This review is way overdue. I took my son to Shelby for ISR in 2019. My personal experience with…read moreShelby was not a good one. Granted, it was her first time doing ISR, but she was not my cup of tea. When you are working with babies and children, I feel like you should have a kind way about you... you should ENJOY working with children or you shouldn't be doing so. When working with my son, she became easily frustrated and it was plainly evident. It was evident to my (at the time) 10 month old, as well. It affected his entire experience and outcome. The thing that REALLY rubbed me the wrong way was the fact that when I turned on my camera to video my son floating, she became sweet as pie. Her whole demeanor changed; the frustration left her face, the tone of her voice changed, she played with him, did "look at the bubbles!", etc. completely fake. And then as soon as my phone went down, she reverted back to the cold, uncaring person she was before. Harsh review, I know, but it's the truth. I would not take my children back and would strongly advise friends and family to seek lessons elsewhere.

We found Shelby White after months of searching for infant swim instructors. Being a first-time…read moremom, I really didn't know what I was looking for, but did know I wanted to enroll my son in some type of water safety classes. Although we don't have a pool at home, we have relatives with pools and we love to take the kayaks out on the water. Now that my son was walking, I wanted to make sure I took the necessary precautions before subjecting my son to a potentially dangerous situation. Long story short, we came across Delta Babies and I contacted Shelby to see what options we had. She responded right away and offered her available spots for the next season. We were provided a ton of information on the ISR program and the benefits it has and signed our son up right away. I was thankful she was able to fit us in, on such short notice (her schedule fills up quick)! For the first few weeks, my son cried the entire time, which I guess is normal for some kids. After about week 3, he was actually practicing his floats and rotations in the tub on his own. I love that Shelby will work with kids that need additonal time at no charge! Our son finished the float course and we have him enrolled in the next course which starts in a few weeks. I've asked him if he wants to go swim with Shelby again and he now says "Yah, Sha-Bee". I honestly have nothing bad to say about Shelby. She is an amazing instructor, very outgoing, and is great with kids. I'm so glad we found her!

I took the Clinical Medical Assisting Class offered by CalRegional also known as HarperRand…read moreCalRegional. It was $2,995, for 8 weeks, in person 9AM-1PM. Textbook not included (I have a physical MA Textbook available for sale for this class, if anyone wants to buy it off of me lmao! Not kidding either!) Navy Blue scrubs only is the uniform color you'll need for the class. My instructor was Ms Nina, although we were able to meet and be taught by the then, CalRegional Manager but now Instructor again, Melony for our class for a few days. Melony is a great instructor for the few days we had her. She taught us a lot. She is also very approachable and it was easy to get ahold of her. She was always responsive when I needed to get in contact with her towards the end of my class when she was placing me for my Externship. I was actually very lucky to be apart of the last of her students she placed for Externship before she stepped down as manager and became an Instructor again. Now Kathi is the current CalRegional manager. Let's get back to my class, as I said my Instructor was Ms Nina and I can't say enough good about her. She is the best! She's honest and open, her teaching methods are very hands on. She's funny as hell and super relatable too! She gave us a lot of insight on what to expect in the real world and couldn't stress safety enough! Our class was small, but made the learning experience all the more better. She taught us all so well and really made the time to help each one of us to be successful and absorb and understand what she was teaching us. Healthcare and the world in general need more people like Ms Nina! Thanks to her, I scored so well on my AMCA Exam and feel more confident than ever in my ability to be an amazing CMA. Note for future students: get all your prerequisites in by the first week! (Except for the drug test obviously, but at least pay for it and upload your receipt) Don't wait until midterm. Get it done by the first or second week. That way when it comes time for Kathi to place you at your externship, you can get placed sooner rather than later. I did all my pre reqs by the first week and got my externship start date for 3 days after my last day of class. If you wait til last minute to upload all your pre reqs and you'll end up being placed at externship later, because CalRegional technically has up to 60 days to place you. Also, pay your tuition in full so that way once you finish your externship and email your booklet to CalRegional you can immediately get your Certificate! If not, you don't receive it until you're paid in full.

Too much to go over but this site in Stockton is terrible. I requested a investigation and to have the skills re-taught expressed the discomfort and the anxiety that was caused from the tones and the disrespect from the teachers' frustration being she had no assistance with teaching skills but overall terrible treatment. Still waiting for a call from the regional managers manager as she filtered my complaints to avoid backlash on herself and the pm staff. Hoping this will raise attention to get the call I have been awaiting.
