One of my Columbus' best kept secrets? Maybe, but for me, it was certainly one of the most UNIQUE and FREE experiences that I have NEVER heard about from anyone else. So probably, yes. One of my Columbus' best kept secrets in my book! I must've heard about this place a while back (a year or two ago?) through an advertised facebook event or possibly a local event magazine. I've been telling myself I will go for as long as I've known about it. The FREE part was appealing, but also the idea of a magic show for adults in a downtown-feeling type of atmosphere, which sounded like something I've never done before. I'm always seeking new experiences! Every Tuesday night, the host performs new magic tricks and they have either local magicians or magicians from elsehwere come into Columbus to perform for the audience. Between 1-1.5 hour shows. Pro-tip: You need to get there a bit before 7pm when they open the doors if you want to get a seat. The venue only seats about 50 and what a cool place it is! I went on a cold weather night, so I could understand why I made it on this night, but maybe I wouldn't on a nicer night where people don't mind waiting in the cold. The refreshments (snacks and drinks) are free. I spent some time trying to figure out why all this is free each week, but based upon the introduction at the beginning of show, I assume they make their money by selling a product (they videotape the show) and this is their way to bring in a full-house crowd in order to videotape the show. Or something. But regardless, I was impressed with the talent I saw (included some comical moments!) and I was sitting in the front row and besides maybe once, I couldn't figure out how these guys were doing it. I would HIGHLY recommend this experience for a crowd that has some flexibility in their night. Again, you might not get in, so maybe have an alternate plan. Or just get there 30 or more minutes early and line up! I can't wait to take my wife and I would definitely count this in as an experience to show an out-of-towner.

Third row back, of three. Patrons are close to the action! The space seats 50 people, max.

I first saw Michael Kent perform when I was in college - intrigued by the "Comedian, Magician,…read moreSmartass" tagline, I went to the student union to check out his performance. As the tagline suggests, Michael's act is a combination of humor and magic - mocking magic while simultaneously impressing the audience with magic. Knowing that Michael also performed for corporate and other types of events besides university programming, I asked him to attend a Tweetup with about 100 people. He performed tricks during networking, and the crowd fell in love with him when he finally performed his act. A few months later when I was organizing a fundraiser, I used him as the main attraction - folks from the first event showed up eager to see him again as well as many new faces. I got tremendous feedback from his performance - and of course I loved it, despite having heard most of the jokes and seen the tricks three times, his act still makes me smile! Michael tours nationally throughout the year - he's heading to Korea in a few days to entertain the troops - but he lives right here in Central Ohio, so if you need an entertainer for your next event, call up the local boy :)

'Awesomes!' and 'What's?' to count, and it was a great opportunity for our team members to be able to include their whole family in something that they were doing for work. I loved that even in a virtual setting, he was able to include members of the audience, and he had different camera angles, music, and lighting. The quality of the production and the magic that was performed were both extremely professional and like something you would expect to see on television or in a live Las Vegas show. From a planning perspective, Michael was extremely easy to work with and willing and able to accommodate the Zoom format that we needed. He made preparation for the event so easy! If you want someone who is funny, a true professional, a phenomenal entertainer, and down to earth, you will be thrilled with Michael Kent. I highly recommend him!

Wonderful experience!!…read more We hired "Batman" from Awesome Family Entertainment for my nephew's 4th birthday. My nephew is obsessed with Batman, and although the price initially seemed a little steep ($150 for 30 mins) it was more than worth it. We had the party at a Glow Putt place in Gahanna and asked our entertainer in advance if he would play putt putt with him, and he happily agreed. Batman arrived on time, about 10 mins before the birthday boy, and waited for his arrival. When my nephew came in and laid his eyes on Batman he was ECSTATIC. (It actually brought a tear to my eye seeing how excited he was and how real it was for him.) My nephew and Batman set out to putt putt, and Batman made him feel like he was the only kid in the building. He gave him his undivided attention as they chatted, joked around, and golfed like they were the best of friends. It melted all of our hearts seeing them having such a wonderful time together and how in tune Batman was with him. This experience was just so much more than we could have ever hoped for, and it was worth every penny. I would definitely recommend AFE- and especially who plays Batman. He was such a nice, professional guy, and we absolutely loved him.

Early this year, I booked Awesome Family Entertainment several months in advance. I utilized them for  8 large inflatable games/bounces/slides, concession machines - cotton candy, popcorn and sno-cone, 10 awesome carnival games with lots of small and medium prizes, several face painters and balloon twisters and four different cartoon characters, a magician, origami artist and the staff to operate the equipment and manage the day. My rep from A.F.E. was very nice, informative and very helpful throughout the entire process. He guided me through their well informed website, their policies and provided me with helpful hints to plan my party. They are way more than just a rental company, more like event advisors that truly cares about your over all event, just not their individual aspect. The day of my event, their staff showed up ahead of time, set up all the inflatables and equipment. Their entertainers were on time and very well groomed. Their staff was friendly and wearing company shirts with their logo, which made them very professional for our guests. The face painters were amazing, Connie and Tiffa were the best face painters I have ever seen for company parties. The balloon twisters worked quick, were friendly and very creative.  The magician - Bruce was very good and held the kids and adults attention pretty well. He had an outgoing personality and a million one liners. The cartoon characters are amazing and very interactive. Just be aware that it does take some time for them to switch costumes, so plan accordantly. Their costumes look very good and well maintained!  I must say our 300 guests had a totally AWESOME TIME and my client was very pleased with their over all service and I would defiantly recommend them to any of my clients and the readers of this review. Well worth the money for peace and mind!  Thank you for the wonderful day and I am sure we will be utilizing your company many more times in the near future!
