The restaurant does Asian cuisine, from Vietnamese to Thai to Chinese. It was a cold windy day with snow flurries and pho sounded good. There was only one waitress and she was kept busy. Multiple tables were not bussed. Our food came out quickly though. The broth was sweet, but overall I was satisfied. I also ordered spring rolls to go and enjoyed them the next day.

Decent pho place in Rapid City. They have a lot of other Asian selections. The service is good and there's plenty of parking. I would recommend when you're in Rapid City and craving Asian food!

Pacific Rim cafe Decent pho. Broth was excellent. Could be better but ok for being so far away from the Asian community. The presentation was perfect. Condiments were spot on. The meat was perfect. Even had tripe. Lots of meat. Pork meatballs. Well done. FYI, this was my second opinion. Our suggestion pho places was closed because of the usual Vietnamese close day. Highly recommended

We are visiting from Southern California during the end of Sturgis rally week. We had done our research ahead of time to find pho restaurants each city we're staying at. Had we not done our research, I would have thought, Pacific Rim Cafe was a Hawaiian restaurant not Vietnamese. When we walked in, it definitely hit you with the spices and pho aroma. We ordered the rice plate with pork and beef grilled meat. Also a combo pho dish. Both dishes were pleasantly good. This exceeded my expectations of a small town. The pork was better than the beef. Had a thicker seasoning. The pho broth was really light, wasn't as beefy but with lime and condiments, I was able to get it to how I like it.

Food is great, great atmosphere, free refills on soda, the service is great we got our food fast.

Skip the Thai food or at least the pad Thai. It's very beige, bland, and dry. You'll have to add sauce at a minimum, but also spice. If you've ever enjoyed pad Thai, this won't taste like what you liked. That said, prices are reasonable and staff are quick at service. It's not a bad experience, just needs improvement on food.

I wish I can give better rating for this restaurant. When we entered we can tell the place was pretty full, and some tables weren't cleaned up. There were only 2 servers running around getting orders, and taking the food to the tables. We got seated, and it took the servers another 10 minutes or so to clean other tables. There was a customer waiting for a take out, but he must have been waiting for a while because when the food came out the server was apologetic and offered him a free drink. Our order was taken fairly quickly, and the food actually came out pretty fast. During the whole time the servers were still running around. All of us ordered grilled pork bun (vermicelli), and an order of spring rolls. The grilled pork bun tasted well, but pork was a bit too salty, and the spring rolls tasted good, but they were very greasy. As we were finishing up a bus load of Vietnamese tourists came in, and I cannot forget the look on the servers' faces (they looked incredulous). I wished I could have helped them at that point, I felt so bad for them. Coming from a fairly large Vietnamese community I felt they could have done a better job, and the price point was high. However, I understand it must not be easy to get certain ingredients, and some times you have to cater to non Asian palates.

Food I ordered small size combination pho. The soup is not too salty nor bland, just about right in taste and not oily either. It tasted good. The meat they used for brisket is lean. The portion is enough for a small size. Hubby ordered shaking beef. The portion is good enough for 1 person. The meat they used is lean, once again . It was a tad salty. The taste was good. Our appetizer was fried tofu. It tasted good as well, not salty at all. Service We were greeted right away and got a table. The wait for our food after our order was not too bad considering the restaurant was full. Ambience Ambience is okay, it's casual. Not too noisy. When you're in Rapid City and you are craving for Vietnamese food this is your restaurant. I forgot to take pics before eating. Just the aftermath and you can tell we liked them.

While on vacation, my family was looking for something besides a bar and grill and decided to look for some Thai food. Pacific Rim was close to our hotel and so we stopped in to order take out. Staff were accommodating with us just walking in and helped get our order in right away. We decided to try the Shrimp Pad Thai, a few orders of Spring Rolls, and an order of Crab Rangoon. All of the food was fresh, hot, and tasty. The Spring Rolls were huge and the Crab Rangoon puffs were choke full of crab meat and a larger than average size as well. These Crab Rangoons were actually some of the best I have had in quite some time. Portion sizes were very generous and the pricing was super affordable because of that. For being in the middle of South Dakota, Pacific Rim managed to put out some decent Thai food.

The server finally informed us that she was sorry for the wait; however, they had run out of fried rice, and they were quickly making some in order to fill our order. The manager, I assume, then came over and assured us it would be out in a few minutes. We waited another 10 minutes and finally walked out. As of now, my review is this. The place is clean, the ambiance is okay, the service is horrible and I have no idea how the food tastes. At this point I would NOT recommend eating at this establishment until they learn how to run a restaurant properly. If they had come to us and told us they were out of fried rice, I would have ordered something else. They should have at least come out sooner and given us a choice.

Before ordering, we explained that one person in our group has celiac disease, and the restaurant did prepare that meal separately in the kitchen, which we appreciated. Our server did not seem to understand the request and repeatedly said it wasn't possible. When the hibachi chef came to the table, he appeared frustrated that the order hadn't already been sent to the kitchen, making it clear there had been a communication issue. Throughout the meal, our server was also rude and lacked basic customer service. The hibachi chef's performance was also over the top. He did this one trick that was hilarious making the food he made have a hint of humor inside of it. The one positive was that the food itself tasted good for the four people in our group who were able to eat it as prepared. However, the poor service, lack of accommodation, and for a reasonable dietary request ruined the classic Habachi experience. Overall , we left disappointed and would not return.
