My son's teacher, Dakota, made my son feel very comfortable and safe in the pool and got him to do things I never thought he would do - not just put his face in the water but fully submerge his head and float on his back, among many other new skills. Every week he would learn something new. But most of all, my son was so proud of himself after every lesson. And Mom and dad are proud, too! We will definitely be signing up for lessons again next summer, and we will be signing our youngest up for lessons once he is 3!

I understand that changes happen, but it would mean a lot to families like ours to be informed ahead of time and have a smoother transition. As a special needs family, it's not always easy to find places that can truly accommodate. There are moments I feel defeated and wonder how we'll make things work. That said, I truly appreciate the director for listening, apologizing, and working with us. With the added support, my child is now back to learning how to swim which is so important for her. We're continuing because it's building both skill and self esteem for them. Our 5 year old in particular is shy and tends to quit trying if he feels challenged, having this opportunity to build a skill he feels competent in is really valuable for him at this age. The kids loved the giant inflatable and diving board in the deep pool. Now the bad...we visited during the week and thought it would be quiet yet we were proved wrong. When we arrived at 1p it was quiet yet soon the place was crawling with camps and large groups of kids. While we were there, one group was in the large pool and someone in their group decided it was a good idea to in the pool. The pool was immediately cleared so the same group went to the shallow pool and decided they were going to in that pool too. This left only the deep pool open with tons of kids waiting in line for the diving board and obstacle course. Another thing to note the only way to get to the pool is by going through the locker room. We had to take our children through a room of older women walking around naked freely. Gross! There should be another entrance for families with children. Overall too many minuses to out weigh the pluses.

Coach Fio, Ryan, and Devon have been incredibly patient, encouraging, and kind with our kids. And Conor, the manager, truly sets the tone. He goes above and beyond to make families feel supported and welcomed, and it is clear he genuinely cares about each child's experience. Our kids can be tough customers and there have been plenty of lessons where they did not want to get in the water at all. The team never gets frustrated or makes it feel like a problem. They stay patient, meet the kids where they are, and keep the focus on helping them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. What we appreciate most is that they make learning fun while still teaching real water safety and swimming skills. That balance is not easy, and this team does it so well. She apparently drank too much on July 4th and our July 5th lesson was cancelled last minute. The instructor we had last was too aggressive with my son to the point where he didn't want to go anymore. It is also wildly overpriced and they are very aggressive with their billing practices. We quit in early September and they wouldn't let the drop take effect until three more bills went through.

Even during COVID, it felt overwhelming, and progress was slow. Then we switched to ASA Livermore, where, unfortunately, a teacher once pushed him into the pool despite his discomfort with water in his eyes. That experience really set him back, and we paused swimming altogether in 2023. Fast forward to 2025, we gave All Star a try. It's only been 1.5 months, and the transformation is incredible. Not only does he love the water, but he looks forward to every class. He's already jumping in, kicking, floating, and taking risk, all in just 15-minute sessions! It's definitely pricey, but the progress has made it absolutely worth it. Camille has also been wonderful... so warm, accommodating, and great with kids. The whole environment here feels positive and welcoming. We're really grateful we made the switch.

We love Sherman Swim School! I am an actual customer. My kids took swimming lessons and got to see…read morethe big kids diving, and now they are divers themselves. At Sherman, they are very attentive and always looking for ways to help their customers. The pool is perfectly heated, so ideal place for winter/spring lessons. The facility is nice and clean, with seating, umbrellas, and a fine mist for the hot summer afternoons. I highly recommend this place if you want private swimming lessons or diving lessons for your kids.

She can swim all four strokes, is now a very confident swimmer and having a blast on the swim team. She even tells me she might be interested in diving down the road, and we'll know exactly where to go to learn! It was easy to work with them to schedule days and times to fit what worked for us best (as my daughter's activities seem to change all the time).
