We needed to eat after a full day at Devil's Tower and Mt Rushmore. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. What's nice is you can load up a large bowl with tons of veggies that cook down they will put it into a smaller bowl do you pay less. This was my first time ever venturing into a Mongolian restaurant and I wasn't aware that you fixed your own bowl and they ended up cooking it right in front of you. I tried to add as much food as I can, but maybe getting large items wasn't the way to go because my bowl was already full. What I fixed came out looking and tasting good, but it funny how food shrinks once you started cooking and I probably should have went with a larger bowl lol. read more

These guys took our party in at the last minute. We were coming back from a sightseeing excursion (Needles highway - AMAZING!! Must see!!) and the Mongolian Grill had only one Chef left! They took us nonetheless. Very accommodating and not only is the food DELISH, but great for large finicky parties as there's something for everyone! Remember to tip your grillers. I am usually hesitant with Mongolian grills after Hu Hot ruined me, but this place blew it out of the water! I enjoyed picking my own ingredients and seeing the gentleman do their dance. I was very impressed at their skill of cooking in such a short period. My only regret was one of the ingredients I put in wasn't the tastiest after cooking, but that was my bad! Servers where very friendly. However we where the only people in the restaurant. The place was messy and there was plenty of time to get things cleaned up and hygienic. You basically get vm lots of noodles and rice, tiny vegetables and weird shaved hunks of frozen meat. An array of sauces labeled to not make sense. We loved this place! The service is wonderful! The ladies were so helpful and explained to us everything because that was our first time there, as well as in the city. In two words if you are going there for the first time, you will find a buffet with a variety of veggies, meat, two types of noddles and lots of different sources. You will be offered to choose between three bowl sizes (s, m and l). You pick a bowl you want and choose whatever you want from the buffet to be mixed and cooked for you on the huge round grill by a chef. As for the sources, if you don't know what to choose they have a menu above the sources how to combine them to get a tasty dish at the end. Also, a chef will ask you if you want to add Teriyaki source while grilling. We all agreed and didn't regret. Also, I liked the moment that if you chose a large bowl but while being cooked the food changed in its size (it will anyway), the chef will put it in a proper size bowl at the end and you will be charged not for the bowl size you chose at the beginning but for the bowl size you have gotten when the food was ready! In other words, I chose a big bowl, put lots of veggies which decreased in size while being cooked and the chef put my food in a medium bowl at the end and I paid for a medium bowl. I think this is so fair! If we are back in that city one day, we will go to Mongolian Grill again for sure! read more

Didn't like the food at all. This is by far the worst meal I've had from California to South Dakota. I've been to a lot of Mongolian bbqs and this one certainly does not meet the standard. This place does not have the variety like others. There's no lamb or any other kind of seafood besides shrimp. For an AYCE place, I was surprised there's no appetizer (usually an egg roll or something) or dessert (like sesame balls and ice cream). I cannot justify paying almost $20/person for this kind of food. Also, I followed the recommended sauce mix and it was very salty. The cook added more teriyaki sauce as he cooked which made the food even more salty. I would cut the sauce recommendation by at least half or even more. People commented on how clean this place is, but there were a ton of flies around the restaurant and around the food. I'm not confident that this place is all that clean. Also, being there at 8:00pm at night, the restaurant is very dark. I don't understand why this place can't just turn on the lights. People also commented on how nice the staff is here, and they are nice except they gave us the wrong information on the price of the AYCE. We were told $18.xx per person when we called but when we walked in, the cost went up to $19.xx . Not sure what caused the price to jump by $1 within 30 minutes. For a business that's been around for almost 20 years and with great Yelp reviews, I was really shocked by the quality and taste of food. read more

Food: I had never been to a Mongolian place before. If this is what you are supposed to do then it was pretty good. You choose your own toppings, sauces and veggies, mix them together and then the cooks fry it up. I don't remember what I got, but it turned out okay. The thing I don't like about places where you "make your own" is that REAL chefs know how to mix and match flavors to get your taste buds going. When you go to a place like this, it is left up to the customer and I don't know how to mix the flavors correctly. So although mine came out good, I tried a few other peoples and the flavor was completely different. Service: Probably the worst part, unfortunately, because during a dinner rush, you are standing there for 15 minutes with a bowl of uncooked food waiting for an open chef. I felt that this was a little odd that they didn't have more people to account for the huge rush at dinner. Our waitress was a "no-frills" person... drinks, bill and see ya later. Lastly, the chefs looked tired and were not like the chefs you would see at Benihana's (it's in San Diego...) even though we tipped them. Overall just "meh" on the service rating. Price: Cheap. A medium bowl for 9$ will fill up a grown man (:: cough cough ::) like me. I saw people getting large bowls with HEAPING scoops of noodles, which would be enough for two meals easily. They have a good selection of veggies and toppings too, it's a cheap dinner or lunch. Atmosphere: It's a little dark inside and a little cramped. It is like a buffet seating arrangement. Just a few decorations inside, kind of uncomfortable seats. It reminds me a lot of the Chinese buffet here in San Diego. Overall: It's cheap and they give you a ton of food, but don't go with a huge party, you will be waiting a while. And by the time the last person eats, the first person is done with their plate. The food is delicious, but the prices aren't posted anywhere in the store. The website's prices are drastically lower than what they actually charge. We thought we were paying about $60, but we payed $108. We asked why it's not the same and she said its just not updated. I love Mongolian Grill and would recommend any friend to go. The food is in a buffet style, where you get to go and pick what veggies, meats, noodles and sauces that you want in your bowl. Than, on a giant rounded grill, they cook it right in front of you! I do not know how authentic it is, but whatever it is, it still taste amazing! The staff is very friendly, especially since I have been going there for years. I have been going to this Mongolian grill for years. When anyone asks where I want to go eat, I always say Mongolian Grill. I have worked in the restaurant industry and I know what goes on in the "back of the house" so it's nice to be able to see your food be cooked. One of the best things about Mongolian Grill is that you get to take home your left overs. You can't do that at HuHot. This is why, to the disgust of a previous reviewer, customers jam food into those bowls. On a good day you can get two more meals out of your large bowl. it is because you can't take your food home that I have not been to HuHot, but instead go to Mongolian grill. I would suggest you use the baby corns with caution. I don't know what's up with them, but they can be funky. read more

This place was just outside our hotel. So, without much thinking, we went there for a dinner after a long day of travel. The dining area was huge and clean. There were lots of vegetable options, two types of noodles and tons of sauces to choose from. My husband and I took a medium size bowl. On our request chef cleaned the WOK for us, as we are vegetarians. The food was amazingly delicious!! The only suggestion I have for this place is they don't allow sharing. Maybe I don't know enough about Mongolian grills to be reviewing this one, since the only one I had been to before was the HuHot in my hometown, but this restaurant left my wife and I much to be desired. The service was not good, the portions were good, but the items offered were iffy at best. My wife had some shrimp in her bowl, and so far she hasn't gotten sick, but the evening is early yet. I didn't even fill my bowl, and had plenty. What amazed me was watching others fill their bowls to get their money's worth. And when I say fill, I mean they overfill their bowls and smash it down, then I saw one person use that same hand to reach in and grab more noodles to put on top, then smash it down again. If you're a poor college student, I guess it's worth the money, but if you actually earn your money, I'd say spend it elsewhere. read more
