My 4.5-year-old is currently learning to swim with Ms. Desiree and absolutely loves it! We first tried ASA Dublin, but it was a constant struggle....overcrowded slots, limited pool and changing space, and long waits. Even during COVID, it felt overwhelming, and progress was slow. Then we switched to ASA Livermore, where, unfortunately, a teacher once pushed him into the pool despite his discomfort with water in his eyes. That experience really set him back, and we paused swimming altogether in 2023. Fast forward to 2025, we gave All Star a try. It's only been 1.5 months, and the transformation is incredible. Not only does he love the water, but he looks forward to every class. He's already jumping in, kicking, floating, and taking risk, all in just 15-minute sessions! It's definitely pricey, but the progress has made it absolutely worth it. Camille has also been wonderful... so warm, accommodating, and great with kids. This review is not going to increase my ability to get my preferred booking window BUT this swim school has been amazing so they absolutely deserve an overdue review. We started with All Star when my son was turning 3. Water safety was the primary reason we enrolled him as we have a pool. Over the past 2 summers, watching him gain confidence and swimming ability has made me appreciate how much fun he is able to enjoy the water with his older friends in addition to my focus on water safety. We went to the San Ramon Aquatic Park this past summer and he confidently jumped off their diving board despite being the smallest boy in the pool that day. This past spring, Ms. Desiree helped him learn how to "touch the bottom" and this summer, he is able to dive to the very bottom (8 feet) in our pool while his older friends struggle with picking up toys from the deepest end. I'm impressed how comfortable my little guy has become and his swimming and diving ability allows him to really enjoy the water. Private swim classes are a big time and money investment, I easily spend more time driving to and back from his swim class but the outcome from All Star Swim has been exceptional. We took a break from swimming to start soccer but now that soccer season is finishing up, our little guy wants to go back to swimming so we are heading back to All Star. read more

She is now able to safely swim in the pool which gives us that extra assurance which is priceless. The best place for swimming. My 4 year old autistic non verbal loves every minute he spends here. Ms. Tanya is amazing. She is very patient and knows how to get the best out of him. Ms. Camille has been so great at accommodating our schedule and helping out. My son finishes his breakfast when I say you need strength to swim. That's the amount of love and support we get here. My son started in November and by the end of January was able to float to stay safe if he accidentally got into the pool. For an autistic mom, this is huge. This is the old saying " you get what you pay for." Simply amazing! Some days my kids were in the pool alone, other days with 5 more. Both were great in experiencing different things. After much consideration and thought ( it's pricy ) we decided to give this a try and see what 1 week does. We invested heavy, doing 1hr and 45/30 min lessons for 1 week. My 10.5 year old quickly learned great survival skills, better swimming technique for her free-style, jumps, back strokes, and endurance. My 7.5 year old went from not swimming to swimming and jumping in. Worth every penny, (hundred dollar bill)!!! The instructors are amazing! This is our second week with All Star Swim Academy in Pleasanton. Simply put, All Star is excellent and my son is happy and thriving! Let me back up a little bit, so you'll understand just how amazing our experience has been so far! My son is autistic and at the time was non communicative with many sensory related fears. Three years ago, we started at American Swim Academy in Livermore which was traumatizing. They promised they worked with kids of special needs, took my money and lied! Each session was with a different teacher, none of the instructors took the time to break down instructions. They assumed that because he was autistic that he couldn't learn. They left him unattended, he wandered into the deeper section and he almost drowned. Due to this traumatic event, I still have to bath him in the kitchen sink because he panics around water. It's taken us almost four years to work up the nerve to try swimming again. At All Star Academy, Camille works the office and scheduling. She listened to our journey and was completely understanding of our needs. We work with Ms. Jess who is patient and instructs with calm and ease. She is and understanding of my son's challenges. In just two sessions, he is putting his face in the water, learning to breathe and turn over! For a parent of special needs, I can't stress how huge that is! I'm thankful to have found All Star and to be working with professionals that care like you are family! read more

We heard about All Star Swim School through some friends and when we read the Yelp Reviews we knew this was where we wanted to send our kids. They've been in "group" swim lessons the last several years at different gyms or swim schools in the South Bay but still can't swim. We decided to try their 15 minute weekly private lessons. I could not believe the results after just a few lessons. My daughter is now comfortable in the deep end. She's learning the more difficult butterfly stroke now. My son can swim the length of their pool with breathing now. Miss Alyssa is a wonderful teacher who truly cares and is patient. Water safety is #1. The facility is clean and well-maintained. We have been going to All Star Swim School for over 3 years now and this review is long overdue. We had been clients at another local swim school prior but didn't feel like our kids were progressing in the weekly group classes. Depending on the class size, the amount of time our kids actually got to swim varied. We also had been going there for awhile and their schedule was also always hard to align with ours and classes were waitlisted for months. My kids would get disheartened when they didn't get a lot of swim time during a lesson and they weren't moving up levels. We switched to All Star Swim and knew we had found our spot. Owned by the sweetest family and the best staff, in the office and in the water! They worked with us to find times that fit in all three of my kids and the one on one lesson was life changing. I know 15 minutes doesn't seem long, but my kids were swimming LESS in a 30 minute group lesson prior to coming here. The price is worth it. Within a couple of weeks, they were stronger and more confident swimmers, plus they loved their instructors and the individual time they got focusing on where they were at. All of the instructors we have had at All Star have been fantastic and truly have a love of water, swim, and instructing. My youngest daughter has many senscory issues and had a hard time at the begining. The school was able to work with us to find the best teacher for her. Miss Jess is amazing and I have nothing but good things to say about her. She helped my daughter to push past many of her fears and now she is like a fish in the pool. My older daughter loved all of her teachers and has really grown a love for swimming and all things water. The staff is more like a family and always so kind, helpful and compassionate. I cannot say enough wonderful things about All Star Swim School. From Camille in the office, to Ms. Romi and all the other instructors we have encountered- everyone has been a delight to work with. We are blown away by what this place did with our kids! My daughter was able to swim on her own within only a couple months and my son who is only 2.5 started here only a couple months ago and can now float on his back by himself and is swimming small lengths to his teacher! Both of my children absolutely love their swim lessons and have a great love for the water now because of it. The best swim school in the area, hands down. We found All-Star Swim School as a result of my son taking private swim classes with another instructor last summer and not getting anywhere. In fact, the instructor told me my son he was difficult to teach (he's speech delayed) and even called him her "failure student"! This broke my heart to hear since my son loves the water. My son then started his first day at All Star and his teacher, Ms. Tania, told me he did great. I told her that my son was speech delayed and had trouble taking instruction. She said that was no problem and told me different techniques she could use to communicate with him. Great! After going to swim lessons only 2 days a week for the past 10 months, my son is now swimming 10 laps across the pool along with jumping in by himself and diving for toys at the bottom of the water - all within a 15 minute lesson. My son has loved both of his instructors, Ms. Tania and Ms. Amanda and my younger son loves his teacher, Ms. Jen. All Star Swim School has been an all around terrific experience for both of my kids. All the instructors are very qualified and dedicated to each student. Lessons are only 15 minutes, but they are intense and your child will get a lot out of the 15 minutes. Yes, the price is not cheap, but given how quickly your child will advance I think you end up saving money in the end. I can't thank you enough, All Star! read more

I am writing this review after only one lesson but I was so impressed, I had to write it. First of all, Camille was a dream to work with. She got my 2 and 4 year on the waitlist and got them into lessons after only a couple of months of waiting. She responds super quickly to emails and phone calls and is very thorough in her responses. We had our first lesson yesterday. My 4 year old can be very cautious around new people and new experiences. He loves the water and is very close to swimming but I knew the initial handoff might be tricky. By the time we arrived at the lesson, he was pretty worked up and was screaming and crying. Within SECONDS, Miss Tania had him in the water, smiling, happy as can be. Like I don't actually know how she did it. The lesson went so well and he came out of the pool with the biggest smile on his face, asking when he can come back, and if the lesson can be longer next time. My 2 year old is less hesitant around new people and, especially after seeing how happy his brother was, went off with Miss Tania immediately. I loved the quick reports she was able to give me right after each lesson. We look forward to more swimming at All-Star! read more

My son started with Mr. Brian VERY scared of the water, there were many tears and tantrums that he calmly and professionally worked through. I am updating my rating to 5* !! We began at AS with our oldest child and now our youngest is attending. The teachers are all professionals (not moonlighting high school swim team members), and the quality of instruction is superb. Much better than some competing schools in the area. The pool is clean and big, but they only have 2 kids in the pool at a time with each in one-on-one session so there are no distractions (as you might find elsewhere). The price is competitive and fair. Private lessons are not cheap, but your child will learn much faster and you don't have to worry about another child getting all the attention. The bathrooms and observation rooms are clean and spacious. And parking is easy too. It took about a year per child, but my son and daughter both learned to swim well and they are now all over the pool. Don't expect your child to become self-sufficient overnight on the once-a-week program, but you will see gradual progress and then one day it will all come together and presto - they will be swimming on their own for hours. Lately management has been very accommodating when we've asked to reschedule upcoming lessons due to planned summer vacations and to change time slots. We checked out other schools before coming here, and this one is the best, hands down! read more

We highly recommend sending yours kids there for swim lessons! My daughter didn't like water on her face although she likes to play in water. She was hesitant to take swim lessons. After watching how my son had so much fun with the instructor every week, my daughter finally agreed to take lessons (when she was 6). The instructor was able to inspire her to submerge her whole head under water on the very first lesson! The owners are awesome! The office manager is super friendly and is always willing to work things out with me. The swim instructors are all superb, full of energy, encouraging, engaging, kind! It doesn't matter who you are assigned to, they are all great! They are a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it as they have excellent techniques that teach the kids how to float to save themselves (this is the first thing they teach) and how to swim the 4 different strokes step by step!
