Came here for takeout dinner. The service was friendly and prompt wait time. This is a return visit and will return for more. The ambiance is casual. The food is a good size and tasty.

Came to try their seared salmon and it was perfectly torched and good amount of sauce! Gandhi was decent nice citrus flavor. Bento salmon teriyaki was good great portion but not enough rice.. gyoza crispy! other than that great!

You shouldn't have to use a spoon to eat sushi. All the rice is hard and falling apart. This isn't fresh.

We will never order from this location again. I'm more than one occasion. The sushi was old. Not prepared within 20 to 30 minutes but more like a half a day or more.

Tried more rolls this time, crunchy tempura and spicy hamachi, both good! Also got the salad. Ordered delivery and everything was fresh.

I was so happy to find this place! This place seems to specialize in takeout, but there's tables and seating if you want to dine in. I tried their chicken katsu bento and I was blown away with the quality and portion size. A bento can easily feed 2 if you don't eat large amounts. Food is definitely on the heavier side. They also serve sushi. Would definitely come back to try them.

This order was both intense, and inspiring. A HUGE fun lil BIG bowl of delicious fresh things. Quality is outstanding. It's not to hole in the wall ish. Pretty clean and sterile inside. Even the $2.50 side salad was fun to eat.

This place was clean and had lots of menus up. A lot looked good but I went with the Pa's Papa Box to get a nice sampler. I ordered the teriyaki salmon (per recommendation) with the vegetable gyoza and spicy tuna roll. My brother got the Pa's Papa Box with beef, combo tempura and spicy tuna roll. We decided to share the teriyaki beef and fish. The soup was ok. The salad was beautifully crunchy. I was a bit worried getting salmon since I really don't like overcooked salmon, but the salmon was perfectly cooked and delicious. The beef was so tender. The gyoza weren't too heavy or oily. The spicy tuna roll was pleasantly spicy, tasty and sizeable. Overall I'm so happy to have a good place in the area with great service and tasty food for a cost that doesn't break the bank. The fact that it's open late is icing on the cake.

Salmon teriyaki plate! Two big pieces of salmon! Deal!

Ordered a salmon teriyaki plate $16.95 and a bento (chicken katsu, combo tempura and tuna roll) $18.95. Pretty affordable especially for the huge portions! Service was good. Food was above average. Combo tempura was really good. It's a must try. I didn't even get to eat it hot. I drove my plate home to enjoy. Chicken katsu was crispy, but chicken was a bit thin. Still good though. The spicy tuna was made well - sushi rice good and tuna was decent. The salmon teriyaki was cooked perfectly - wasn't overly cooked like most places and was extra moist. Now cooked well, but not salted enough. All it needed was just a little more salt or seasoning. Also, they gave two huge pieces of salmon. When portions are large, it always makes me question whether they are trying to make up for some shortfall. And that brings me to the smell of cleaner fluid. I don't know if they are just constantly cleaning in the kitchen or it's the aerosol in the air at the restaurant, but the entire time I ate at home, I could smell cleaner fluid. This smell is very similar to the smell of bleach when you go to a Mexican restaurant like Casa Revolucion. It's the same cleaner smell that I experienced dining in at Casa. That was the off putting part. Anyway, between the two of us, we both couldn't finish the plates. In fact, we didn't even touch the salad. I did sip the miso soup and that was so salty, that my blood pressure must have spiked. I threw away the miso soups and salads. Put the leftover chicken katsu and salmon in the fridge. Baked it the next day and wow, chicken katsu was crispy and still yummy. The salmon was still moist too! Lastly, it was my first time in that neighborhood and let's just say, I was high on alert the whole time because it felt slightly sketchy.

Good standard Japanese American food. Front is painted dark grey and their sign is behind a tree, just by the fish and chips place. The bentos are huge - A got chicken katsu (he loved that there were two layers of fried goodness) mixed tempura (nice assortment tho prolly better if eaten at the restaurant because tempura) and california rolls (huge, lots of krab, a bit of avocado), and of course iceberg lettuce salad with mayo based dressing. vegetarians may be able cobble together something but this place is not for vegans. they have takoyaki with katsu and spicy mayo sauces (no aonori nor red ginger). They're open til 9:30 weekdays and 10:30 weekends. Hope they get love from the community.

Love having this place in the Laurel! I stopped by the first time today and ordered a bento box and two sushi rolls. They made them quickly and the food was great. The sushi tasted fresh and the portions were generous.

It's better this way. Try it. Saturday was unusual in that they were short staffed and almost at capacity. The food and service did not suffer. I'm not so sure I'd be that pleasant if I had to serve the entire restaurant on my own. To add to the vibe, I dropped the soy sauce container. Fortunately, me and my light pink shirt were the only casualties, but I made a huge mess. Napkins were thrown my way by other customers. I cleaned the table and floor. Yes, I really went for it. Most of the soy sauce was on me and my shoes. The server apologized she didn't completely wipe up my mess. No worries. It was my fault. Hashi Gawa has become a fave for Dad and I. It should be yours too.

First time trying this spot . Dine in review let's get into it !…read more Me and babe have been on a sushi kick lately since coming back from Japan. He found this place so we went to give it a try. It's in a plaza so there's parking . When you walk in it's a cute store front . Modern but cozy . Customer service was nice and fun . Our waitress was very helpful . Oysters on the half shell were fresh. Yall know that's my favorite and I'll never tell no lies ! The sauce they put on it was a nice touch and not overbearing the fresh oyster taste ! Tempura has a nice crispy batter and the prawns were plump not skimpy or chewy . I also got the Santa Barbara hand roll because I really wanted uni but they don't sell uni as an appetizer. The hand roll itself was good nice flavor loved the salmon eggs , just wish there was more uni ( probably because that's what I really wanted lol I'm being honest okay ). But the star of the show for me was the SPICY LION KING ROLL . I've had plenty of lion king rolls throughout the years but never had a spicy one and it was bomb . I think what makes it spicy is the sauce they use . Wasn't too hot just an extra little kick to everything going on . We were sitting right next to the sushi makers and they overheard us talking about how good it was and they loved our vibe . We chatted and got to a point they gave us a free dessert which was so good ! I forgot the name but it was like a soft fluffy pancake filled with cold cream like vanilla ice cream ! I'd definitely give them a try and would come again .

We were seated about an hour later, but once we got in, the service was quick and efficient. We ordered a mix of items to share: * Enoki chips - absolutely addicting. Perfectly crispy with a great crunch, and the umami spice on the side took them to another level. * Chicken karaage - tasty overall, but the glaze was poured over everything. I would've preferred it on the side to keep the texture crisp. * Kani hand roll - super fresh and flavorful; didn't even need soy sauce. * Ikura & hotate hand roll - generous portion and very fresh, again no soy needed. * Garlic Knockout ramen - lives up to the name. Rich, deeply garlicky broth that was bold and delicious. * Signature smoked toripaitan ramen - flavorful without being overly heavy (which I prefer). The chashu was tender and the noodles tasted fresh. I was blown away by the food, I haven't had ramen this good in a long time. The restaurant clearly runs efficiently, turning tables quickly despite the wait. I'll definitely be back

The restaurant was packed and seating is pretty limited, so I'd highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. The atmosphere is lively and energetic with casual Japanese eatery vibes, and service was friendly throughout the meal. Everything felt creative, rich in flavor, and very texture-focused. Here are the highlights: * Ankimo Mousse (monkfish liver) with sweet potato chips - Made with truffle paste, capers, and chives. Absolutely delicious. The mousse was rich and savory but surprisingly fluffy in texture -- honestly a savory girl's dream. The sweet potato chips added just enough sweetness and a snap to balance the richness of the liver. 9/10 * Bluefin Tuna & Tsubugai Sashimi Nuta - Bluefin tuna, sea snail, broccolini, and fresh wakame tossed in a sweet Kyoto yuzu miso vinaigrette. Kind of like a sashimi-seaweed salad. I really liked the vinaigrette and especially the texture of the sea snail. I'm not sure all the ingredients fully came together cohesively, but it was still enjoyable overall. 7.5/10 * Yuba (house-made tofu skin with ikura and uni) - Served as single bites on spoons. SO good. You can really taste the difference between house-made tofu skin and store-bought. It's much more delicate, creamy, and tender, with a mild soybean flavor that balanced the richness of the uni and salmon roe beautifully. The textures in this bite were incredible. 9.5/10 * Iberico Pork Jowl Skewer with miso marinade - I honestly prefer pork jowl over pork belly. The fat and meat are more integrated instead of layered, so every bite is tender, juicy, and flavorful with just the right amount of chew. So good. 9/10 * Clam & Cilantro Ramen - I've never had a ramen broth quite like this. It was slightly creamy and deeply flavored from the clams, and the cilantro added a lot of depth and freshness. The noodles had a great texture too -- chewy and bouncy. Everything worked together perfectly. 9/10 * Uni Carbonara Pasta - Pasta with parmesan, uni, and ikura. They do not skimp on the uni or roe here. Super creamy and rich with bursts of saltiness from the ikura. The texture was great, but I honestly wished it had just a tiny bit more salt to really make all the flavors pop. It was almost there for me. 7.5/10 * Desserts - We tried two desserts, including the sweet potato brûlée. Both were delicious. One had a silky panna cotta-like texture, while the sweet potato brûlée was creamy, lightly sweet, and had the perfect crackly sugar top. 9/10 Overall, such a fun meal with a lot of unique dishes and flavor combinations. There are still so many things on the menu I want to try next time. I'll definitely be back.

The standouts were the corn tempura, the sushi and the beef okonomiyaki. The skewers were good but not great; I felt the pork belly was a tad salty, and some of the pieces of the beef were slightly overcooked + chewy. The black cod was flaky but I wish it was marinated a bit more with the miso for stronger flavor. I wish I did not order the spring roll or the foil wrapped salmon. The spring roll was soggy bc the filling inside was so damp and lacked seasoning & flavor. The salmon was very dry, but the mushrooms were flavorful and juicy. Definitely recommend reservations or be ready to wait at least 45 minutes. The inside is quite small, tables as well, so be ready to sit pretty close to your neighboring patrons. Very lively atmosphere that can get loud, but could also be fun!
