His pricing was similar to the others and he understood that I didn't want any drywall damage. The others could or would not accomodate this request. He was flexible about the day and time for installation and worked around remote work meetings schedules and separate fan delivery from Home Depot. He was able come by on a Friday and his crew were able to pre wire in everything in a couple of hours without any holes in the drywall by pulling the wire through the existing conduit. The fans arrived the next day on Saturday and he was able to again accomodate the remote work meeting schedule and able to install these very nice fans in a couple of hours and even immediately corrected the tilted rod that one of his crew had installed incorrectly. I am a perfectionist and one of the most difficult people to impress and gotta say I was very impressed. We were impressed by his communications, punctuality, and flexibility. We recommend Duke Electric for any electrical jobs whether they are large or small.

However, we discussed in detail over the phone that his initial fee would cover diagnostics and repair if done within the first hour. As soon as the team found the issue (10mins) they figured a socket needed to be relocated. Immediately an upcharge of $100 was mentioned on grounds that it was too much additional labor. They put a new socket and plate but it did not feel justified for the up charge. They were out within the hour. EDIT: Within 10mins of the neutral review I got a text message from the owner threatening to report to the city on some work where they had no knowledge of how/ where/ what was done. I responded that they don't need to blackmail and that it will posted on yelp too (screenshot attached). Immediately I got a call where the owner started to put up a fight. Never seen such practice. Just for this I have taken a star off!

I asked them to install a tankless water heater. The plumber did a fantastic job installing the water heater. Except, as a plumber, he didn't do electric work. He used an extension cord running to the back yard to plug it in, said the job was good and asked for payment. We didn't pay him because the electrical work wasn't finished, nor did we receive the permit as part of the job. The next day, I had to call them about the electrical work. It hadn't been scheduled, and the job had been marked as finished. They did send out an electrician to install the electrical outlet. The work was great. Again, the electrician asked for payment. I reminded them that the permit was still outstanding. The next day, they had my credit card number on file for a different job, and just used that number to charge for the work. But the job wasn't finished. I paid them a good amount of money, that they charged me for to get the permit for the work. For three weeks I have been trying to contact them to finish the work. In the past, you could talk to someone. Now, every time I call, I get a AI service rep that sends me to voice mail. I have left many, many voice mails, and I have never gotten a call back. I did get a call back from Hank, the AI agent, who then again sent me to a voice mail. Honestly, it pains me to say that they are not the same company they were a year ago. And now, for the first time in 20 years, I now need to find a more reliable plumber.

I didn't appreciate the urgency (she said I needed it done asap, when I had at least 4 to 5 months). Aside from that, the communication from the project manager was competent & efficient. When Trout took over communication went haywire. During the city permitting process they said in their letter to me that I just needed to be home for (think the window was 8:30 to 9:45am). They said nothing about having to keep opening and closing my garage door access. Well, I refuse to use my PTO from work because they're not sure how long they're going to be, or the start and end times. So around 3 PM at work I got a frantic text from another (different) project manager asking me to open my garage. Well, hello, there is no power, so how can I open the garage? Finally, they got that sorted out and around 5 PM one of their techs asked me to open my garage. I never got a response back from him when I asked to confirm if he was done and I could shut it again (by the way, I was doing this remotely from work since I have an app.) Communication needs to greatly improve in order for me to recommend this business.

After the work was completed, I noticed that one breaker on my panel was missing a label. When I asked Caio, the owner, about it, I was told that they could not identify it during testing and that it might be connected to a hidden outlet. I was advised to turn the breaker off for several hours, or even a day, and see what stops working. When I asked what the old panel had listed for that breaker, I was told there was no label. As a customer who paid on time and in full, I expected better accountability. Since all of the wiring was stripped and reconnected during the panel replacement, I believe identifying and properly labeling the circuits should have been part of the job. The lack of ownership and follow-through was frustrating. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this service moving forward.
