I have been coming to Pace West since knee pain developed 4 or more years ago and Darcy fixed me up. They have helped me thru surgeries, rehab. Everyone is super professional and great to work with. Currently I see Trevor for dry needling, shockwave + laser therapy on problem spots. I am 60 and want to keep moving and be active into my late 80's. Their videos are extremely beneficial as well. Great office. I sent my active 21 yr old son there for rehab when he tore his achilles skiing and it was a complete tear but high up above the ski boot, unable to have surgery. I started coming in mid January after I tore my ACL while skiing. I have been working with Henry and have made an amazing about of progress since then. He listened to my requests and used his best judgment based on what I wanted to get back to and made me a program that helped me get so much stronger before my scheduled surgery. My friends and family are all astonished by how far I have come in the 6 weeks I have been coming to PT at Pace West. Pelvic floor PT with Erin. She truly goes above and beyond. Not just to heal your body/muscles but to connect that with your mind- I learned that physical therapy is overcoming mental hurdles too. For example if you're stressed then your muscles tense up. I've never felt so comfortable and understood by a medical professional. I felt heard and it was easy to speak up if something didn't feel right. Definitely notice a difference in the way i carry myself now, not just my pelvic muscles, but that has also drastically improved. Honestly life changing! I recently had my first appointment with Jenny to address an issue I'd been having with my hip. I'd been to two other PTs (as well as had a couple of sports massage and acupuncture) and I was still having pain. My appt with Jenny was great. I felt like she was the first person that really took the time to listen, evaluate my problem, and give me some very clear direction on what to do next. She even sent an email that evening with a review of what we talked about and videos on the exercises she suggested. After prolonged sitting at a meditation retreat in May 2015, my hip was sore. Within weeks of leaving the retreat I had limited mobility and eventually couldn't rotate my leg. The pain inside my hip was unbearable, I was limping and my back was constantly aching. I was recommended to see Trevor at Pace West and it was the best thing I could have done for myself! Trevor is a compassionate and expert physical therapist. He very carefully helped me to rejoin the world of 'normal' walkers and after a year of his guidance I can now walk, swim and complete gentle yoga. Through exercises, needling and stretching recommendations Trevor has helped me to heal my hip. I can hardly believe that a year ago I could barely walk and was in constant acute pain. As a competitive gymnast and dancer as a child, and a dancer and yoga enthusiast as an adult, I have been seeing physical therapists for the best part of my life. Trevor is by far the best I have seen and I have, and will continue, to recommend him to anyone I meet who is in need of expert and highest quality care. Went here last year for help with back pain/muscle spasm I had been having from my kyphosis. They were not able to help whatsoever and just gave me some online stretches that never helped. They were way too soft on my back during the massage stuff and wouldn't even touch my back the first time I was there because we ran out of time while he was asking me questions. My old physical therapist would stick her elbow way in all over and it would help a lot. Nothing they did here ever helped and they couldn't even tell me the name of the muscle I was having trouble with. He just said "there's lots of muscles in the back. It could be any of them". I went to a chiropractor and he fixed me and was able to tell me what muscle it was and actually gave me exercises to strengthen my back and make it not happen again in like 10 min total. Rather than 4 long visits here that resulted in no meaningful help whatsoever. They just want your money here. I recommend trying somewhere else. The muscle was called the rhomboid btw. read more

I have many severe and long term injuries. Spinal issues, 2 blown knees and two broken elbows. I was hurt pretty badly in the Boulder Floods a few years ago. Ross was instrumental in my recovery from injuries. This year I received a small grant to try and find a way to really recover some health and vitality. I am 54 and felt like I was 80. I got winded easily and everything hurt. Just walking up a flight of stairs was a big deal. Ross recommended Trevor and he and Trevor worked together to develop a plan to help me. That was 9 weeks ago. Trevor is incredibly supportive and knowledgeable and was invaluable in helping me to create and develop a real recovery and fitness plan as well as addressing and helping to heal mechanical issues I was was dealing with. I cannot recommend Trevor or his team highly enough. the staff is great and helpful and supportive and my experience has been thoroughly healing. Today I have lost weight, my average daily pain issues are down significantly and I am well on the road to recovery. I have been dealing with chronic shoulder pain my entire life. I've sought treatment in different ways throughout the years but never found relief like I did in the Pace West PT office with Paul. Paul worked with my to combine different treatments, most prominently dry needling, to give me complete relief for days on end, which is something I had never experienced before. Needless to say, the work I did with him was healing and very emotional for me and Paul was with me every step of the way. I have been seeing Mike at Pace West since September for post ACL surgery physical therapy. First off, Pace accepts medical insurance where most physical therapists in Boulder do not. Secondly, they are super helpful and cheerful at the front desk. Finally, Mike really knows the body mechanics and has given me useful exercises that I actually do outside of PT, as well as, provide knowledgable information about the progress my body is making each week. I started PT about a month ago with Darcy and Katie, and I can't say enough how happy I've been with my experience! I had hip surgery 18 months ago, and I moved to Boulder mid-way through my rehab process. For my first ~10 months in Boulder, I'd been going to PT elsewhere and I just wasn't making progress in getting back to my pre-surgery level of activity. I had 10 AMAZING sessions with Amanda and she was incredible. Amanda is a ankle wizard, had changed my pain level from a 10 down to a 0/1, through her working sessions and stretches/exercises to do at home. I had come in after a minor surgery after I'd been having persistent pain in one of my ankles in the morning time. So I started with not being able to put weight on my ankle right when I'd hop out of bed in the morning with level 10 pain, to easily walking on it in the morning. We'd spend about half of the time physically working the area on the table and the other half running through exercises I could not do at home. Amanda made sure to walk through all exercises with me to make sure I understood them. She made sure I understood the big picture and how to help the health of my ankle. Amanda is very thoughtful, sincere, and persistent. When my ankle would not stop cracking she was determined to massage the areas and figure out the source of the cracks. The best part is, after our 10 sessions she wrote up several exercises to take back with me and do for several months. I also received a summary that I could review with my doctor. As for the other staff I was always greeted by my first name and they were all so helpful. I had scheduled my appointments in 3-5 increments and always found perfect times that worked with my schedule. I cannot stress enough my positive experience with Pace West and Amanda! read more

Couldn't be happier. My issue started in lower back and impacted my right leg. My goal was to make this annoying physical setback "the best thing to happen to me" - and with Darcy's guidance, it's working. I couldn't reach over to put on my own socks and shoes without severe pain, and had to pick up and move my right leg (it wouldn't do what my brain told it to do). Hiking? Grim. Enter Darcy. She was/is my "QB extraordinaire." Between Darcy's own manual talents, lifestyle coaching (whole30 diet to reduce background inflammation, and getting back in the pool), plus work done by other PW staff (especially Trevor), and Alexis, a DO therapist outside their group she referred me to, I ultimately had a "light-switch" experience: In early phase of my treatment (symptoms still severe, my outlook somewhat dim that AM) I mentioned a different/new symptom I had experienced...after an "A-ha!", some magic hands went to work and within MINUTES I got off the table with NO PAIN. Gone. Right leg functions fully again - no limitations. I was stunned, forever grateful, and am super motivated to keep going with their exercise recommendations, etc. They work as a seamless team to help you achieve your goals, and it helps that they're really lovely, smart, and technically top-shelf professionals. read more

The thing I like most about Pace West is the personal attention they provide. I saw Trevor for neck problems and headaches. He spent the 45 minute sessions with me, understanding the problem, manipulating my neck and providing exercises for me to do at home. He was very professional and caring. I saw him every time. I had an experience at a different pt office where I always saw a different therapist, was in a big workout room with other patients and therapists, and my pt was juggling several patients at the same time. 5 stars may not be enough. In November 2013, i was in a car accident which appeared minor. I started seeing Amber Thompson, chiropractor, as i thought i needed some adjusting. She was helping greatly, but we decided i needed to try needling with Paul. Paul was great! Patient yet held me to the pt exercises. Listened when modifications were needed. After a few months, I was able to walk BOTH directions around the block. Seems small but to a skier/backcountry/mtn biker, it was a major step in the right direction. :-) I'm skiing and everything now! Ok, still too scared to rollerblade... Donna read more
