If you are looking for a year around place your child can swim and exercise/stay in shape or perfect their stokes, you have found your home. The coaches are amazing! This review is way overdue. I took my son to Shelby for ISR in 2019. My personal experience with…read moreShelby was not a good one. Granted, it was her first time doing ISR, but she was not my cup of tea. When you are working with babies and children, I feel like you should have a kind way about you... you should ENJOY working with children or you shouldn't be doing so. When working with my son, she became easily frustrated and it was plainly evident. It was evident to my (at the time) 10 month old, as well. It affected his entire experience and outcome. The thing that REALLY rubbed me the wrong way was the fact that when I turned on my camera to video my son floating, she became sweet as pie. Her whole demeanor changed; the frustration left her face, the tone of her voice changed, she played with him, did "look at the bubbles!", etc. completely fake. And then as soon as my phone went down, she reverted back to the cold, uncaring person she was before. Harsh review, I know, but it's the truth. I would not take my children back and would strongly advise friends and family to seek lessons elsewhere.

We found Shelby White after months of searching for infant swim instructors. Being a first-time…read moremom, I really didn't know what I was looking for, but did know I wanted to enroll my son in some type of water safety classes. Although we don't have a pool at home, we have relatives with pools and we love to take the kayaks out on the water. Now that my son was walking, I wanted to make sure I took the necessary precautions before subjecting my son to a potentially dangerous situation. Long story short, we came across Delta Babies and I contacted Shelby to see what options we had. She responded right away and offered her available spots for the next season. We were provided a ton of information on the ISR program and the benefits it has and signed our son up right away. I was thankful she was able to fit us in, on such short notice (her schedule fills up quick)! For the first few weeks, my son cried the entire time, which I guess is normal for some kids. After about week 3, he was actually practicing his floats and rotations in the tub on his own. I love that Shelby will work with kids that need additonal time at no charge! Our son finished the float course and we have him enrolled in the next course which starts in a few weeks. I've asked him if he wants to go swim with Shelby again and he now says "Yah, Sha-Bee". I honestly have nothing bad to say about Shelby. She is an amazing instructor, very outgoing, and is great with kids. I'm so glad we found her!

What a disappointing and careless experience this has been. My son had been taking lessons for 7…read moremonths, once a week. There has been basically 1% progress. The instructors are all just youngsters that seem to care less about how to actually teach a child to swim, than to just hang around snd talk to each other during an already short class. My son won't even jump in the pool, or be loose on his own for more than 5 seconds. That's after 7 months. I stated my concerns to both instructors he had lessons with and the manager. No ribbons, not even the face in the water one, no motivation, no progress, and no bother even caring when we said we were just going to quit the school. This place is an overcrowded joke of a "school".

Cyndie was able to manage her AND teach her. She also helped her love swimming. So much that she actually agreed to join our local swim team this year without all the normal resistance that we usually get when we suggest new activities. That is a HUGE win in my book, only made possible by Cyndie. Cyndie is respectful of MY time and my investment. She starts every lesson time and gives my daughter focused attention during the whole lesson. Her online scheduling was easy, quick, and clear, accommodating my hectic summer schedule. The price honestly took me back. More than any other swim teachers I've done with my others kids. As I think of my 2 other kids swim lessons, they spent much of the lesson trying to convince them to get into the cold pool, and managing their shivers. Cyndie HEATS her pool. (And as a PG and E customer and pool owner, I KNOW this is not cheap $$$) What I also know is, warm water equals quicker learning and more success. And that is what Lodi Swim Training has provided my daughter, Success and a love for swimming.

If you are looking for swim lessons, please be aware of sending your kids to All-Star Swim School…read morein Pleasanton. They claim that they will design specialized instructions for all kids, but they do not. We have only been to 8 classes the past 1.5 months, they terminated my kid's lessons due to safety reasons with no prior warnings what-so-ever. They said he runs around the pool (this has improved), he jumps on chairs (well, he stims, as many other ASD kiddies do) which I correct him every time and keep close eye on him at all times, he runs in the parking lot, this happened one time, and I watch him as he runs to the waiting area and there is no moving cars around. During the last class, in last 5 minutes, he was just done and wanted to get out, out of frustration he smacked her (instructor) in the face and head butted her. I was horrified because this is truly out of character and I apologized to her, she responded "it's not my first rodeo.' I was completely caught off guard when the owner called me to terminate our lessons with no prior warnings or if he does this again, we will have to terminate 2 days before the next lesson. I know autistic kiddos can be difficult at times, but don't preach what you don't practice. They could have told me that the head butting cannot happen again and I would 100% understand because I agree, this cannot happen again. I do not appreciate the lack of communication here. While my child did not behave perfectly, it would be nice to get a warning which you did once regarding running around the pool that I have corrected since the conversation. This is NOT how you do business. I highly against recommending enrolling your kids there - it is unprofessional and rude and I am deeply offended by their action. Again, DO NOT PREACH WHAT YOU DON'T PRACTICE. Thankfully, Camille and Tania were great, otherwise, this place is highly unprofessional.
