We (my husband and my brother) dine at PF Chang's every month or so, and usually have excellent food and service. But that was not the case on Friday Dec 19. We were seated promptly and our server was very friendly, but after she delivered our drinks (BTW my husband ordered coffee and Server said that she'd have to brew a fresh pot...then when she returned to take our order she told him that they were "all out" of coffee. A huge restaurant like that and no coffee to be found?) and took our food order we rarely saw her again. Twenty minutes or so after we'd ordered, Server (sorry, I don't know her name - the music was so loud I couldn't hear her when she introduced herself) dashed by, noticed my empty glass and asked "Another?" I nodded and started to ask her about our appetizer but she was gone. Another person finally brought our dumplings appetizer, along with three plates. The top plate was dirty - stuck-on food, etc. Our dumplings were cold. We waited and waited and our food finally arrived. I ate some of it directly from the serving bowl and when our Server never returned so that I could ask for a clean plate I went to host stand and asked to see the manager, dirty plate in hand. He came to our table (with a clean plate) and I explained about the absence of server and cold food and apparently the music was too loud for him, too, because he said he understood and then sent a person to our table with three new plates. Manager came back and I thanked him but told him "You don't understand what I'm saying, we've finished our dinner we don't need plates, it's the cold dumplings (etc)." He insisted "I do understand but *you* have to understand that it's the holidays and we're very busy" and left. I'm not making this up - another person came to our table with three clean plates. When we were boxing up our leftovers our Server returned and said the Manager had comped the dumplings and wanted to buy us dessert. None of us felt like dessert so we thanked her and left. As I said, this was pretty much an isolated incident compared to our previous PF Chang visits and it won't prevent us from returning. I felt compelled to mention it though because of several points...A) The "ambient" music was too loud considering the huge crowd in the restaurant. Everyone was shouting to be heard at their tables; maybe I'm old and not "hip", but being assaulted by a cacophony of sound does not encourage a relaxing dining experience. B) Server actually lied to us...after we'd complained about the cold dumplings to Manager, she came to our table and asked "Why didn't you say anything when I asked if everything was all right?" "You never did ask," I replied and she briefly debated the point. C) The Manager who insisted to me that he was listening and understood me but instead sent a succession of plates to our table. It's been years since I came here. It my birthday dinner choice with my family. Are there better Asian choices out there? Yes, but I wanted to see how it was. I remember getting the crispy beef here a long time ago. Service was very good from our waiter, but the food was just ok. The stir fry beef entree was small, I called the waiter over and he agreed and brought an additional one out that was larger. That right there tells me they don't know what they are serving. I made a quick stop at PF Chang's at the Somerset Collection as I was beginning to get a little hungry in the afternoon. I chose to sit at the bar to relax as I really only came to the mall to walk around for some exercise on a rainy day and visit so many of the luxury items in the stores that would be nice to own someday. My server was very attentive and I ordered a Michelob Ultra. Unfortunately, I noticed that she had to change the keg. Much to my delight, I was glad that she gave me the first serving of the new keg rather than the final pour of the previous. I asked how the Dynamite Shrimp appetizer compares to the Honey Shrimp which is my usual, but I didn't want to get too full. She mentioned that the sauce was very different, but I found that I truly enjoyed this appetizer paired with the shredded cabbage, carrot, and shrimp chips. I've always enjoyed a consistent delivery of the meals served at this relaxing location including once with a larger group of family and friends on Christmas Eve. The background music isn't too loud, but provides an enjoyable ambiance to relax. A nice place to relax and enjoy a tasty meal. Not only did our dishes have beautiful presentation, but the plates were well portioned and the food was served hot and fresh! We enjoyed the lunch special which starts at $13.99, we chose the crispy honey chicken and Mongolian beef, our top favorites, and both upgraded to fried rice. Overall, the resturant was clean, wait staff was very helpful but the food sometimes does not hit if you are looking for authentic Chinese food. I decided to stop in for a quick bite during my day of shopping at Somerset Collection. I sat at the bar and was quickly greeted by the bartender. I settled on the Singapore Street Noodles. It was a huge portion with tons of noodles. I was hoping for more chicken in the dish but overall it was not bad. There were a good many shrimp in the dish, which was nice. Dynamite shrimp were so small and hidden under cabbage slaw to make it seem like a good portion. My son's sweet and sour chicken kids meal was terrible. The broccoli was brown he wouldn't eat it and I didn't want him too. The rice was missing and it came with 3 tiny orange slices. The chain as a whole seems to be trying to reinvent itself or figure out a better way to profit, so they have made a variety of menu changes over the last year or so, if not longer, particularly with regard to what is offered pre-fixe and the different sizes available for each dish. The food is good enough to get along with but can be hit or miss. I also note that the wait time for takeout orders can be longer than anticipated/promised. read more

Mongolian beef was tough and didn't have enough vegetables. Teriyake was good, but could have used more vegetables as well. Pork egg rolls were excellent (very tasy), as was the Won-ton soup. Menu selections were not as extensive as much of the competition. It was almost as if the establishment was trying to sell itself as an "upscale" Chinese restaurant, which it is not. My friend and I was meeting up for lunch - this is only my second time at this location mainly it because good meeting since she comes a distance. When came around 1pm - not busy at all. But why the greeter had a horrible attitude; thank good she wasn't our host. I wasn't going to say anything but my friend did and ask what heck was up her butt (Lol!) because it literally happened to several people afterwards. Come to find out that person was leaving in a week...and multiple people complaint as well. Food was ok probably wouldn't get something super overpriced since its a chained restaurant - still nothing to really rave about but our service was super nice. More free spirited/chilled which helped from our initial attention we received. No issues with our food/drinks - everything came out in timely matter and we didn't feel rushed to get up after eating. The happy hour is very misleading after driving over 30 minutes from Fenton after looking over the happy hour menu online I felt like totally misled. Happy hour states 1/2 price if the 1/2 size apps well it wasn't it was $1 off the 1/2 size apps. Very disappointed how does a company like this not see this. read more

Had lunch with my mom at this P.F. Chang's location. Everything was great. We ordered lettuce wraps, Kung pao chicken, and the banana spring roll dessert. These are staple menu items; however there was one change. The lettuce wraps now come with a creamy sesame sauce. It was fine but we prefer the old sauce. We asked for the old sauce and were brought ingredients to make our own which was fine. Unfortunately, our server was not attentive and that is the cause of the 4 stars. read more

Haven't ordered from here in sometime but decided due to holiday and most places being closed. Ordered the Kung Pao chicken and Lettuce Wraps to go. Service was fine but took a bit even though they were completely dead. It might be the grossest meal I've had in 2025. The chicken was black like it was dipped in squid ink and cooked for three hours on high direct heat. Don't know how you cook something like that and it's so insanely chewy still. Opened up the lettuce wraps that I've had tons of times before and an odor hit me that I've not smelled from here. I don't know what it was but it smelled like the chicken had already spoiled. So $40 worth of food in the trash. I'm assuming they get mall traffic allowing them to remain open. read more

We had a GREAT experience, thanks to Ida (she was amazing). This PF Chang's in Troy @ Somerset Mall was bustling with a lot of activity on Saturday. Fortunately, we reserved a table (8) and were seated right away. It's been a few years since dining here and we were very pleased with the vibe, décor and especially the staff. Ida was super personable and exuded a clear passion for customer service. The appetizers and drinks were brought out fast and with great presentation. While the main meal took a little-bit longer (resulting from peak dinner time on Sat), our kids appreciated the free drink refills as we enjoyed the appetizers. Again, the service, food quality, portions and presentations were excellent, especially on such a hectic day. I highly recommend this PF Chang's as it is refreshing to see a national large chain restaurant, scale their operations so the customer interaction feels more like a neighborhood restaurant - THANK AGAIN - IDA!! read more

Love stopping by for a bite to eat while I'm at the mall. I love getting the dynamite shrimp, it's a pretty good portion so you can split it with someone. I recently got their new lunch bowl option that comes with options for your "entree" with a side of rice. There are plenty of options on there, and it's the perfect portion for one person if you're in a rush. Service wise, the staff is always very nice and are able to answer any questions you may have about the menu. The wait in between ordering and actually receiving your drinks and food is great, not too long so you can get back to shopping. That being said, it is the only major dining spot on the south side of the mall, so a wait is usually expected on the weekends. read more

Got the Mongolian beef and kung pao chicken. Delivery. Ordered the FULL SIZE (12 oz) of Mongolian beef but got the "meal portion." This is evident by the exact same size of the beef with the chicken which we intentionally ordered the smaller portion. We got this sorted out with the manager, but you have to be aware of this when ordering and double check your order. Taste wise, so so, not fantastic. Beef was supposed to be spicy. Not spicy one bit. Quantity disappointing (see above). Lots of scallions. Beef was ok-tenderness but could be better. Kung pao chicken was ok, not fantastic either. Lots of celery, I guess the correct amount of chicken which was minimal. Chicken was cooked ok - it is not out of the world good and not better than your local Chinese takeout. Overall, the value of the meals we got was not worth it in terms of quantity or quality. Food arrived cold as well but this was not factored in the score because it was delivered, but also made for a disappointing experience. Can't speak to the ambiance. read more

My sever while very sweet spoke super quiet and I was wearing a hearing aid. I was excited because of an illness I haven't been able to go there and eat in over 3 years. I ordered the Won Ton soup with no mushrooms and decided on the beef & broccoli. The soup came out loaded with mushrooms. I couldn't find my waitress so I ask someone else in the area if the could take it back. After a bit, it came out again with mushrooms! Looked like someone tried to pick them out of the broth and missed a couple. After that time, I said no soup. If you are allergic to something, you can't just pick it out. after a few more minutes she brought out the beef and broccoli. I figured the meat was going to be chewy, but it was like leather, The worse part was I couldn't even bite a piece of the broccoli. I like it when my broccoli is cooked enough so you can cut it with a knife. This might have been ok with a steak knife. The really sore part for me is a manager never came out to the table to apologize for the two mess up with the soup. Yes, they took the two soups (she charged me 2 times for it) off the bill, the manager maybe was busy because there was about 5 tables with people. I believe it was the hostess (very sweet lady) offed the get the manager, but I have some side effects from my illness, and I have to get home within a short amount of time. Shrimp fried rice was not as tasty as what you find in the typical Chinese restaurant. The fried rice along with the shrimp was very bland. The service however was very good( considering the waitress was in training). But much more importantly, PFC at Somerset is extremely enjoyable and imo qualifies as one of the best Chinese cuisine experiences.... Despite it being a chain. This is a chain done well. They check all the marks of a quality restaurant. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the preparation is great quality every time. The dumplings especially you can tell they use fresh wrappers. That's a rarity. The atmosphere is pleasing and they have the awareness to play Asian-inspired music suitable for dining, rather than dub step. Service also *very* considerate and polite. Had reservations and were seated within 10-15mins of our arrival/reservation time. For this side of Troy it's nice to be able to go out to eat (two of us) and have it cost under $100 for dinner and drinks. Felt like the food was reasonably priced for entrees, but wished that the entrees included more veggies. I had the sesame chicken (comes w rice), $17, my husband the pepper steak $19 (comes w rice), and we both enjoyed our dinners. The shrimp tempura app at $14 felt steep considering it was only 8 pieces and the shrimp tempura was cold. My favorite part of the meal was the Old Fashioned (guess there's a "Japanese Old Fashioned," on the menu, but since the waitress couldn't even explain what it was I went with the traditional). That drink was amazing--super smooth, but clocked in at $16. Do I need to go back? Nah. Food was solid, but not amazing. Ambiance is chain-chic and a little too noisy for my taste.
