Excellent service! Mark Torrisi came to our home for an estimate. He is an extraordinary gentleman. Very honest, very professional and very kind. We called him thinking that we have to replace our furnace. He evaluated everything and advised us not to change it because the furnace is not old and it is in an excellent condition. He could easily take our order and get the money but he didn't! He counseled us not to replace the furnace for the time being. This is honestly that we meet very rarely these days. We highly recommend Mark Torrisi and his company, Pacific Coast Mechanical. read more

Pacific Coast Mechanical serviced my parents' house for 30+ years and they received quality care the entire time. As we prepare my parents' house for sale, Pacific Coast Mechanical came through again by helping me determine the age of the heater. If you're looking for tip top service, you couldn't ask for a kinder, more conscientious group of people. Give them a call! read more

This company is amazing. NO BS, straight forward. Had my air working within a couple hours. Had 2 other companies come out before them and was told $4000-25000, they fixed it for under $600. We will definitely be keeping this number and telling everyone to go here first. read more

My air conditioner stopped working, I called Mark, and he came out right away knowing it was going to be very hot today. He originally put my air conditioner in and it has worked flawlessly until yesterday. He fixed the problem and had it running perfectly within 45 minutes. I appreciated his quick response and his dedication to his clients. Thank you Mark. read more

Aaron came out and had our AC back up and running in 15 mins. They have a $75 fee for showing up. $35 per 1/4 hour. That plus a bad capacitor was a total of $275. Being a service tech myself that seems reasonable to me. Everyone involved was very professional. read more

We recently decided to get our heating + A/C back in operation. Our neighbor recommended PCM, so we contacted them. I can't tell you how happy we are with them and the service they provide. Rosemary (the owner) is awesome, as is Aaron. They are honest, reliable, diligent, and take the time to explain what's going on and what all of the options are. Can't get better than that! read more

Our heater stopped igniting last night. I called around 10 places, and got appointments ranging from tomorrow (not so bad) to 3/24 (insane!) Anyway, Pacific Coast Mechanical originally gave me a reasonable future date, then called back and said they could come by NOW, which Mark (the owner, I think) did, and fixed the thing not only right then and there, but for less total (including parts and labor) than any of the others had quoted me just for the base visit cost! read more

Professional and efficient scheduling. Showed up during the time window given. Charged a reasonable price: service visit ($68), time spent (30 mins = $58) and materials ($25 worth of Freon). Total cost $151 for AC diagnostic check and recharging Freon. Polite and friendly. What more could you want? read more

Five stars for Pacific Coast and especially Luis Martinez for a fixing my A/C unit. Arrived on time and not only resolved the issue; but, completed a thorough inspection of the system. read more

I am very disappointed that my valuable time has been wasted. My initial call to their office was handled very professionally but things went downhill from there. Rosemary was very impressive over the phone -- she knows so much more about HVAC than any of the other phone screeners I spoke with at other local companies. The following Monday her husband Mark came to my house, checked out my situation (I needed to replace a 3 ton condenser unit and the evaporator coil), and promised to provide me with price quotes for 2 Carrier A/C models and to do so within 2 days. I waited 3 days then initiated a follow up email because I still hadn't received the quotes. That email went unanswered. I emailed again the next day. No answer. So finally on Friday I called their office. I was surprised to hear that Rosemary hadn't received any information from Mark regarding my project but she said would look into it and get back to me. The next Monday, one full week after Mark had been onsite, I still had not received a single email or phone call from PCM. So I called their office yet again. This time Rosemary told me that they are all of the sudden too busy with commercial projects and will not be able to give me a quote on my residential system. To say the least, this company did not meet my expectations. read more

A friend recommended PCM to me, and I will be forever grateful. Another company has come to service my air conditioner, and told me that my system needed to be replaced. I was skeptical, and wanted a second opinion. My call to PCM was returned immediately. Mark arrived right on time, looked at my system, and assured me that I don't need a new system. When I do need one, or whenever I have any HVAC needs, I'll go to PCM. To find someone who is honest and professional means so much. I would wholeheartedly recommend PCM to anyone! read more

It's that time of the year and our furnace has been off since March. I flip on the switch and sure enough, it doesn't work. After a couple of hours of researching youtube videos and googling HVAC forums, I decided to seek professional help... The first 6 or 7 top Yelp reviewed HVAC companies in San Jose were booked for a week. I wasn't sure if we could last that long, especially with a 9 month old. The $30 ceramic heater we bought could only heat so much room... So I called this company and a polite lady named Rosemary picked up the phone and scheduled me an appointment in the next couple of days. But right about when we were about to end our conversation, she actually offered advice on what might be causing the problem. This was out of the norm (in a good way), since, imo, businesses may be competing for customers in our state of economic downfall. Well, sure enough, her advice did the trick. I just saved some money and time and PCM just earned a great review on Yelp... read more

We rent a home, and this morning the heating went out, so rather than bother out landlord, I had a quick search around on the net, found a couple of things that it may have been...tried them...and it wasn't them... Called the home owner, she called Pacific...and as they were very busy, the earliest appointment would have been tomorrow morning....my wife has a chronic pain issue, and the cold only makes it worse...I called Pacific & spoke with Rosemary (very professional) and explained the situation...she asked me to allow her to make a couple of calls and see what she could do. 10 mins later, she calls me back, tells me there will be someone there in 20 mins...and there was! Problem was diagnosed & repaired with the utmost care & efficiency, and the engineer was friendly & knew his job, had the parts in his truck & was in & out in less than 30 minutes. Excellent, clean, professional service...thank you so much Pacific Coast...you have a customer for life. read more

During this recent heat wave, Pacific Coast Mechanical was scheduled to visit with us and they did a great job of triaging which customers to visit based on the status of their system. Since my system was working, they asked me to be patient while they served others, including a medical facility that had not air conditioning with really hot temperature - this was when the temperature was reaching 100 degrees. While I was delayed, I felt good about the process based on how the office manager explained the situation and apologized. She also promptly rescheduled me. When Mark from PCM made it by, he was very informative, matter of fact, and helpful. He checked all the key parts of the system and explained what he was doing as he was doing it. He gave me lots of good information about how various elements of the system work and what does and does NOT need maintenance. He repaired a few basic items like screws that needed to be tightened as part of his diagnostic process too. PCM was referred by our house builder who has worked with him for over 20 years and has had solid experience with PCM over that time. Apparently PCM serves businesses and residential customers. I am happy to share this positive experience which contrasts with many poor experiences, unfortunately, with other contractors. Keep it cool! read more

I can't believe this place doesn't already have a million reviews. They are fantastic and I could not be happier with their work. Background: I called one HVAC company on yelp with good reviews, but as soon as they found out my unit was on my roof, they said no thank you. The owner of another HVAC company on yelp with a lot of positive reviews wasn't comfortable working on a package unit and recommended Pacific Coast Mechanical. Boy, am I glad he did. My heater was having an intermittent problem where some days it would work fine and other days it would come on, blow cold air for 60 seconds and then cut off. Pab came and arrived right on time - 1 star right there. Then he saw the pile of shoes at the front door and that my shoes were off, and took his off - another star right there. Then he fixed my heater quickly and efficiently and explained the problem - an extremely dirty flame sensor (including next steps, should the problem return) - another star. He was very polite, friendly and answered all of my other questions and explained everything in detail - 1 more star. Lastly, PCM's prices were very reasonable - rounding it out to five stars). I highly recommend them. read more

I have been enjoying reviews in Yelp but have not contributed yet. I feel compelled to write a review for Pacific Coast Mechanical because of how happy we are with their service. Our Carrier AC broken down a couple weeks ago. We were eager to get it fixed as all of us were working from home due to COVID 19. I called a few authorized Carrier dealers before calling Pacific Coast Mechanical, an authorized dealer for Carrier. One has a backlog for a month. Another charges a lot just for diagnosis. When I called Pacific Coast Mechanical, they were able to schedule us in a couple days. The service rep was able to identify that our capacitor broke and fix it in 15 minutes. The bill was very reasonable. After this experience, I know who I will call if we have issues with AC again. read more

I had a horrible experience with another company! After weeks of stress, my daughter found a glowing review for Pacific Coast Mechanical. I called and spoke to Rosemary, and almost cried when she said that she had a man in the area, and could send him right over!! Aaron was here within the hour. He fixed the problem and we now have heat!! These folks at Pacific Coast Mechanical are professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them, five stars are not enough!! read more

Well wouldn't you know it... our AC goes out on the hottest weekend of the year! I was thinking it was the SmartAC device from PGE, so I had them come out on the 3rd day of no AC since Monday was a holiday. PGE showed up and quickly told me it was the capacitor that they couldn't fix, so I did a quick search of Air Conditioning repair. I took a chance on Pacific Coast Mechanical given that they are located close to my house. They showed up on time (within the 2 hour window) and quickly replaced the capacitor within 30 minutes and now I have my house getting cooled down in this HOT weather! read more

Amazing experience with Pacific Coast Mechanical. Rosemary was very helpful in scheduling something sooner even with their extremely super busy schedule. Mark, as genuine as someone can get, came and checked the air conditioning and was able to procure the parts from carrier in time and repaired everything in 30 min. Total charge just $58 + diagnostic fee of $68. Other companies i contacted, one of them gave a quote of $1200 for the labor and the other company i called they quoted $370. Mark's business is honest and straightforward. No fooling around. I am glad i called them. Highly recommended. read more

Had my heat pump go out a few months ago. I had three other companies come out and take a look at it; all three of them lied to me about what the issue was. Wanted to charge me $500+ to band-aid the issue as oppose to fixing it. Called PCM and they were very helpful about finding the true root cause of why the heat pump wasn't working. Long story short, my compressor was had a hole and leaking the refrigerant and had to replace the compressor. Pacific Coast Mechanical was very helpful on getting the problem resolved and scheduling around the best time for me to get everything complete. I would highly recommend them for any HVAC issues, thankful that I made the call. read more

I had previously had another company come out to fix my AC, which went out during a very hot week. The other company quoted me $1100 to replace a broken fan, and recommended I replace the entire system for $7k-$10k. This seemed outrageous, so a family member recommended I call Pacific Coast. I'm so glad I did! The Pacific Coast technician came out within a couple days. He found I had a wire that had been broken off in the unit, repaired the wire, and had me up and running within a half hour. Total charge was $68, and now I have AC again. Couldn't be happier! read more

Worst ever!! We called them since we had heater issues and he came in promptly and replaced the filter (apparently patch up work) and charged a hefty price. To our shock, it broke down again, so we called them once again and this time he just replaced the AA batteries saying there was nothing wrong and charged again!!!! Well, as you might expect, it broke down yet again and this time we were obviously not going with these guys!! This is what the new company rep had to say, "Lousy job, they don't know the trade. It's a rip off"!! Can I give them a -1?? I'm editing my post here: The owner called me and inquired in detail as to the problem and was very apologetic. I really appreciated the call. To top it off, she gave me full discount saying that they're not in the business to cheat people. That was really amazing & something unheard off. So, i'm going to flip and give them a full 5!! Only wish the job had gone right... read more

Pacific Coast Mechanical is WONDERFUL!!! Mario was so professional and helpful. He came by to help at the end of his very busy day when he was on the way home. Rosemary in the office is the picture of what a great customer service person should be! We could not be more pleased. Lynn R. read more

Arrived punctually, serviced the AC unit efficiently and charged reasonably. Pleasant experience and highly recommended.

Pacific Coast Mechanical is a true find -- I highly recommend them! Before discovering them, I had several frustrating experiences with other HVAC companies over the years. Finally, a former sub-contractor referred me to Pacific Coast. In their first visit, they immediately diagnosed a problem that others had been unable to figure out. Since then, I have had them out several times over the years for both heating and A/C issues, and they have done an excellent job each time. I've been very impressed with every single technician who's been here -- all knowledgeable and professional. Rosemary in the front office is always helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable also. They're not a huge shop, but their team is first-rate. Highly recommend. read more

Honest, Helpful and Professional. I was in a very tricky situation living on the top floor of a condo with 3 floors of air conditioning units sitting on top of my bedroom hall way. I didn't know this when I bought the condo. Summer came along and the 2nd floor air conditioning unit was loud, vibrating with grinding sound all night long. My bedroom sounds like an engine room. The downstairs tenants were unsympathetic even when I brought them to my unit to see how loud it was. They set their thermostat to 71F and the air conditioning turns on and off every 11 to 13 minutes to regulate the temperature, all night long. The noise has driven me out of my bedroom, but the living room wasn't much better. The tenants told me to use ear plugs and white noise - but low frequency vibrating sound cannot be blocked out by ear plugs and white noise machine!! The landlord, didn't want to spend any money to fix it because it's very expensive to replace an older R-22 unit with an R410a unit as required by regulation. And it takes a crane to haul and replace the rooftop unit. The landlord is not on site so they are unreachable. I complained to the HOA once a month for more than half a year, and finally was told that the HOA has no enforcement power other than sending warning letters. Everybody dropped the ball. I requested the tenant to contact the property management, and they did. The property manager referred to Pacific Coast Mechanics. Mark came on site for more than an hour, taking time to check out the 2nd floor air conditioning unit, came to my condo and was shocked at how loud it was. He was very sympathetic. He went back and proposed solutions to the property manager and eventually went back and forth via emails and phone calls with the landlord to explain and negotiate the solution. The real solution would have been to put vibration isolator springs underneath the unit, and cut open the refrigerant metal piping and insert a softer tube to completely eliminate the vibration transferred to my condo structure. However the air conditioning unit was 30 year old and can break down any time. There is a risk that Pacific Coast might get blamed for the cutting of the pipes - the landlord was very screaming even about putting vibration isolation springs underneath. The landlord forces everyone to write down that each is responsible for the result of the repair, including from me. I was afraid that Mark would drop me anytime and get out of it. Mark stuck with me. He was very open with me and the landlord, displayed extraordinary integrity during the negotiation process. We finally have to settle for the minimally intrusive measure of just putting the vibration isolators and wrapping the compressor with sound blanket. It has improved a great deal, lessening the vibration noise. I manage to sleep through it most of the time now. I would not have been able to sleep in my condo without Mark's generous help, professionalism and integrity. When everyone dropped the ball, Mark helped me. I am extremely thankful for his kindness. Rosemary was wonderful as well. She was extremely sympathetic and kept me informed throughout. I highly recommend Pacific Coast to anyone. They are very trustworthy and honest. read more
