Even though teacher Jill isn't my sons teacher, we always see her and my son loves her as well!! They always have a big smile on their face and my son seems to love them very much! Since he started there, there has been a dramatic improvement on his speech. He probably only had a vocabulary of 10 words. He now knows his alphabets, his numbers, his colors, animals, and their sounds! He always sings the songs they teach him there at school. & I love when he comes home with all the fun activities he does at school. I taught swimming lessons (including parent and me) for many years and directed aquatics programs, so armed with that experience, I went into my daughter's first lesson yesterday with realistic expectations. I know my 13 month old isn't going to learn to swim, but we can sing songs, play in the water, and have fun, yes? =) Unfortunately, there were no songs, no introductions made, and absolutely no group direction or instruction given. We were in the water for the 1/2 hour and had 3 interactions with the instructor, who was going from kiddo to kiddo and proposing different activities they could do with their parents (kicking, bubbles, tossing the toy and reaching for it). To be honest, this is not my issue. When I called the city to speak with their aquatics representative, I explained that I wanted to share some feedback about the class with the intention of helping their team improve the kiddos' experience. The only response given by the individual I spoke to was, "Well she is one of our newest instructors." What I was hoping for was some kind of action-oriented response that indicated that there would be some improvements made. That being said, I had high hopes for a fun experience, but we will be looking elsewhere for our parent and me classes. I hope that this will help folks who are considering enrolling in future sessions.

She then has the nerve to call and say it was a misunderstanding and that she did take us to the office. That was not true. I love that they have a "great room" in the center of the facility and that the classrooms lead out to their outside yard where there are alot of space and play options. My daughter adjusted super quickly, it was her first time in care and she was only going 3 days a week, but she would have loved to be there every day if she could. During my many visits to other schools I have noticed a distinct lack of attention and care that my kids need! When you first enter WriteStart you are either greeted by Caroline or Laura, they are both great people. My daughter really loves Caroline (it could be all the band aids and love - but who's counting), Denice is often in the kitchen and makes these delicious burritos every Wednesday (and although I encourage her to open her own restaurant, she is very happy at work!)... I take my daughter, Angie, into her class, her teachers (Sylvia and Holly) are there to greet her and make her feel at home.. The first time I dropped Ang off, she was crying and so was I. By the end of the week, Angie didn't want to go home at night! My other child Cecilia, really excelled during after school hours there. We weren't able to get her into the after school program, so I needed to have a school that was available during my hours! This place has been great! I've been trying to find more websites to tell people about this school!
