We recently moved locally but needed some help with the relocation of my late mother's piano. The house we moved from had steep steps and tight corners but that proved to be not too much of a challenge for the crew working that day, Brian M, Mario I, and Kyler S. I was a bit of a wreck but my worries were unfounded. These guys treated mom's piano like a swaddled new born baby! What a relief to see the piano standing in its new location! They helped me load a trailer that I drove to my new home. My couch and my leather headboard both sustained tears that were each several feet long. I believe this is because they did not wrap these items, though they did to other items, and because they were placed up against other sharper items. This required expensive replacement and repair. When I inquired with the business, they were unwilling to work with me and did not accept any responsibility, despite initially claiming they had insurance for such incidents. I submitted their claim form to them, but never received any compensation. It took many phone calls and emails to reach them, and they stopped replying to my communication. The two young men who helped the loading however were nice and efficient, though both very young and potentially unexperienced. read more

I recently hired Moving & Storage Solutions for my move from Bellingham to Auburn, WA and was very pleased with the job that Terrence and Marty did. The quote process was easy, and after filling out an online estimate I heard from their office manager Mary a day or so later. The quote came back for a flat rate binding estimate that was significantly cheaper than the other movers in the area (Bellingham, Mt. Vernon and Seattle), and it seemed reasonable for what I was asking. I moved from a one-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom apartment (that included 3 flights of stairs). Not a ton of items, but a heavy dresser, large bed, couch, etc. that all comes with a fully furnished apartment. Nothing I trusted my friends and I to move! The day of, Terrence and Marty were there on time, and even provided furniture coverings to wrap and protect my furniture from damage during the move. After driving to Auburn, they unloaded all of my items without any damage, including handling the breakables with extra care. I'm glad that I didn't overpay by using a different company. Although there were some negative reviews, I didn't experience any and am happy with the service provided! read more

The move started out great. They used floor protectors and handled the boxes carefully. When we got to our new house there was no floor protection used until I reminded them about it. The next day I started unpacking boxes and realized that after looking almost HALF of the boxes were in the wrong rooms. Ugh! Now they won't move a landscape rock that we specifically told them about that was included in the original estimate. "We don't move anything that heavy". This after they agreed to move it!!! None of the other movers we've used over the years has had a problem until now. We will not be using this company again. read more

Their team of movers was professional, helpful, courteous - I can't say enough kind things about how great the experience was. I was expecting, well, I had low expectations. Phoned them about a small local move. They gave me a price and I told them I would get back to them. Was ready to book the move however other than the first call could never get anyone on the line. Left several messages for them to phone me back but they never did. Seems to me they have more than enough business and don't give a hoot about small moves. Customers should not have to beg for calls back and spend hours waiting to hear from these people. read more

We wish we could give them more stars. This was the best moving group that we have ever worked with and we have moved quite a bit. Efficient crews that worked symbiotically together. Juan and Matthew were carefully finishing up wrapping while two fellows named Brian were great at Tetris loading so the job went smoothly and quickly. All of the people that I am mentioning had great attitudes the whole time. I fed them snacks and drinks and they were so appreciative. In office, Mary and David got all scheduling glitches the paper work thru. Always pleasant to talk with them. And then there is Frank. You have to really like this guy. So matter of fact but with a sense of humor. Besides he was really helpful getting us used boxes to do our own packing. Definitely ask for Frank when you initially call for an estimate. Juan our driver was punctual, polite, pleasant and strong. His unload team were very strong and nice too. All of these people provided a great service. I hope that we do not have to move in the future but if we do this is the company we will call. This organization hires and trains excellent people. I had a really poor experience with my last movers so I was hesitant at first. However, when Matt and crew showed up to my house, they put me at ease almost immediately. They worked hard and had great attitudes. Very happy with the job that these folks did in moving us five hours from our old home to our new home.Nothing was broken and Matt and Terrence were great at bringing in our items and placing them where we wanted them. They even helped take items into the attic. The local Bellingham packing team was terrific and careful with fragile items, The folks that assisted at the other end were very nice too. The worst thing that happened was that brackets for two book shelves are lost. No big deal as we were able to find some hardware that works fine. I would tell anybody to choose this company over the others that I interviewed for the job .It was a very hot day at both ends and the traffic through Seattle was unbearable. I was a repeat customer and had referred friends to this company but my last experience came far from meeting expectations- the movers continually ignored requests not to take hand trucks on our new Harwood flooring or walk through the fresh landscape dirt onto new carpet where no attempts to put any type of protection down was made - in all my moves and those I've been part of as a real estate professional I have never seen professional movers not cover all walk ways - the time it took was excessive considering they didn't have to put beds together (my husband did that ) they left the washer and dryer disconnected and took an hour and half for lunch and to top it off the manager of the company blamed the entire experience on us - yes my husband did get frustrated the in the 9th hour after his requests were ignored and several of our items were found broken - when he could have just said wow I'm sorry that sure doesn't sound like the experience we'd like you to have - what can we do to make it right? I wasn't looking for a free move as he seemed to think - in fact I was prepared to tip our movers generously -- This is my first negative review ever but I feel people should know who they are working with - moving is stressful enough without being blamed for someone not doing their job - read more

Worst moving company ever! My elderly great aunt was moving from a retirement home to an assisted care facility - both in Bellingham. They quoted 3 hours to move the spare furnishings from her 2-room apartment. Two guys showed up with one hand truck between them and took 7 hours to move her stuff (breaking a picture glass and dresser in the process). They blamed the 4 hours of extra time on "waiting for the elevators" in each location. Buyer beware with these guys! read more

This owner has some issues. Im not one to write reviews but I had to on this place. He quoted me for 6 hours to have his guys load my own moving truck before I drive across the country. I told him I've been moved by Iron Man from apartment to apartment in 6 hours and that I'm going to help. He said, "just go to them then." I asked for a manager and he said he was the owner. So since I was picking up my Penske truck rental from him anyway I tried to still use him and he told me no. He was the only Penske dealer in Bellingham and made sure I knew. Our family selected Moving & Storage Solutions for our mother's move this past December. We called their office on a Friday and ask if they could come by the house the following Monday to give us an estimate. Stan and Eric were extremely professional, arriving on time and assisting us with many helpful suggestions. They called us back in about an hour with a very reasonable estimate and were willing to come that Wednesday morning (two days before Christmas) to complete the move. The moving crew arrived on time and ready to go. They were hard working, well trained and well organized. The move went very smoothly - and was completed in less time than had been estimated. We felt the job was exceptional - particularly since we were not moving everything in her home of 60 years - but only selected items for her new one-bedroom apartment - which required quite a bit of extra attention. We think part of their motto should be "no job is too small" - as this move received the same attention to detail and care in execution as I am sure they give to larger moves. We were very impressed with the way they gave us their undivided attention and their expert advice and support. They were always on time, very well organized, efficient and professional in the preparation for the move, the move out of the house and on the move into the new apartment. We were very pleased with the way they made a day that could have been very long and difficult into one that was extremely pleasant and productive for our family - and our Mom. My initial contact with Stan the estimator and Mary, the office administrator, was great. Both were courteous, professional, and responsive. However our positive experience quickly turned negative on moving day. Initially we were quoted 4 guys and 2 trucks. Before our move we sold a number of items and asked for one truck and 3 guys. On move day the movers showed up late, in a undersized van. Even the lead mover said they arrived with the wrong size truck. Nevertheless, after I walked them through and specified the items to go in the van, the movers did not prioritize the heavier items from the boxes and left behind a number of heavy items we then had to move ourselves the next day. Our previous move with Iron Man, while not optimal, took 2 guys less time to move more items than 3 guys with less items. While they may pride themselves on trained staff, first thing in the AM I caught one mover attempting to stand up with my heavy sewing machine perched on top of two other boxes. I asked him to stop but he stood up anyway and the sewing machine toppled and banged into the ground. They also damaged our dining table edge in two separate places (despite wrapping it in plastic and a blanket) and they dented our cedar chest along with nicks and pings on a few other pieces of furniture. They also did not listen to our driving instructions and took an extra hour driving around "looking for us." Very disappointing experience and would never ever hire this company again. Swans Moving and Storage costs more, but they are a much better organization. read more
