They worked efficiently and did a mean job of Tetris to get everything into the truck. Had a 90 mile drive but they made good time and unloaded quickly helping us get everything organized in a storage unit to just the way we wanted it. We appreciated their professionalism, cheerful demeanor, good sense of humor and hard work! I offered to buy them lunch, but they kindly declined and said they preferred to make a quick stop on the way. I have used JD's movin twice. The first move went well so when I moved again I hired them again…read more The second move was out of state and they just loaded my U-Haul. When I got to my destination and the U-Haul was being unloaded I began noticing damage on several pieces of furniture. I contacted him the same day he loaded the truck and things went off the rails quickly. At first he admitted liability and offered to repair my mattress, but as more things came off the truck damaged he changed his response and began denying responsibility. I asked for his insurance information and sent him purchase receipts for the damage items, he wouldn't give me his insurance information. In the end I had a ruined mattress (only 2 years old), a broken antique sewing cabinet, a ruined drafting table, and a warped shelf from a metro rack totally over $2,000 in damage. And an extremely hostile text exchange where he blamed the damage on the fact that I lived on the fourth floor. I lived on the third floor. Save your money and hire someone else. **Update** Jason Dean is now harassing me and making false claims because I left this review. I never signed anything nor had the opportunity to inspect the packed truck. How does one do a walkthrough of a tightly packed truck anyway? I am the person that unloaded the truck with the help of a friend so I saw with my own eyes the way that it was packed improperly. A properly packed truck should not cause this type of damage to my belongings. Not to mention the fact that I told them to use the mattress protector and how to install it before moving the mattress out of my bedroom. Yet when I came upstairs the mattress was being slid across the floor without the protector on it. When they attempted to slide it down the stairs it caught on the threshold and tore off part of the threshold. At the time it was easy to fix the threshold so I only asked them to do that before ending for the day. They did not tell me that the threshold had tore open my mattress in 3 spots and that there was black grime all over the side of it from dragging it along the floor unprotected. Jason did not put the mattress protector on until he got the mattress to the truck.

It was an overkill for what I had but I didn't care any longer. They told me it would take 7-9 days. Everything was to the point, exactly as stated and super friendly. I moved a lot of dishes and other breakable things and was a bit nervous. Everything arrived in good condition and the delivery and pick up of the trailer was quick and uncomplicated. I took one star off because it took two weeks and I had to call to ask where my stuff is and then it took tree more days for it to be delivered. I am handicapped and started to get desperate for some of my things in the load. I don't have a problem for it to take two weeks considered the distance. I just wish they would have mentioned that it may take a bit longer. I started to get worried. But over all very good.

At the start site the driver did not have a forklift so he had to slide the cube of a trailer, The driver made sure my driveway did not get damaged but also added protective wood planks to assure no damage. The time schedule was right on. ABF freight was awesome.
