If you pick Mark Dantzer as a DJ for your wedding you will be a lucky dog! Take that from a girl…read morewho has experienced her share of weddings and noticed how much of a difference it was when he livened up my brother's wedding reception! I listen to Mark on the radio occasionally and so does my family members so that's what really drew us to choose him for my brother's wedding. He customizes the playlist, provides the lights, sounds and equipment. The reason I gave Mark 5 stars is I realized after my own wedding, that my brother's wedding was the bomb. My DJ was not as prepared as Mark was with his equipment. I'm basing this review off my own experience with DJ's. If you share a different opinion, I would be happy to listen to it although I would happily disagree with you as I learned that Mark was more prepared and had great follow through skills as a DJ. Mark entertained the crowd at my brother's wedding. He made sure the kids and adults heard the music they wanted to hear that night. As well as making sure his equipment was in check as well as sound system. If you want to know how great Mark was ask my 12 year old nephew, who asked him if he could mention him on the radio the following day after the wedding. Mark did more than that, he said how lovely the wedding was and gave a shout out to my nephew. If your not convinced from my experience with Mark back in 2012, then go check him out yourself. He knows his stuff and is dam good at it.

It's YE Gurl -- this time, reporting live from the land of Books & Bubbles! Thanks Jasmine for…read moreputting this event together. Pulled up to the Books and Bubbles Book Fair on 4/17 at The Five Party and Event Center in Columbus, OH -- and y'all, it was a whole vibe! The venue was cute, spacious, and had plenty of room for all the amazing local authors showcasing their work -- plus a little game room in the back for some extra fun. (You know I love a well-rounded event!) Highlights: * Met incredible authors like Larry Robertson (wordssavedlives.com), Signe Damron (signe-ture.com), Jordan Burton (theartbyjburt.com), Joseph Doherty (joeydoherty.com), Sylvia Harris (srdharrisbooks.com), and Lachandra Baker (lbbedutainment.com). * Copped two animated kids' books for $25 -- signed directly to my beau's niece, who immediately clutched them like treasures. ("It says my name!" she screamed as her mom got guilt-tripped into reading them...again. ) AND I got a book of poetry from Larry, and will plan to visit Jordan's art exhibit at ROY G BIV before the end at May 2nd! It warmed my heart to recognize faces from the Main Library Literary Fair, the First Annual Poetry Festival, and Zora's House events. Considering my ancestors risked their lives to read, I don't take the beauty of these moments lightly. Major love and respect to everyone keeping the literary flame alive. Final verdict: If you love books, community, and a good glass of bubbly, put this fair on your must-do list next year. See what other events are happening at The Five or create your own event there! Support local voices -- they're writing our future.

Mike was absolutely the MVP of our Cleveland wedding this summer. Music was the single most…read moreimportant thing to me for my wedding day and he took his job very seriously! My husband and I met with him several times throughout the wedding planning process and truly felt like he knew us very well heading into the day. We experienced extreme power outages across Northeast Ohio in the days leading up the the wedding (including our venue & hotel) and when I reached out to him, he remained not only calm, but positive he could throw our party no matter where or how it ended up! Thankfully the power came back on, but I have no doubt that Mike would have made it just as epic if it hadn't. We truly had the greatest night of our lives and more than once, I looked to the people dancing next to me and said "I feel like he is inside my head!" His MC skills were perfection, his attention to detail was unmatched and I could never say enough great things about him! 1000000% recommend him for ANYTHING!

During our ceremony and cocktail hour, his ability to create impromptu moments added an unforgettable touch to the wedding, effortlessly adding much-needed music during otherwise silent moments, keeping our guests engaged and entertained. Mike's knowledge of house music, excellent mixing, and song choices made our reception exceptional. There were some crazy good transitions -- I don't think I will ever forget how he mixed "lean on me" into "lean on"! On top of all this, the sound system and lighting were high quality. He was highly professional and well-organized, which made the entire process stress-free for us. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding.
