Over the course of just a couple months of weekly…read morelessons, my son (almost 4) went from not wanting to get in the pool and crying half of the lesson to asking everyday if he had swim lessons everyday and wanting to go to the local pool. My son's teacher, Dakota, made my son feel very comfortable and safe in the pool and got him to do things I never thought he would do - not just put his face in the water but fully submerge his head and float on his back, among many other new skills. Every week he would learn something new. But most of all, my son was so proud of himself after every lesson. And Mom and dad are proud, too! We will definitely be signing up for lessons again next summer, and we will be signing our youngest up for lessons once he is 3!

Sherman Swim School is the best! My (now) 8yr old daughter had attended swim sessions over the past…read morefew years, and it totally prepared her for her dream of being on a swim team. Her teachers were fantastic and they fine-tuned each lesson to turn her weaknesses into strengths. They made each lesson fun and my daughter always left the pool wishing she could swim longer. I also realize the focus they placed on technique and timing created a solid foundation for her to grow from. She can swim all four strokes, is now a very confident swimmer and having a blast on the swim team. She even tells me she might be interested in diving down the road, and we'll know exactly where to go to learn! It was easy to work with them to schedule days and times to fit what worked for us best (as my daughter's activities seem to change all the time). We could always count on having a day to swim and my daughter looked forward to it every week. In summary, Steve, Laurie and all the teachers are the best. We couldn't recommend Sherman Swim School more!

Our family has been a huge fan of ASA WC! Everyone is warm, welcoming and encouraging. The facility…read moreis top notch! Ask for Coach Troy! He's easily the best instructor at ASA - especially for the Adult Swim program! He has an incredible eye for pinpointing exactly where you're stuck and giving clear, actionable feedback to fix it immediately. In just one quarter, he solved my decade-long struggle with air exchange, got me swimming freestyle laps, taught me to tread water, and now has me working on my backstroke. I was about to accept that swimming is not for me but he truly changed the game for me. Troy also taught my baby (AQUAbabies program) -- building foundational floating and kicking skills that paid off all summer long. My youngest lovesss the water now and is comfortable and fearless. Thanks to Troy, I can finally join in on water activities and genuinely enjoy being in the pool with my kids. Also, a shoutout to Coach Hannah at ASA -- she is phenomenal, especially for toddlers and preschoolers! She took my oldest from barely being able to float to comfortably kicking, rolling over, and doing air exchange. There's a lightness to her teaching style -- exactly what that age group needs to feel safe and engaged. She is endlessly encouraging and adapts seamlessly to kids who need a different approach to learning. Thanks to her, my preschooler genuinely loves being in the water now. I can't recommend Coach Hannah enough! Highly recommend ASA WC!

I wanted to update my review…read more We had some challenges due to instructor turnover, which was really hard for my child who needs consistency and a higher level of support. I understand that changes happen, but it would mean a lot to families like ours to be informed ahead of time and have a smoother transition. As a special needs family, it's not always easy to find places that can truly accommodate. There are moments I feel defeated and wonder how we'll make things work. That said, I truly appreciate the director for listening, apologizing, and working with us. With the added support, my child is now back to learning how to swim which is so important for her. Thank you for supporting our family.

I show up to my lesson and before I even finish removing my sweatpants, the instructor, Shani states that the pool is Chilly. I respond, "I thought the pool was heated?" He states it is but it's chilly today and they only rent space so they can't control the temperature. He also states he is under the weather and wouldn't even be getting in the pool unless I really wanted him to. Why would I want someone who is sick being hands on during my lesson? And why would an instructor not just reschedule if something that should be hands on, like a swim lesson, is required if they were sick. Long story short, I couldn't do the lesson and was refused a refund. Wonderful! If you like cold pools and the instructor watching you flail on the sidelines, then go for it!

While I wasn't afraid of pools or the ocean, I'd drown if I found myself in deep water without a life vest. I decided to finally take the plunge and learn in my 30s, and I'm so glad I found Woody! At the time, she was offering lessons in Oakland, and I chose her because it was in my neighborhood. Although the 1:1 lessons were a bit pricey for my budget at the time, they were worth it! After a few months of lessons, I was able to get past the mental barrier I had around deep water and finally learned how to tread water. Beyond that, Woody equipped me with numerous skills and techniques to feel confident and comfortable in the water. Let me tell you, learning to swim as an adult is no easy feat, but having a fantastic instructor makes all the difference. I highly recommend Woody for swim lessons! Thank you, Woody!

Splash Swim School in Walnut Creek has been outstanding for our family. What makes this place so…read morespecial is not just the program, it is the people. Coach Fio, Ryan, and Devon have been incredibly patient, encouraging, and kind with our kids. And Conor, the manager, truly sets the tone. He goes above and beyond to make families feel supported and welcomed, and it is clear he genuinely cares about each child's experience. Our kids can be tough customers and there have been plenty of lessons where they did not want to get in the water at all. The team never gets frustrated or makes it feel like a problem. They stay patient, meet the kids where they are, and keep the focus on helping them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. What we appreciate most is that they make learning fun while still teaching real water safety and swimming skills. That balance is not easy, and this team does it so well. We are very grateful for the care, consistency, and heart they bring every week. Highly recommend Splash Swim School, especially this Walnut Creek team.
