I have used JD's movin twice. The first move went well so when I moved again I hired them again. The second move was out of state and they just loaded my U-Haul. When I got to my destination and the U-Haul was being unloaded I began noticing damage on several pieces of furniture. I contacted him the same day he loaded the truck and things went off the rails quickly. At first he admitted liability and offered to repair my mattress, but as more things came off the truck damaged he changed his response and began denying responsibility. I asked for his insurance information and sent him purchase receipts for the damage items, he wouldn't give me his insurance information. In the end I had a ruined mattress (only 2 years old), a broken antique sewing cabinet, a ruined drafting table, and a warped shelf from a metro rack totally over $2,000 in damage. And an extremely hostile text exchange where he blamed the damage on the fact that I lived on the fourth floor. I lived on the third floor. Save your money and hire someone else. **Update** Jason Dean is now harassing me and making false claims because I left this review. I never signed anything nor had the opportunity to inspect the packed truck. How does one do a walkthrough of a tightly packed truck anyway? I am the person that unloaded the truck with the help of a friend so I saw with my own eyes the way that it was packed improperly. A properly packed truck should not cause this type of damage to my belongings. Not to mention the fact that I told them to use the mattress protector and how to install it before moving the mattress out of my bedroom. Yet when I came upstairs the mattress was being slid across the floor without the protector on it. When they attempted to slide it down the stairs it caught on the threshold and tore off part of the threshold. At the time it was easy to fix the threshold so I only asked them to do that before ending for the day. They did not tell me that the threshold had tore open my mattress in 3 spots and that there was black grime all over the side of it from dragging it along the floor unprotected. He and his employer came on time ( they were very patient because our arrival time was so fluid). They showed up, unloaded our UHaul truck, I asked if they could put a cast iron bed together and they took care of that. I was especially grateful for that because at 73 floor sleeping has lost any appeal it once had. We only had a few heavy things but we had most of the truck with smaller boxes which were light but required sooo... many trips. They are funny to boot! Totally recommend. read more

It was hard to find someone in Bellingham that would deal with such a small job as our church had. We only needed to move a 5' X 8' storage unit. JD said no problem. They arrived right on time and finished quickly. Protected everything with moving blankets in the U-Haul truck I had rented. Hired them to load a truck, and then put it into storage. They loaded the truck, maybe about 3/4 (we had other stuff still not packed, that isnt their fault) but stubbornly claimed we wouldnt be able to fit much more in (shocker, we did fit everything in on the move out of storage) Also, on organizing in the storage unit, they stacked many heavy items on top of light and fragile items, and didnt utilize the space in the unit well whatsoever. This resulted in some of our china being broken because they used it as the base of some stacks, and our tv now has a large crack in it as well. I had to reorganize the entire storage unit to actually fit the rest of our items in. The price really isnt that bad, but for the actual work they put in it felt like overcharging. I found other people to move the stuff out for like half their price, and they did so much better than JD's Took photo and video of our stuff and their moving process without asking. I'm an old lady whose husband just passed away and who's staying in our home but changing things around a little. As such, I needed movers to do the heavy lifting of my very old and antique furniture, all of which were far too heavy for me to tackle, even with a friend -- and I found them! These guys are extremely strong and can lift anything. They did an excellent job for me, and in only 1¾ hours, a job I was sure would take all day. Way more expensive then quote. Charged for lunch break. Took photos of my things without asking. Job not completed. Had to hire someone else to finish up. Told me It would take a few hours without seeing any visuals. The only equipment was a handtruck so they loaded everything individually into the elevator and off the elevator and into the truck which made the cost so expensive and held up the elevator for the other tenants. They could of fit more than one box at a time on the hand truck but only used it for a few furniture items. No moving blankets or carts. Guy had a cold so passed that on to me. So he didn't feel well and was moody. Other guy was at least pleasant to my cat. I was upst when the guy with the cold grabbed my cat and stuffed him into the cat carrier while I was not in the apartment because l was helping the other one hold the elevator. So pet was extra traumatized. They left my things unattended in the hallway and lobby. Neighbor lady helped keep on eye on my things. And they still insisted they always had my items in view even though I could see my things were left all over in the hallway unattended. The more pleasant guy was actually stoned as on the the trip to the new place I could smell it on him when he got in the truck. I also had to rent the truck. At first he said they would not give me a ride to the new place in the truck I was renting and only relented when I discussed this with a neighbor in front of them. I still had some packing to do but instead of just focusing on all the packed boxes and furniture they kept fiddling with the things that were not packed and throwing things into bags like the cookies I just received as a gift that morning. So then I had to then search for those things that were out for a reason. Overall disturbing and feel scammed. Also I mentioned to him that he had no Yelp reviews. He said he did not like Yelp but now a few days later he has a yelp review by someone else that lives in Sacramento. Not sure if items are stolen will have to ask for the security camera footage. To be continued. - 5 stars minus. Just read his response. He denies having a cold. Insults me. My apartment looked like a storage unit because of all the packed boxs. It did not look that way before I was moving as I had just passed my inspections. It was a small studio. Of course I had furniture. Of course I did hire someone to come back and I will share his information tomorrow when I am done with the move. He did not have to rearrange his schedule, he said he did not have anything going on that day, could of said no if he wanted. I did get a bad feeling and I should of just sent him on his way when he showed up with just a hand truck and a contagious cold which I now have to suffer. read more
