I waited about 35 minutes to receive my food. Would I have liked to receive it sooner? Yes, but I could tell the kitchen was working hard and it was busy. They did what they could I got an 8.00 Sake Maki role and the Nebeyaki Udon soup dish to compliment the rainy and moody weather The sushi roll wasn't anything special. Salmon, rice and seaweed, you really can't go wrong! I'm going to to come back and try other rolls cause the sushi here looks delicious The soup was full of Sweet and savory ... It definitely had that umami flavor but the shrimp and egg were very overcooked. The soup was boiling hot when I received it, the egg was hard boiled, not poached and the shrimp tempura was tough and rubbery. The variety of ingredients impressed me though. The fish cake, fried tofu, mushrooms, and pea crisps were delicious and flavorful! I would get this dish again, because it truly did taste good, I just wish they'd out the shrimp and egg into the broth later so that they didn't come out overcooked. Loved the vibe here, food was good.. this place has a good thing going!

My friend and I tried the spicy XLB, the chili oil spill dumplings, the mala beef shank dry noodle, and the beef rib noodle soup. Everything was wonderful and exceptionally flavored (especially the two dumplings), except... the beef rib noodle soup that fell pretty short. The rib was much less meat than the shank bowl, and was much smaller/shorter of a rib than shown in the advertised photos which is always a disappointment. It was cooked really nicely tender though, so again sad because it was only a few small bites (and the rib costs $8 more than the shank). The soup was also really lacking in flavor - we both thought it was super bland/watery tasting. Wouldn't rec (unless it's a one off)- just surprising that the other dishes were so flavorful except this one. Also highly rec the fruit sodas (i.e. green grape, passion) because they were delish! They were the perfect amount of sweetness (aka not too sweet).

Their dessert options (mainly dessert XLB) are amazing though, so I honestly wouldn't mind coming here after a meal either. Service isn't nothing to write home about, order via QR at the table and they'll bring food. Not much interaction. Ample parking in the plaza. There's a decent amount of seating but it can get full, so budget time for a wait just in case. Noodles - I love biang biang noodles so may be judgy but these were slightly too hard rather than QQ or chewy. Not bad, but would prefer a bouncier texture than firm. Meat and sauce was tasty, but the beef was a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were tender while others a bit rough. Would've loved a little more protein, but interested in the beef rib option in the future. Pan Fried Dumplings - these were just worse xiaolongbao. They're barely pan fried and then they just stick to the paper in the basket. This also means they run pretty easily. Would stick to ordering XLB. They also don't provide spoons which would be nice for all XLB soup. Taro XLB - star of the show! Definitely snag one of the dessert XLB if not more. They also have red bean and chocolate. Fully filled with a sweet, smooth, and nutty taro paste. These are plentiful and delicious.

You order from a kiosk when you get inside, grab and table and the staff calls you when food is ready. Minimal interaction with them so I can't speak for service but the noodle soup we order was so comforting! My friend ordered the beef bone noodle soup and I ordered the spiced pickled beef noodle combo because the sides peaked my interest. The broth is so flavorful and has a ton of depth it was nice since it was a bit cold outside due to the rain. I assumed the pickled cabbage that were in the soup were going to taste like pickled mustard green but they did not. They had a funky after taste that I didn't really enjoy. Aside from that, everything else was great. The beef was tender and I absolutely love all kinds of handmade noodles. The side that I chose was a potato salad and again, I assumed it was going to be more of a salad but it was this tangy, spicy potato strings. It was really nice actually. Help added some acidity to my meal. By the time we were finished, the rain had stopped so it worked out perfectly!

My favorite was actually the tomato egg stir noodle. I didn't know what it would be which is why I wanted to try it and I was pleasantly surprised. Essentially it seemed like scrambled eggs in a red tomato sauce (with chunks of tomato) and noodles. Not overly seasoned but enough. The original beef noodle soup was good but maybe I should have ordered a more exciting option. It was a great soup for a cold December night but there wasn't anything about it that stood out. The classic pork sandwich was nice. It's basically just the flaky bread filled with a ton of seasoned shredded pork. I'm sure there were onions or something also in there but I didn't notice any vegetables. Skip the zongzis. I was really let down by that. If you know fufu from West African food it honestly reminded me of that in texture and flavor (aka no flavor). But that's the point of fufu, you are using that as a vessel/serving device, I presume the zongzi is supposed to actually taste like something Ambiance is pretty sterile overall.

When I arrived, the restaurant was about 1/3 full. The place was pretty quiet and didn't seem very lively, but there were others that showed up after me so that seemed pretty promising. The server sat us down but didn't mention about the QR code on the table so I sat there for about a min or two before I noticed. The whole menu and ordering was done all on your phone for the whole table. Not very much interaction. We ordered the spicy BBQ chicken skewers, the stewed beef rib noodle soup, and the normal beef flank noodle soup. The order came out relatively fast. The spicy BBQ chicken skewer was not what I expected. I was expecting a skewer like a kabob, but I received a few skewers with what seems to be thin pieces of ground chicken. The flavor was alright, but the chicken was VERY dry, which made it hard to enjoy. My stewed beef rib noodle soup wasn't bad. I got it with normal sized noodles and some beef flank on the side. The noodles were fine, but the soup could've been warmer. I was expecting a hot bowl of soup. The flavor was lacking a little, but it became much better after I added some chili oil. The rib meat wasn't bad. It had a a couple bites that were a tad tough but the flavor was kinda there. Honestly the extra flank pieces I had were better. Much better overall and it was pretty tender. I didn't really try my friend's bowl, but she got her soup with wide noodles. They were a bit wider than she expected. She made note that her noodles did seem undercooked and they had a slight doughy chew to them. She said it would've been better if it was cooked a little longer. Overall I enjoyed my soup. There are some things I would change, but I think it was a good first experience for something I've never had before.

Liang Pi (Cold Noodles): All in all a solid rendition and a generous portion size, but I wanted all the flavors to be punchier / turned up a notch. Looking for more spice and more tang. Great mix of textures though. Spicy Cumin Lamb Noodle Soup: The noodles in themselves are really fantastic: super chewy in a satisfying way. The lamb could be a bit more tender, but the soup is nice and hearty for a cold day.

Each table is already set with a large jug of lemon water and self-serve cutlery. The large jug of water is convenient, and definitely necessary if you go for some of the spicier noodles on the menu. ~foreshadowing~ We had the wood ear mushroom salad to start, I had the pickle fish noodle soup, and my lunch buddy had the chongqing noodle soup (vegetarian version, which is not marked on the menu but we found out because we asked). The wood ear mushroom comes in a tangy, flavorful marinade full of pickled peppers and cilantro. The peppers are actually spicy! So...be careful. It's hard to avoid them, though, because they are everywhere. As is the cilantro, so if you hate spice or you hate cilantro, maybe don't get this. BUT if you LOVE spice and you LOVE cilantro, like me, then you will like this wood ear salad. It was certainly one of the tastier and more unique versions of a wood ear salad that I've ever had. I really liked my pickle fish noodle soup. I got the large and it was legitimately a HUGE bowl, with lots of noodle and lots and lots of fish. The fish was super tender, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the broth was wonderfully cloudy and rich and tangy without being overly sour. My lunch buddy liked his Chongqing noodle soup, but be aware that the spice levels here are not for the faint of heart. He went for the medium spicy and his bowl looked like the liquid at the earth's core and he drank the entire water jug on our table. There are a ton of options on the menu, and I definitely want to come back and try more!
