This is the second time I've worked with Pacific Preferred for this program, and I'd like to shout-out Janesa, whom I worked with recently to help process a new application for me. Not only were they fast and efficient, they were calm and friendly throughout the process. Everything was explained clearly, and all the items I needed to submit were processed super fast. The fact that I could TEXT over images of documents instead of having to go scan them and email and all that outdated nonsense? The digital instant contract to sign? The ten minute wait time to get my temp print out ID card?? St*te F*rm could never (I should know, I used to have them and it was terrible trying to process any document). The actual good neighbor is this crew. The first time I worked with them last year? Same experience. Probably a different person, too. They're doing something right, so just do not despair nor hesitate. Usually working with anything affiliated with state programs, you tend to feel the lack of funding and the weight of systematic lower-working class suppression that we experience in the U.S. due to a number of "anti-socialism" policies hearkening back to the latter years of Cold War Reaganomics fueled by the still ever-popular corporate bootlicking neoliberal mindset. Things like terribly inaccessible opening hours, horrendous wait times to speak to a representative, confusing and outdated webpages, bad quality of services, etc. However, California seems to have found the proper broker for the CA Low Cost Auto social program that benefits those who cannot afford the exorbitant and arbitrary costs of private insurance -- and considering you can't register your car without auto insurance, they better have some way to make it accessible. So, here I am again, utilizing a government program to make it so I don't get pulled over or have my car impounded and have to pay even more money that I don't have. I love how the DMV's ideal method of punishing poor people is to ask them to pay more money. GG. Anyway, From my experiences with medi-cal over the past few years, I never have any idea what to expect from trying to navigate these systems, but it's usually with very low expectations from getting burned so many times. Hello, I have just applied for and received my new auto insurance. I used a website online to fill in a short form and then was directed to call PACIFIC PREFERRED INSURANCE. I first spoke with Janette(did not get last name). Since I had already filled in the online app, we did not talk very long. She was Polite, Professional, and Knowledgeable. After we finished the conversation I had to find and submit some docs. She said call back after submitting. When I called back, Janette was busy, so I spoke with Christina Garcia. Our conversation was longer as she was explaining the insurance coverage in more detail, gathering more info about my car and my driving experience, and the overall process I was going through. Wow! She has really good phone presence. Crystal clear sound and volume. When we finished she directed me to my email to read 10 docs in case of mistakes, and to make sure I understand them before signing 3 of them. If I do not understand any of it, I should not sign any, and instead should call her back and ask questions. She did a thorough job in our conversation, so I understood and signed the 3 docs. I had a slight tech problem with applying the signature, so I called back. Christina was busy, so Jessica helped me. Jessica was also Polite, Professional, and Knowledgeable. Jessica helped me finish the signatures and submit the form. After leaving the website, I checked my email and downloaded the 3 attached docs. One of them was my Insurance ID card! Shopping for insurance is probably one of my least favorite things to do involving my car. I think I would rather go to the DMV for something than go through the hassle of finding an insurance carrier, getting a quote, and hearing multiple people all trying to get my business who are brokers just trying to get a commission and can do very little about the prices they didn't set. It's more frustrating when I have a clean record and just want liability insurance. I will often end up overpaying for insurance just because that agent was the first to complete the process and email me my cards. Janesa at Pacific Preferred Insurance was awesome. She was very patient and calm and just told me what forms she still needed from me. Twice when I spoke with her it wasn't a good time and she never pushed me to handle it anyway, nor did she become a nag after the call insisting I call back. Her tone was great and she knew the answers to the questions I asked. I was referred to Pacific Preferred through Mylowcostauto insurance site. I had been paying over $100 bucks a month for a car worth less than $3000.00. Since they are a broker of insurance and not the insurance provider, and I also haven't been in an accident since I can only comment on the experience signing up and whether or not that satisfies the insurance need to be able to legally drive in California. Well with the luck of God and a very helpful young lady named Carmen at Pacific Insurance aka. low-cost auto insurance I am now able to say I am insured and able to drive my car legally... Carmen was the most joyful, helpful and an absolute delight to talk to on the phone she went out of her way to provide excellent customer service to me even tho I was pretty discouraged when we first started our conversation by the time I was done I had a smile on my face and was no longer angry that insurance reps.only want to boost there paycheck not help me or anyone else to find affordable insurance... Well I needed insurance and went through Low Cost Auto, before so I decided to give them a call. Immediately the lady who answered told me I should call Pacific Preferred instead, since they probably already have all my info on file already, and the process would be alot quicker. The very nice young lady who helped me was Carmen an agent from Low Cost. This lady had to have been the most polite and patient insurance agent I have ever dealt with. She handle all the details so quickly that I was left stunned at how fast and easy this whole process was going. She even answered all my questions in regards to adding another vehicle and the price for that vehicle. She made everything flow so easy that I had to stop and think if this was real because of how smooth things were going. I couldn't see why I dreaded this in the first place. At the end it was time to provide my payment. It wasnt going through because the system was down but that didn't keep Carmen from getting me insured. She told me she would run it again in a few and send me my card through text and everything else in an email that i needed to sign. Later i got the text payment processed and a copy of my insurance card sent to me. So if you need insurance and qualify for this prices i recommend asking for Carmen to help you. She is just amazing. I'm very pleased and would recommend to others. Grateful that California makes this program available. The people at this company seemed really nice and helpful. Both reps I talked to (Jessica and ???) were great and very knowledgeable, and were happy to answer all of my questions. I have an older car and it doesn't make sense that the cost of insurance is more than the value of the car. This program (CA low cost auto program) is a great option. The liability coverage is minimal but it's also extremely affordable. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to get coverage that satisfies the state requirements through this company. They also allow you to cancel, and there is no fee if you cancel after 60 days. That means when I get a better job, I can cancel and get better insurance. That gives me peace of mind. The whole process was super easy. The paperwork was more extensive up front with the application, then wait for them to call, confirm all the info, make a payment, sign online, and then get copies of everything in your email. It probably took me 45-ish minutes to fill out the application and then the follow-up phone call was 20 minutes at the very most. great customer service, & this insurance is a beautiful answer to those of us whom are especially low income, to be able to afford the mandatory auto insurance law. i'm so glad this exists... on top of that the customer service is on point! My representatives name is Monica, & she's very friendly, while maintaining professionalism, along with the c.s.reps being very knowledgeable in all thungs auto insurance related! my representatives were perfect...such intelligent women. Just an overall GREAT experience, and to my relief THE COST OF MY AUTO INSURANCE CANT BE BEAT! This was my first experience shopping for a "low cost" auto insurance plan in California. After some research and qualifying via the State site, I was referred to Pacific Preferred. I found the enrollment process straightforward, and simple. Some documents were requested, but they were easily uploaded via their website. All the rest was handled promptly by phone and email/txt. Unlike many other insurance companies, I was not pressured or bombarded with tons of marketing emails or texts. Communication was relevant, to the point and helpful. The final step was paying my policy by phone, and requesting it be active the following day. This was handled flawlessly. I received my coverage ID cards via email so I can print them out and keep im my vehicle. Coverage was immediate and no hassle, as most auto insurers in California must wait 14 days before policy goes into force. Some also require six months paid up front as well. We agreed that the next day is the final phase. Day 2: I twice to Robbee called. First call to complete filling-out the application. The second call to make the necessary-payments. Let me just say, best insurance experience in my 50+ years of driving. I have had a very expensive insurance history! From age 16 to now " 60". I knew of this program, but I just thought " cheaper", meant insufficient at best! I kept looking at the website.. and "ill informed me", kept paying for the NAME of a company. Very financially disabling! I am a disabled 60yr old, with a great driving record. I was paying insurance at a " well known " high end insurance company", for a 2008 Nissan Rogue! Worth 551.00, paying MONTHLY.. 120.. a month.!! I am really embarrassed to confess this,. I am now reaching out to prideful, uninformed individuals, disabled and elderly.. with a " budget", reach out to this company. Go through the steps, and save money! I have been with Pacific Preferred Insurance since the recession caught up with me in 2009. From the first phone call the staff has treated me actually better than my lifetime auto insurance choice, which had been AAA. They continue to handle all problems, if any, directly with the insurer (PPI is a broker for CA low-cost motorist insurance). On the occasions I've had to drive to their office, I've actually looked forward to seeing them! The staff is VERY WELL TRAINED. No answer to any of my questions has ever had to be "looked up" or an answer delayed while a manager etc. Is consulted. These are the concerns that I would have, but you want to know if the costs are affordable: YES. I am a "very low below poverty level" income. You want to know if there's a catch: NO. These guys have the absolutely best rates available. They are designed to help lower income people be able to have the insurance required by law without breaking your pocket book, and the coverage Is the same as any basic coverage through another company. They are very friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to giving the best coverage for you. When I bought a new vehicle, and required full coverage, they could no longer cover me, but assisted me in finding the best full coverage policy with a new carrier, at the lowest price available, believe me I checked around. When my son got his license at 18 I referred him to California Low Cost Insurance and his rates for being a new licensed driver were unbelievable. Quick and efficient experience with this service. Not too much trouble, besides the call itself of course, but my broker, Ms. Rangel, made it a pretty painless experience.
