work. I suggested installing the Guarda screen down a bit and building up the door frame to fill the small gap that would result. Carl seemed hesitant and offered other solutions like doing construction on the front of our house or getting a new wooden front door with an embedded screen. After doing my own research, I realized installing the screen lower would work. I emailed Carl (no reply), then left a VM (no reply) and finally another email (no reply). This was over the course of a week. He obviously wasn't interested in any more business from us. I contacted another local screen installation company who had no problem installing the Guarda screen for us. I felt compelled to write this review as Yelp reviews are very important to me when making decisions on which vendors to patronize. Considering my experience, I wanted other Yelpers to know Pacific Screen Doors does not always deliver 5 star service, which is what I expected. read more
