I'm immensely appreciative of them for opening up and coming up with a system for those of us jonesing to get in a pool. They're a saltwater pool now (I just moved to the area, but my understanding is that they did not used to be saline), which I love as it's a little easier on skin and hair. In addition, they keep the place immaculate- every time I'm there swimming, there are lifeguards wiping down all the surfaces repeatedly, and they enforce social distancing very well. I'm really excited to get to swim here more often once things calm down.

I spoke up and told her friend that we were in line and that they basically cut. It's adjacent to Larkey Park, so if the shared parking lots get full, you'll find plenty of free street parking. The pool itself is divided into several section - beginners (3.5 to 4.5 feet max depth), diving, and for lap swimming. They have lifeguards everywhere and they do a fine job of maintaining order. The water temperature was perfect. Our 5yo son seems to have a natural inkling for water but he enjoyed the pool far more than the splash pad, which is also popular with young kids. I tried carrying him up on the water slide but he refused. Note: for taller folks, they have a pretty intense water spray on top of the slide that can blind you. Imagine max shower pressure right on your face, LOL! Other amenities are large locker and changing rooms with clean showers, small picnic areas for sun tanning or relaxing, and plenty of benches and tables to store your bags or snacks. They also have a vending machine for cold drinks. Definitely plan on returning when the pool opens up again (9/27/25 was the last day for the summer). A definite bargain at just over $20 for a family of three.

On vacation last summer, her aunt (a former D1 diver) showed her some dives and suggested she just "try" diving. They looked online, found Cal Diving Academy, and sent an e-mail. Coach Eric called my daughter that afternoon to tell her about the program and suggested she come in the following week just to try it out. My daughter did not intend to switch sports then and there, but she loved diving and everything about Cal Diving Academy. From day one, the coaches and the other divers have been welcoming, friendly, and inclusive. The coaching has been incredible. Her diving is beautiful and she has learned so much. More importantly, the coaches show incredible kindness, compassion, and are very attentive to the whole athlete. Guiding them gently through fears and getting to know them as people. I am so grateful that my daughter found coach Eric and Cal Diving Academy. She is a happier person having found this new home away from home.

And he again replied "no we don't " so I asked again "so never then?" Which he answered he. When I told him that he was wrong because I know of someone who's used their 5 day pass 2 days in a row and questioned why they were able to use theirs he then stated "it's on a case by case basis" which I said "so you do accept them?" He stated "yea" so I asked "why did you say then that you never accept them but you do on a case by case basis? What constitutes the case by case?" He said they need to confirm that the person has never worked out there before and were local and needed to show proof that they're local" I stated "I wasn't even offered that, I was told flat out you don't honor 5 day passes and you yourself confirmed that but now you change your story? Why? Because I don't have boobs and this person did? Sounds shady and like discrimination to me"then he hung up. Also I had asked to speak with the gym's manager named Sidney, he said Sidney was out on a medical issue and said he isn't working and wouldn't contact me back which Enrique, the Sales Manager from the day before said that Sidney was working remote and would call me...I still haven't heard from him either. However my kids will be the oldest ones with floatees on and it's about that time! They've been crying at swimming lessons so I thought I would give it at a try at our community pool, where they have have had nothing but happy memories. So you're probably wondering why you should shell out $$$ for lessons: 1. They are not that much more when you consider the convenience of lessons at your pool when you want them 2. One on one or semi-private, as opposed to 4 Kids to a class! 3. The teacher progresses at your child's pace, not to the lowest denominator. Within 9 minutes (yes, count them), teacher Mark had them doing "Big Arms". My kids have been doing "torpedoes" and floats forever in group lessons. I don't recall them doing arms. Then they moved to the deep. At this rate we will be out of floatees in 2 weeks! If you want your kids to learn water safety and to swim at their own pace, this is the way to go!!! I may sign up my oldest as well to get her ready for competitive swim team!

The tools in the wood shop are great, and the instructors really know their stuff. What's more, those guys sure know how to keep a sharp edge on their equipment. Tuition is, in my opinion, up to what one would expect to pay in today's economy, especially considering that everyone is scrambling for cash to stay afloat, even the local government and its affiliated programs. The registration process on the archaic website is a touch on the byzantine side, though. It looks a lot like the very first website I ever coded when I was 16 years old. Uhh, now that I think about it, it looks like the website I designed a few years ago. But I'm no web designer, so hah! Point being, you're gonna have to dig around a little bit to find what you're looking for, but once you've found it, the actual act of registering for a class is pretty straightforward. Now, back to the woodworking instructors: Between the Bill and Dave, they've got about 70 years experience, 20 fingers, 20 toes, and 8 eyes (they both wear glasses). So I trust them to teach me the ways. I don't know if I'll ever be able to snatch the pebble from their hands, but I'm confident that they're showing me how to keep all my phalanges and body parts so that I could snatch that pebble, even if only in theory. I plan on taking many more courses here, especially in the "Working with Wood" category of classes. Now go forth and learn something new!
