I have stopped in to Pacific Eye Care twice now over the past couple of years while visiting friends in the area. I randomly walked in with minor eye irritation issues, and both times the staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Find somewhere else to go. You could drive to Alaska, take a cruise and return with your tales of Glaciers, Bears and Whales, then disembark, walk until you find any Eyecare office in Anchorage, and you'd still beat the wait times offered at Pacific Eyecare. I'm sitting here waiting... still...and thinking about opening up my own Eyecare business here in P-Town. I have no relevant experience, no medical equipment and no frames to sell. I was a patient fir years, and even though the care was haphazard, continued because they are nearby. no longer. I have been waiting for a week for a call back to get laser treatment. Got glasses eksewhere because I would have had to wait four months for an appointment. They should call it Eye Don't Care. read more

The service in the optical department is terrible . The optician did not perform measurements for my new progressive lens until I asked him . He is not professional . I've been wearing progressives for 10yrs and have never been given such poor service . I'll will now continue to go to Poulsbo pacific eye care were I can trust the service . read more

I made an appointment for a basic eye exam about four or five months ago. It was supposed to be tomorrow. I got an automated confirmation call this morning, then 10 minutes later the office called to let me know my "doctor will be out" tomorrow and they have to reschedule me for a MONTH from now as that's the "earliest appointment available." I did not request a specific doctor at any point. Asked if I could get in earlier at a different location, no luck. If you have to cancel me after I've already waited this long, you could at least demonstrate a small amount of effort to fit me in sooner than any other person who might call today to make an appointment. You could offer to check other locations or other doctors without my having to ask. You could recommend other providers in the area. You could express some sort of concern or care, instead of waiting until I explained my disappointment to apologize. I understand that the person making these calls has no control over the circumstances, but their dismissiveness is only a small part of my frustration. This a scheduling failure that seems to warrant a policy overhaul. I'm giving two stars because I had one decent experience about a month ago when I had stye in my eye. They were able to schedule me to be seen within the week, though I'd already been waiting months for the other appointment. I suppose this qualified as "urgent" and so the scheduling process is different, but I cannot understand the huge discrepancy. It feels quite urgent to me that I should have my eyes examined as I'm having trouble seeing and driving and therefore navigating the world safely. read more

My wife and I were patients of Pacific EyeCare in Port Townsend, WA for about ten years. It is difficult to rate this company, because they are excellent in some areas and terrible in others. I chose to give them a two star rating, instead of a three, just so someone wouldn't glance at the review without reading it and assume they were "okay." I guess I would liken Pacific EyeCare to a restaurant with excellent food and horrible service. Once your name is called for your appointment, the person who first assists you, as well as every doctor we have seen, have all been great. Based on those experiences alone, I would have given Pacific EyeCare five stars. The problem is with the people at the front desk. The people at the Costco Optical Department, where we get our glasses said it best: "We frequently have problems getting information from Pacific EyeCare, because they want you to buy glasses from them, so they make getting them anywhere else as inconvenient as possible." This perfectly describes our exact and repeated experience with Pacific EyeCare. The people who answer the phone, make appointments and make your information available to those who need it are unhelpful and unfriendly, except in that chirpy, vacuous way of people who do not care a whit, but try to cover it up with false enthusiasm. This attitude has been so consistent over the years that I think it is fair to say that it is Pacific EyeCare policy to treat people this way. Because they are closer to us, we first ordered glasses from Pacific EyeCare, but their glasses are so much more expensive than at Costco that we stopped doing that. And, I was surprised to discover that not only are the people in the Costco Optical Department more helpful and friendly, they are also more knowledgeable. So we do not recommend Pacific EyeCare. read more

After visiting three different doctors for chronic eye pain, including a cornea specialist in Silverdale and getting no relief, I went to Pacific eye care in Port Townsend. Dr's Dieffenbagher and Maier suspected that I might have a problem with the underside of my eyelid. They discovered a hard cyst that was scratching my cornea. Dr Maier removed the cyst and for the first time in a month I was finally without pain and I have been ever since. I found the whole office to be pleasant, professional and accommodating. I highly recommend Pacific Eye Care in Port Townsend. read more

First time visit to them. I had an eye problem yesterday; called the office and was told they could squeeze me in if I came "right now." I arrived in 15 minutes; they processed paperwork quickly. The assistant gave me eye drops to dilate, and after an appropriate time Dr. Dieffenbaugher was able to see me and address the problem. She was friendly and knowledgeable and clearly explained what was going on. She gave me a full eye exam to be sure there wasn't anything else, and sent me on my way. Great experience. read more

I am disappointed with them not getting my prescription right to work in my contact lenses all these months. I want to see equally well with both eyes, not mono vision which does not work well for me, and it's taken a few months of trying different lenses still with no best results. read more
