Wonderful experience!! We hired "Batman" from Awesome Family Entertainment for my nephew's 4th birthday. My nephew is obsessed with Batman, and although the price initially seemed a little steep ($150 for 30 mins) it was more than worth it. We had the party at a Glow Putt place in Gahanna and asked our entertainer in advance if he would play putt putt with him, and he happily agreed. Batman arrived on time, about 10 mins before the birthday boy, and waited for his arrival. When my nephew came in and laid his eyes on Batman he was ECSTATIC. (It actually brought a tear to my eye seeing how excited he was and how real it was for him.) My nephew and Batman set out to putt putt, and Batman made him feel like he was the only kid in the building. He gave him his undivided attention as they chatted, joked around, and golfed like they were the best of friends. It melted all of our hearts seeing them having such a wonderful time together and how in tune Batman was with him. This experience was just so much more than we could have ever hoped for, and it was worth every penny. I would definitely recommend AFE- and especially who plays Batman. 4 stars - We called AWESOME ENTERTAINMENT from California for the mother-in-law's 72nd birthday (in Oho) a few days before a scheduled celebratory restaurant dinner. It was easy to set up and pay for by phone. We received a confirming telephone call from the "performer" a few hours before the scheduled appearance. An hour before I called the restaurant to let them know. "Elvis" was right on time, led a happy birthday sing-along, spoke with everyone and presented party beads and balloons to the "birthday girl." I am a corporate event planner for family picnics and I take this business very seriously for the past 20 years. Early this year, I booked Awesome Family Entertainment several months in advance. I utilized them for  8 large inflatable games/bounces/slides, concession machines - cotton candy, popcorn and sno-cone, 10 awesome carnival games with lots of small and medium prizes, several face painters and balloon twisters and four different cartoon characters, a magician, origami artist and the staff to operate the equipment and manage the day. My rep from A.F.E. was very nice, informative and very helpful throughout the entire process. He guided me through their well informed website, their policies and provided me with helpful hints to plan my party. They are way more than just a rental company, more like event advisors that truly cares about your over all event, just not their individual aspect. The day of my event, their staff showed up ahead of time, set up all the inflatables and equipment. Their entertainers were on time and very well groomed. Their staff was friendly and wearing company shirts with their logo, which made them very professional for our guests. The face painters were amazing, Connie and Tiffa were the best face painters I have ever seen for company parties. The balloon twisters worked quick, were friendly and very creative.  The magician - Bruce was very good and held the kids and adults attention pretty well. He had an outgoing personality and a million one liners. The cartoon characters are amazing and very interactive. Just be aware that it does take some time for them to switch costumes, so plan accordantly. Their costumes look very good and well maintained!  I must say our 300 guests had a totally AWESOME TIME and my client was very pleased with their over all service and I would defiantly recommend them to any of my clients and the readers of this review. Terrible customer service. I had to call 3 times to verify drop off time. They left the inflatable in my yard for 4 days. I had to call for them to come pick it up. Sent owner this picture and he offered to "come throw some grass seed down". Avoid this company and irresponsible owner. Curtis has no business ethics. My 4 yr old son is having a his 5th birthday party on May 31st. I have hired Awesome Family Entertainment to help with that event. This review is and will be based on my entire experience and I will update it as it progresses. As I understand it, I will receive 40~45 mins of costume character time. They will get to play games, sing songs and take some pictures. This was 200$ and was fair to me. I was able to pay 100 upfront and I payed the other hundred a few weeks later. Every time I have called I have worked with Curtis and he has been helpful and cordial on the phone. Answered all questions and was able to work with me to get what I needed. The company has 80+ mascots, however I needed a Sonic the Hedgehog which was not on their list. I thought I was out of luck. They ordered the costume for me! Its being made as I write this. This level of support really does make them Awesome. I will be dad of the year, and I have a new reliable and friendly source to turn to when I need entertainment for children's parties. I will update this review after the party. I am really looking forward it. We had the party on 5/31/2015 and it was a great success. Sonic arrived on a few minutes early and called me prior to entering. Sonic was in character the whole time and was very friendly and easy to work with. I couldn't imagine the level of effort it takes to keep up with kids while wearing one of the costumes but Sonic did a good job. When Sonic first enter the birthday area he greeted the children warmly and waved. We noticed when we was watching the home video that when the birthday boy (bb) was running up to Sonic he was about to try to give him a hug and Sonic stuck his hand out to shake it. I think this threw the child off a little because it's not really what he expected friends to do. It took him a few minutes to warm up to Sonic after that but soon they were playing on bounce houses, shooting laser tag, and the bb was leading Sonic around by the hand introducing him to his family and friends. Sonic brought some coloring books and helped pass out birthday presents and signed autographs on the Sonic comic book party favors. We will use AFE again in the future to help us plan parties, particularly for the above and beyond customer service we had throughout the process. Loved the bounce house we got from Awesome Family Entertainment! It was freshly cleaned and worked great! Quickly setup by the team, ready to go in minutes! HOURS of fun! I'd say my ONLY criticism was the 20 minute notice I receive that they were on their way to pick it up. I wasn't home and couldn't make sure it was clean before they got it. No issues. I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in the service on Saturday. I'm pretty sure it was this girls first time. She had no experience. She had NO excitement, she lost the children's attention immediately, when she walked in she was like a deer looking at head lights, she kept looking at the women that was with her every few minutes. WORST ever experience with the owner/manager. Curtis was rude & he lacks common sense. They charged us over $115 per hr for 3 hours & offered an hr as complimentary. However, the setup & deflating the bounce house took close to 2 hours. On expressing dissatisfaction, the guy started calling me names & also charged me 200 for security deposit just to prove the point that he can charge me. I wish I had chosen a different company, these guys (atleast Curtis) do not have ethics. Please DO NOT choose the company. read more

We wanted a singing telegram for an office birthday and ordered the chicken and gorilla. Both of the costumes smelled like they had been chain smoking in the car before coming in. We paid for both and the gorilla just stood there while the chicken sang for about 30 seconds. Such a let down. read more

Super disappointed with Awesome Family Entertainment. They lost our contact info and got drop off time wrong. The delivery people were not connected to the main office so they didn't have our info. We paid for them to set up and they left our chairs in a pile. I ended end up setting up the chairs in the sun by myself and hen had to get my makeup reduce which screwed up photos. Then they didn't pick them up because "they had something else to do " which caused more issues with our venue. I feel badly that the previous reviewer did not have a good experience but that was not the case for our party. The pirate face painter was very good and very patient with 10 screaming and jumping kids. He even went a little over his time limit to paint two on several of the children. Steve was running a bit late and called to say he was almost there. Very polite and nice. Several parents complimented me on the party and asked where I found a face painter so I passed on the information! Would use this company again easily. Thank you for a successful party! read more

I first rented from here 7/2015 with great service and excellent slide. I had my second rental 7/2016, my expectations of service was not met. I had to inquire twice about arrival time (i expected a call 1-2 days prior to the date). I expected to have the rental all day since it was required to pay the all day fee (due to the holiday and what i experienced the year before). Curtis was rude and argumentative when i questioned the pick up time. The following day I learned the delivery team collected additional money, however the rental previously paid in full. I did receive the check back in the mail. But never an sorry-we did not set clear expectations and collected too much money. The inflatable was great and I am really disappointed with the service will look elsewhere next year. read more

Extremely disappointed to say the least. I had booked the magic show to start at 6PM. Manager was extremely rude on the phone, didn't give an accurate time of arrival of the magician, threatened to cancel the show on top of it. Kids were excited but half of the guests with little ones had to leave. Party was supposed to end at 7. Finally, magician showed up at 7.30PM. There was no apology whatsoever. Magic tricks were silly but kept 5-6 yr olds engaged. I am pretty sure others are fake reviews. Horrible experience, never booking anything again. read more

This place is a joke. First the performer was 31 minutes early. Tried to get children organized and before I did she rounded the corner. Through the entire show she kept announcing how she had to leave and fight crime. She was very rude! Also she had know ideal how to engage the children. A lady playing a ninja turtle who was like 60??? Come on. I tried to call back and at least get a refund for her part. No refund. Seriously look elsewhere. read more

I wish I could give this 0 stars. I ordered a balloon tying clown and they sent me a non-clown face painter. My daughter asked for a unicorn and got what looked like a narwhale. For $112.50/hour, I would expect quality work. When spoke with Curtis at the company to complain today, he informed me that because the invoice they sent me said "Silly Person" not clown, and I paid that invoice, it was my fault. Even though I clearly showed him that my original request was for a clown and I apologize that I don't know the difference between the two - they made a booking error. I then informed him that they are in the customer service industry - direct quote from Curtis, "No mam, the customer is NOT always right." WOW! He told me I should have sent her away when she showed up not as a clown or when I started seeing the poor quality work. 1. She was my main entertainment for the party and 2. who is going to say to someone, "I am sorry -- you are doing a horrid job. Can you please abandon this line of children that has been waiting for an hour and leave my property?" I thought the company would take care of me for their crappy booking. They offered me $50 off of a future service. NOPE! Won't be using them again. I did NOT receive the service that I paid for -- HORRIBLE COMPANY! OH MY GOSH! NOW CURTIS JUST CALLED ME OFFERING TO REFUND $100 FROM THE ENTERTAINER'S PAY IF I REMOVE ALL OF MY REVIEWS. Isn't that called bribery? Isn't bribery illegal? Horrible experience and the owner was VERY condescending. We requested the speed pitch which is a blow up with a radar gun. First the delivery people came a day early without notice to set up. We were in the middle of getting the yard ready for the party. Once they placed it and gave us the radar gun, we asked questions but they had no idea how to work the radar gun. After searching the internet to figure out how to use it, the radar gun never worked. We repeatedly reached out to the company until finally the owner got back to us days later. He did not apologize and told us that the contract stated we should have asked questions and it was not his problem that we couldn't work the radar gun. I had ordered an entertainer for my sons birthday. Personnel was not good with kids at all. Entertainer also could not tie up balloons as promised into shapes. For a joke I guess he decided to put salt in the the balloons that got all over the house. Entertainer also did not even ask if it was alright to blow confetti throughout the house which I am still currently trying to clean up. When I called the company which is not located in the state to complain about the entertainer I was rudely informed even before I was able to give input that they would not refund me for the service and if I were to dispute the charge that they would sue me. I was not even looking to a refund just to input my opinion on service. I would highly recommend anyone looking for this kind of service to find a more professional company. Unprofessional. They said they charged $1 a mile to go to parties from their location, which is fine. They were trying to figure out where I live, so I said I work in Grandview and that it was 25 miles from my house. He instantly said, "It will be an extra $50." First off, the last time I checked, they were not located in Grandview. They were actually located 16 miles from my property. I simply wrote them back explaining, they told me its $50 and I could go somewhere else if I didn't like it. "So, you don't charge $1/ mile?" ... They are money hungry and very rude!
