This location is one that I have been to several times over the years for birthdays and special locations. The food at this location is very fresh and the wait staff are very attentive - especially when it comes to allergies. They take the time to make sure that the food is prepared without exposure to the specific allergen. I love the Mongolian beef, but my personal favorite is the honey crispy chicken. On Thursday October 5th, 2023 we, 3 people, had early dinner in this restaurant. Talk about going down the drain. The experience was awful. Going. Into the restaurant the floor was sticky. We literally had to pull our foot from it. The food was greasy and every one of our 3 different dishes had a taste of sugar in it. It was sweet. My friend ordered Sesame chicken and asked for it to be spicy. It was sweet! He asked for his fried rice to be spicy, it was not. The server was nice and did all he can to remedy the disastrous dishes. Another friend ordered Mongolian beef. It was sweet, thick dry un-chewable chunks of beef floating in a greasy sauce. What a beautiful restaurant. Lots of parking at mid day. A really pleasant manager on site. Very knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff. I ordered the tempura cauliflower with sauce on the side. It was crunchy and delicious. I ordered vegetable fried rice with no soy sauce which was half-price on Wednesday. And I ordered some dry rub ribs. The ribs were not as I remember them. It seems a new hire in the kitchen chose to deep fry the ribs instead of slow brazing and then grilling the ribs for that succulent and moist rib meat. The manager worked it out with me very easily. Most importantly I got the ribs made the right way and they were amazing! I also enjoyed a decaffeinated ginger tea which my wait person put on ice for me. That was very refreshing. I can't even call to cancel my order because they are so busy no one is answering the calls. If they can't complete the order on time, why take the order??? I am giving this location one star because of my take out experience. This is the second time we have had issues with this location. The first time the take out Mongolian beef had very little meat. We get it all the time so we know how much should be there. I don't know if they make take out orders smaller but it was noticeably smaller than in the restaurant and even than other take out we usually get. Today I called the order in at 3:26 pm. The place is empty here. I have been sitting by the take out pick up now for five minutes short of an hour later -- 35 minutes after I told the bartender I was here - the manager shows up at that take out desk and I ask her where is my order and she says oh it's sitting in the kitchen. Well did ya think to come out here and see me and ask me? Or tell me? And then I said now the crab wontons will be soggy and she said we can retire them. I said okay hurry up then. And then she goes back and another person. Brings out the rest of the order to sit here and get cold. Some he says I can bring it back to stay warm (okay yeah so it bakes in the plastic containers even longer while I wait for the wontons?!). So now they are refiring the whole order -- what's another 20 minutes when I've waited an hour already. Save yourself the trouble -- eat in here or go somewhere else. I was very let down with the quality of the food , the staff seem over worked and it set a very depressing atmosphere for our visit . I have eaten at several different P.F Changs in the past and have enjoyed it . The food we ordered was not up to par and the meat that was supposed to be flank steak had fibers coming from it that looked like hairs ( extreme turn off ). every thing was over seasoned and not cooked well . I would not eat or recommend this location to any one, the Port Imperial location has a great view of New York ,that's about it . The no menu deal and having to scan your menu is terrible . also if your paying with a credit card they want you to scan an app to use it .I enjoy using a menu and paying a server. I understand these policies were put in place during the Covid -19 period , but if we are no longer having to wear masks then why can't we use normal menus and payment methods again. This used to be one of our favorite places to dine at. Due to social distancing, we ordered takeout tonight. BIG mistake. I ordered the family meal for 4. With tax, $56. The portions were small. They wrote "6oz" on receipt for lo mein, 10 oz for each of 2 entrees for 4 adults. I'm sure 10 oz included the rice. First, they advertised "curb side pickup". No employee was ever curbside in the 53 minutes I waited outside the restaurant in my car. They say "Call when you arrive and we will bring out your order". Except no one ever answers the phone!! Husband had to go in. 20+ people with no masks were crowded into the restaurant looking for staff who rarely appeared. We are supposed to call the police when this happens. We couldn't get a refund and go home. No one wore masks because we were expecting curb side pick up. I hope no one gets sick and dies because they needed PF Changs. We had a 7pm pickup and no food appeared til 7:53. We got home in 7 minutes. Chicken lettuce wraps were refrigerated leftovers with soggy crispy rice noodles. The soup was watered down. The lo mein and 2 small chicken entrees to share were greasy and lukewarm with a 2 oz bit of rice to share! One chicken dish wasn't even the one we ordered. If they have no staff to cook and safely bring out food to customers, don't email me about advertising curb side pick up at the time of my choice if you can't handle it. Very disappointing. Have to say I went in skeptical as the last time we tried the one in Westchester it was mediocre. We were pleasantly surprised about how great our dinner was. From appetizers to our dessert, everything was delish. Our toddler enjoyed her dinner too! To top it off the service was excellent. Despite how busy it was for a Saturday, the host moved our seats for us seamlessly. Our waitress, Allison, was amazing. Always had a smile, engaged with our daughter and gave delicious suggestions. The manager came over and greeted the tables to check in on how we were doing. It was excellent. For an impromptu family dinner night, they well exceeded our expectations.
