We have come to the university mall PF CHANGS several times and there has always been at least one thing wrong with either our food or the service or both, but today we were extremely satisfied. There are several menu items here that I absolutely love! The lettuce wraps are to die for! I also love the Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Shrimp. However, some other items have just been okay for me. I tried their new tempura bowl at lunch and didn't love it. There was no sauce on the rice and the shrimp was too heavily breaded and slightly undercooked. Ordered through door dash, I usually really like this place but I just spent $50 on food for my girlfriend and I just to have it be disgusting and very low quality. There's a very high chance that I won't be eating here again. The chicken fried rice was very soggy and had no flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was also super soggy and undercooked. I've been to PF Chang's maybe a dozen times in 5 or 6 cities, and I've always enjoyed it, BUT this location in Orem let us down. We came in for a special family party with 6 people, and we began by ordering a couple of pots of tea. It took A WHILE for them to come, and when they did the ornamental metal pots were hot to the touch, but the tea inside (or rather the water, for the tea hadn't brewed yet) was already too cool to drink. It took a little longer than we would have liked to get our waiter's attention and tell him "This 'tea' is too cool." He wanted to CONTEST our judgment, saying "But the pots are so hot, I nearly burned myself." Excuse me! He didn't check the actual tea, and of course he wasn't properly concluding, as we were, that the metal pots had started out cold, and had quickly absorbed too much heat from the water he had poured into them. He went away, saying he would bring more tea. It took ANOTHER 10 MINUTES (we still hadn't ordered) and instead of removing the now room-temp pots and refilling them, he left them cluttering up our table, and brought two more pots with the exact same problem. Undrinkable, and now we have 4 pots. TEN MORE MINUTES PASS. No one comes to ask whether we are now satisfied, although a glance would show that we have NOT poured the lukewarm liquid into our cups. Finally we snare a passing server and ask him to take away the 4 pots of cool tea. He nods but does NOT comply then, or return. Our table is crowded and I start to rise to put the pots on a neighboring empty table, when finally our server notices and reappears. We reject the tea (clearly he's not gonna be able to get it right) and beg to place our order, because we are plenty hungry by now. Following this annoyance, we order a pretty good quantity of food and WAIT and WAIT. We are wondering if we have ANNOYED our server by our rejection of the cold tea. And when our food finally comes, my daughter's order is incorrect. Instead of sweet-and-sour chicken, which I clearly heard her order, she is given sesame chicken. When she points out the error, the server says "This is what you ordered." Well no, it wasn't. She adores sweet-and-sour, and that is what she always orders, and we heard her order it. We have waited so long already, but she really wants what she really ordered. Is that unreasonable? We spoke politely to this server every time, but now he heaves a quiet sigh... well, you get the picture... read more

This place is a good, reliable, and higher end Asian restaurant. I've been coming here for a while and have had some disappointments a few times, but for the most part it's a great restaurant! Today I got the Singaporean street noodles, spring rolls, and egg drop soup. I also tried the California roll, Changs spicy chicken, and sweet and sour chicken of another person in my group. I have to say I was a bit dissatisfied with the chef tonight. The egg drop soup had a great consistency, thickness, and general flavor, although there was a touch too much black pepper. White pepper is traditional in egg drop soup so it was a bit weird having black pepper in there. The white pepper is supposed to be mellow and balanced with the others, so the black pepper took the spotlight away from the complexity of flavor. The spring rolls were delicious along with there sauce! The flavor of the sauce was balanced with a nice sweetness and spiciness. The texture of the spring rolls was great as well. I think the filling of the spring rolls was blanched slightly too long, as it was a touch on the soggy side. The wrapper of the spring roll was not traditional, but I'm not complaining because it was delicious! The Singaporean street noodles were delicious as always. I like this dish because it is a lot lighter and fresher than some of the other dishes. It had rice noodles, crispy (unbreaded) chicken, shrimp, scallions, and cherry tomatoes. The sauce is a sweet sour lime sauce. The seasoning was a bit off - too much acidity and not enough sweetness. The shrimp was cooked perfectly though. It had a nice texture and an incredible flavor. The chicken was very overdone. It was extremely dry so I was pretty disappointed in that. Overall great dish though! Very nice freshness and complexity of flavor. I was very disappointed when I tried the changs spicy chicken. I've had it before and it's delicious. There was way too much garlic and not enough salt, spice, and sweetness. The breading was also a touch on the soggy side. Sweet and sour chicken had great seasoning but once again not enough crispiness in the breading. The one thing that is good every time I've come here no matter what is the sushi. In fact this place has better sushi than any other place I've gotten sushi at before, in my opinion. The textures, flavors, and techniques are all great! This restaurant has great food! The chef tonight was a let down but it was still a great night. I would definitely recommend! read more

Decided to use a gift card here and we really regret it. First we showed up during a normal lunch hour around 1 on a Saturday. The waitress was super nice and as we got to ordering we got some edamame and calamari. The edamame was cold, no flavor and sadly disappointed us. The calamari was okay nothing to complain. As we got to ordering the waitress told us that they had NO WHITE RICE at the moment that it would be a little wait but that THERE WAS FRIED RICE available as an option or brown rice. We decided we could wait for white rice. However our waitress came back and told us that the white rice would actually be more like an hour or so wait. Reminder this is during a normal lunch hour on a Saturday and the restaurant was not busy at all. So my wife settled for brown rice and the waitress kindly got me some noodles and my brother settled for fried rice. HOWEVER, when the food arrived. My brother had MAYBE a tablespoon of fried rice and the waitress said thats all they had left of the fried rice. My wife got the Honey Chicken which is her go to but not today. The chicken batter was soggy and very wet. It was inedible and she couldn't even eat more than 1 piece. The chicken was soggy, chewy and not crispy at all! And did not mix well with the brown rice alternative that we had to settle with. All in all we paid $65 for the meal. Our waitress tried her best but seems like the kitchen was not up to par or ready to work for a Saturday afternoon. I guess we should've settled for Panda Express. Really like our past experiences with this place hope it improves. And we have a chance to try it again. read more

TJ Taylor rocks! My daughter and I came back from a long day of skiing and wanted some Chinese food. We stopped at PF Chang and had the best time! TJ was there for us immediately whenever we needed anything and then at dessert he spoiled us! We asked for a Great Wall of chocolate cake and he shows up with a plate that had not only the cake, but also a mountain of whipped cream and delicious ice cream! Then he comes back with the bill and says, "Here are some fortune cookies for you!" I look down and there are 8! I told him in jest that he's going to give me diabetes! We did an online order for Christmas Eve. We set our pickup time for 5:00 and waited in line for an hour before anyone talked to us about our order. Someone finally took our name down to check to see if it was started and the worker said it would be another hour and a half. That's ridiculous! I felt bad for the women who had to help the take out people. She was very nice and the manager didn't come out to take any of the heat. I just wasn't impressed with the organization of the take out orders and the lack of communication from the manager. They need to fix their online order system. It is a joke! I will not be eating take out from PF Chang's again which is a shame because they have such great food. read more

This restaurant is amazing. I really like the atmosphere. There's great music, great people, and great food. What I really liked was the gluten-free menu. My boyfriend has Celiac's Disease and as such, it's really hard to go out to eat. Not only do they have a gluten free menu-but it's all delicious and reasonably priced. We've tried four different items from the gluten-free menu. I was very impressed with all of them. If you do have Celiac's though, do make sure to specify and ask for the gluten free soy sauce for dipping. If you don't specify (even if your waitress notices you ordered off the gluten free menu) you may end up "getting glutened." So just specify and you won't have a problem. After we got seated at the table, a waitress came over within the first minute or two. While they do excell on service, I - being new to this restaurant - feel they didn't give us enough time to find out what I wanted before asking for my order. However, the waitress was very understanding, asked for what drink we wanted, and left after telling us she would be right back. As she said, she was back with the drinks within another 2 minutes or less, and was more than willing to answer our question about a meal that was on the menu, and took our order. We ordered Fried Rice Combo, Almond Cashew nuts chicken, and a Sweet and Sour Chicken. We got our meals in less than 10 minutes - though they got the Fried Rice Combo wrong, which was half our fault. She had no problems taking back that meal, and start making the other one. Which again took less than 10 minutes. I felt that I got too little Sweet and Sour sauce, and when I asked for extra, she immediately let me know she would go get some for me. This took less than 2 minutes - as she had to help other customers. As I had waited for the sweet and sour sauce, my food had cooled down slightly, tho my meal was still excellently made. Even though I received only a small amount of rice in a bowl, the large amount of fried chicken that was served with the rice more than made up for the little rice. As soon as any of our glasses started to get empty, we were given a new glass of our chosen sodas before we emptied our glass. In light of the fact I had to ask for extra sweet and sour sauce, thus my meal getting cooled off slightly, I'm giving this restaurant a 4 star rating, and I will definitely recommend any of my friends and family to drop by for a good meal and service. read more

P.F. Chang's is a cool place. The music is always great and the food is even better (mostly). I've visited this location only once but the service was just like the other times. Even though the place seemed packed, our waitress was personable and attentive. My favorite things from here are the lettuce wraps and Mongolian beef. The orange peel chicken and the crispy honey chicken are really nice, too. I would recommend enjoying the meal in family style where everyone shares entrees. The food (if you want to call it that) was slop thrown together with soupy sauce. As an American of Chinese descent, I'm truly offended by their representation of my culture's food. The food was totally bland and didn't have any of the robust flavors that one can find in Cantonese or Mandarin cuisine. Their food was totally Americanized, Chinese food. Around this area, I prefer Fortune or Four Seasons Hot Pot and Dumplings on University Avenue in Provo. Very unimpressed with the management here...while they are telling everyone their wait times, a Dominos delivery person comes through the front door to deliver food to the staff. The manager proceeded to have the employees one by one get a pizza from the deliver person to take back to their break room, it just was very tacky in my opinion. The restaurant was relatively busy, as it was valentine's day. Our server was very prompt. Stopped by took our drink order and gave us a few more moments to browse the menu. We ordered the classic dinner for two. I was excited for the hot and sour soup. It did not disappoint. I have always thought the lettuce wraps were the best. Tonight not so much. They have changed there sauce from the original trio to a spicier one. It is not as sweet and moist. Quite dry and not as appealing. I was so sad. Our entrees after a very long time finally showed up after the couple who sat next to us and came in after us had finished their dinner and had their check. The waiter finally came by and apologized for taking so long with some lame excuse about too many take out orders. By this time the restaurant had slowed down considerably. The rest of the entrees, chicken lo mein and moo gai pan were ok but let's face it. They are known for lettuce wraps, why mess with a good thing. I think I am over PF.CHANGS. We didn't even get fortune cookies with our check. So for a disappointing evening I am giving 2 stars. My husband says I am being generous. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Me and my husband, family and friends went there for a luncheon after going through the temple. We all ordered the "lunch" portions. When we got our food it was completely cold, and the waiters didn't help us at all while we were there. And after we had all already eaten they try telling us that we didn't order the lunch portions and so we have to pay double the price? That's bull crap. If you gave us the wrong thing that is your own fault, maybe you should pay attention better. And instead of admitting that it was their mistake and fixing it, they start a fight with us about it and it took half an hour to resolve the situation. Worst service I have ever had. And all of the people I had with me were so fed up about it that they left annoyed and we were busy handling it with the manager so we didn't get to say goodbye to mostly everyone, who had come very far just to see me and my husband. Ruined the good vibe of the day. NEVER go there with a group. Obviously they can't handle more than 4 people at a time. read more

This time they had 2 new dishes like their holiday special appetizer the new butternut squash dimsum and a dessert the banana roll with a side of coconut pineapple ice cream and these 2 dishes are the reason why I have given a 1 star because for my main entree I had ordered changs spicy tofu but what came out was its chicken version i.e. wrong order came out and I found out immediately after I had had a bite of it and it was immediately replaced but this was a blunder as I did not want meat in my dish today and had clearly specified to the person attending to our table to get me the tofu version, but swapping a core ingredient from a non meat to a meat version clearly dampened my mood and what further disappointed me was , the least I expected was to have that dish on the house but I was still charged for it, although I did not take the issue up with the restaurant at the time as I did not want to fuss over it, I clearly am not happy about and hence I have to give them a 1 star for poor attention to detail in their service. read more

It's a pretty small location so I would call ahead or get there early because its usually a 1 hour wait around dinner. The service has always been good and I've been here at least a dozen times. Everything I've eaten there has been great. For those who say the food quality is bad they haven't eaten good fresh food or the are ticked of because its not cheap chinese food. Very poor experience at the Orem location. We ate there yesterday and with reservations were seated immediately (only reason I gave it two stars instead of one). The food was unimpressive and severely overpriced. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday, but I kept thinking "I wish we would have gotten Panda Express and ate at home." The food portions were surprisingly small. I ordered beef and broccoli and the meat was extremely tough and hard to chew. Not enough sauce either. I would have been content to let that all slide, but within 8 hours of leaving I have thrown it all up and had massive diarrhea. Definitely contracted food poisoning from P. F. Love this place. I travel a lot for my job and over the years I have eaten at approximately 52 of their restaurants! Same menu and exactly the same experience. Great food. No reservations taken. So on weekends, arrive real early. Or, be prepared to wait up to 90 minutes or longer to get a table. Their lettuce wraps are one of their signature dishes. I love their orange peal shrimp. I have ordered curbside from them three times, the first was great. The second was difficult, but I tried to be understanding. They, for some reason I'm sure only they understand, have one and only one curbside parking spot. It was parked in, so I parked a few spaced away and was told that they wouldn't come out to me until I parked in the appropriate parking spot. I assumed this was a one off and stupidly ordered again. The third time there was someone in the pickup spot, but I was able to park directly behind it and they said they'd bring me my food as soon as it was ready. I checked in two minutes before the scheduled pickup time, but wanted to be understanding if they were busy. I called back 20 minutes later, my food had spent that entire time just sitting and waiting to be brought to me. Someone not working curbside brought it, forgot my drink and had to go back for it. No biggie, but annoying. The real issue is that my food had been sitting ready for so long that it was disgustingly soggy and gross. I may go back for dine in and hope for a decent experience like I've had in the past, I will not do curbside again. To add insult to this, you have to tip when you order. My third tip went to the lazy bum who let my food get nasty, and not the person who brought it to me, and that makes me a bit angry because it's unfair to the person picking up the slack. read more

The food was cold when it came out. The orange chicken tasted awful like they had put some kind of orange extract on it. The waiter was more interested in the group of girls sitting next to us, for he not once did he come over to check on us during the time we ate our dinner. My boyfriend's mixed drink was disgusting but it was $10 so he downed it as fast as he could. Overall just go to Panda express or a cheap Chinese buffet, probably better food for a lot cheaper. read more
