I told her to skip that referral appointment and just check me out for eye strain. I was called back to an exam room, and the optometrist (Van Orman) started treating me for the referral instead of eye strain. I stopped him and told him I was there for eye strain. He stopped, looked at the paperwork he received from the receptionist, and said he was doing what the paperwork said he was supposed to do instead of double checking with the receptionist. He insisted on continuing what her was doing (instead of checking for eye strain), so I got up and left the office. I was charged for the work that the optometrist started, which was not what I was there for. I paid it, but after I got home, I decided I should not have paid for services I didn't ask for. I contacted the vision clinic and asked for a refund. They wouldn't budge. I disputed the credit card payment with the credit card company, and they agreed that I should not have to pay for something I didn't ask for. So the credit card company refunded the entire charge. I went to this clinic when Dr. Thompson was there and he was terrific. As long as the current receptionists and doctor Van Orman are there, I will never go back.

He did a thorough exam and immediately referred me to a retinal surgeon for evaluation. He has since closely and carefully monitored my eye health. Having moved to the Olympic Peninsula from a major metropolitan area, I have experience with the care of ophthalmologists at a large university hospital. They may have been top in their field but I have received no better care than I have by Dr. Reis. I trust him implicitly. One note for those seeking an appointment with Dr. Reis, I was informed this practice has been purchased by a new team of ophthalmologists and Dr. Reis is no longer working there. I hope to follow him to his next location.

What a well ran, finely tuned experience. It was my introductory visit. i did not have a doctors…read morereferral, but with family history, i was able to get in. Meaning, when i called to make the appointment: i was "screened" to make sure i wasn't wasting my money. Day of appointment, empty waiting room, minimal wait time. I traversed through a 3 rooms (stations), 2 for assessments. First room : medical history, glaucoma test, eye dial action, and eye chart reading. Second room: my retina was images on 2 different machines. Third room - Dr O'Malley provided assessment. He has a thorough and sequential (apparent) first visit routine. Stepping through some basic eye physiology as a basis for explains the images and results. i'm normally a guy who likes to skip through the introduction and jump right to the end, but this tune i but my tongue and listened and went along for the ride. I'm glad i did. It's obvious Dr O'Malley read my induct form, and in a honest, direct and plain spoken manner, addressed things he saw - effects of genetics and efficacy of vitamins. In parting, he said i didn't need to see a specialist (like him) for a follow up in a couple of years. Meaning. he focused on the level of care i needed, not generating more patients (and money) for his practice. Took them to the original seller and was told the hinge was sprung and I needed a new pair--nothing to be done! Oh, and they're no longer available, sorry! Went to Becs out of desperation. It took her 30 seconds to see that a tiny metal piece had come off, and she suggested a $5 fix (that I would have to do myself). If that didn't work, she could send them out to be repaired. I went home completely hopeful and, now that I knew what I was looking for, found the metal piece in my purse and glued it on. Glasses saved! She has also helped me select frames that are actually flattering, despite having a -5 prescription! Short story long, Bec knows her $h!t. She deserves your business.
