Great destination spot for families. If you want to sit where food is delivered by train, expect a wait. The good news is waiting is even more fun. Out back there is playground equipment, ride on toys, an oversized chess set, pigs, sandbox, etc., even the "sugar shack" where adults can get a beer while waiting. The food is VERY greasy, so my kids loved it, of course, but left little for me to order. Last time, i had the salad, it was not good, but that's not why we were there. The caramelized onions on my husband's steak sandwich smelled fantastic, but also looked like it was very heavy and greasy. It seems we always find ourselves coming back here for lunch when we visit. Why I am not sure as I'm not a big fan of kids, but it's a cool feel and the burgers are AMAZING! My family (extended also) have been going here since they've opened. No doubt one the best burgers in Door County. Last time there I had the all you can eat Friday fish fry, I was not disappointed. Great atmosphere for the kids and we always look forward to seeing what new creations have been added. It's always a work in progress with PC Junction. In years past we've always made a point of going there for lunch. Expect to wait if you go for lunch. Plenty of things to keep you occupied while waiting. This year we broke tradition and stopped in for dinner. Great choice. We had immediate seating for a party of 16 & there was enough room for 6 kids to sit by the train. This place is a must see, whether you have kids or not, when visiting Door County. Great family run business that I'm sure will be around for many years to come. We have been here a couple of times. We come so our kids can enjoy watching the train deliver the food and enjoy the atmosphere. However, the food itself is surprisingly good. Parking is atrocious, the special was a patty melt, which was over cooked, and the rye bread was burnt so badly the it was literally crumbling apart. The service was mediocre; I asked for hot sauce, and the server never returned with it. The draw of this place is to sit where the train delivers your meal. Came here after a long weekend in a cabin in Door County. After cooking on an open fire all weekend all we wanted was some real restaurant food. Heard the place was a staple so we decided on it. There wasn't a huge menu to chose from and the food ended up to be average anyway. Not really satisfying, fries had no flavor, and portions were smaller than I expected (not small per say but small for a place like this.) The place looks and feels like it was decorated by a child. I get that that's the theme but it's horrifyingly cringeworthy if you're not into themed restaurants. All in all, don't come here unless you have small children. They'll love it. read more

I love this place for kids themed restaurant! Who doesn't love a train delivery service at the bar? Plus they have a bell and put toys on the train. If you are visiting the Door with kids this is a must stop. You can get your whole meal delivered via a model train. Then after dinner you can ride around on pedal cars, play giant chess, shoot baskets, see the big pig (Rosie) or just hang out. This is a very fun and casual place. TIP: it's a little confusing at first what is were when you get here. Front building has the bar (kids allowed) that delivers your food. PC Junction is awesome. Even before we had kids, we'd go there for the novelty. Now that we have young boys, PCJ is a must stop for every trip to Door County. I think it's perhaps the happiest place in Door County. The menu and food is simple, and they generally do that well. For the uninitiated, block out 2 hours of time to visit. Once you've finished your meal, you can take the kids outside to play on the train, the playgrounds, the pedal bikes, Piggly Field, mystery bus, et cetera. read more

If you LOVE trains or have kids it is neat. However the $$$ for food and the lack of seats near the famed attraction make this a SKIP while in Door Co for us. Prices are full blown white table cloth style, only what you get is something that could be from a local gas station. Even though there was no room at the bar where the train runs, the hostess set up tables at one of the windows on the second floor so the two three year olds in our party could still see the train. I don't think we heard more than a peep from them even when they were eating! Food was better than bar food, as previously stated! One of the best burgers I've had in a long time! Place is sprawling with large bar in a separate barn - and there are fun things to do while you wait. Waitstaff is very good, food just so-so. 5 stars simply because of the novelty of the idea, when you sit at the bar, there's a toy train with trays on it that brings your food and drinks over to where you're sitting. We came here on a Sunday and they weren't too busy yet it took a long time to get seated and then we were just ignored for 25 minutes while we watched the train go around and serve everyone else. Our two year old got squirmy and restless so we just walked out. We are locals, having vacationed up here for ten years and now living up here full time and the service at Door County restaurants, along with the same old tired menus, is just a disappointment. I guess people on vacation don't notice, everyone's having a good time and no one minds paying way too much money for burgers and fries and lousy service. This restaurant with the choo choo train that delivers your meal and drinks made my two year old daughter happier than I can put into words. She had the time of her life bellied up to the train bar as did her sister. It is not only a place to dine but also somewhere you can be entertained and have a fun time. Your drink and meal order are taken at the same time and you are assigned a train stop name. When your order is on its way on the train a "conductor" calls it out and you can watch it be delivered to you. The food itself is just average. Although, the best item on the menu is their fried mac and cheese which my kids loved and which I would order for myself next time. Every time the train comes by it has new toys on it (Batman, Frozen, Mickey Mouse..even a bubble maker!). The staff is very friendly also. This is the greatest place to go with kids!!!!! The food it good but the experience is the greatest!!! They'll usually have a wait in the summer but there is lots to do outside! The entire area is a giant playground! Once seated a train brings around drinks, food and fun toy trinkets. My kids love watching the Disney princesses and the bubble machine go by. If you've got young kids, they will love this place. We took a two year old and he had one of the best experiences (including being well-behaved) he's ever had in a restaurant. All the families with kids were so entranced by the spectacle of the toy train that brings the food (and other fun surprises) out to the dining "stations." We didn't have to wait for a spot during a weekday lunch at the beginning of summer season, but I expect it could get pretty busy. If it does, there's a play area outside the restaurant. I agree with other reviewers that the food is mediocre; it's a basket, paper cups, and plastic silverware kind of place. I have to say, I was really disappointed. The decor in the building was as said in one of the other reviews, cringe-worthy... It looked to have layers and layers of point over the bar and just wasn't the atmosphere I had expected. We sat at the bar that has the train go through and let me just say, don't expect to be comfortable sitting in your seat, because they have everyone JAMMED in there so close together you can barely sit in your seat without elbow nudging the people next to you. This doesn't even BEGIN to describe the food... I wouldn't even compare it to bar food and I would most definitely NOT recommend. I ordered the soup of the day (Creamy chicken and rice) which was luke warm at best and the rice in it was simply sprinkled on top, whether or not it was actually cooked rice I honestly have no idea. Then my husband ordered the BBQ chicken which was obviously sitting in a crock pot since yesterday, sticky and not really the greatest. This was by far the biggest let down of our vacation. We had a group of 5, one little enough to sit on a lap and 4 that would have needed chairs. Upon arriving we told it would be a wait to sit by the train but we wanted to wait why not, the whole reason to stop there. Well when our pager went off we were given 3 seats by the train and two along the wall. We then asked if we could have 4 by the train and have the youngest on the lap. They would not accommodate us. However they had just previously sat 2 groups of 4 (who arrived after us) and a large group of 11( also arrived after us) after requesting to move they sat a group of 4 right where we requested to be. Not only did they constantly bump into those of us sitting along the wall, the food was also dried out and gross. Basically it's fast food served on a train. If you ever go with a group bigger than 4 split up if you all want train seats! read more

This place was a disaster for our family. Extremely Dangerous, Our 3 year old Daughter was running around between " attractions" and ran right through an unmarked fire pit that they apparently " Process Cardboard" in. The previous fire had not been extinguished appropriately and there were still burning hot coals in the area at 12: 45 pm. She tripped, fell, got coal stuck in her shoe and ended up with 2nd degree burns all over her foot and some on her hand. We had to rush her to the nearest urgent care and she now can't walk on her foot for many days and it will take weeks to heal. I don't' know how they can get away with having a burning hot fire area only a few feet away from swing sets and picnic tables with tons of small children running around with no sign or barrier to even let people know that it was a fire pit. Ruined the rest of our vacation. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It is most certainly not to code. My Daughter screamed for hours because of the pain to her foot and now has basically a 3inch by 3inch second degree Burn Blister that is crazy painful. I don't wish burn pain on anyone, especially CHILDREN. read more
