Don't waste your time.... Someone in town recommended this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We got there a little after 7 pm on a Friday night and the hostess said it was going to be about a 30 minute wait. While she was taking our name, another family turned in their pager saying they couldn't wait any longer. ...that should have been my sign! An hour later, we were finally seated. So sad to have to update my review, but our most recent experience bummed us out a bit. It was a very busy night, and the place was bustling. We each ordered a beer while we waited (the host estimated a 45 minute wait time, and it only took 30) for our table. The bartender was really nice. Once we got to it table, we ordered another beer. Beer was good, but it took a very long time to get them after ordering them (17 minutes for two drafts). Food took about 40 minutes, which was ok because it was delicious, and the server apologized for the wait. However, when we were ready to go, we asked our server for the check, and he gave it to us and said he would be right back. More than 15 minutes later, when we had not seen him since, my mother-in-law went outside and found him chatting to customers on the patio. I'm all about having conversations with your customers, but when guests ask for a check, it usually means they're ready to go. We'll probably give it another try next time we're back, but this was a tough ending to the night. read more

We stop here every time we visit the area and we've had consistently good experiences over the last few years. On this visit, we sat at the bar, which we try to do as often as we can, but the dining area is great as well. This time I got the blackened white fish sandwich, which was outstanding. My wife got a burger with no bun.... And no cheese. Don't hate on her, she just doesn't digest dairy very well! She very much enjoyed her burger, and we both got coleslaw's aside. It's the very creamy style, which I really enjoy. Drinks are great and reasonably priced and the bartenders are very attentive and friendly. Mink River Basin offers up dishes filled to brimming with fresh made pub fare. Their dining room is simple but comfortable and their service is prompt and friendly. On a recent trip here, we ordered an order of their onion rings to start. Their onion rings are beer battered and appear hand dipped and fried. They were, in a word, phenomenal. For my main, I got their whitefish reuben, which was really big and tasty. For my side, I got their fries with a side of their garlic aioli (at the suggestion of my server, which was spot on). The fries appeared fresh cut and were pitch perfect. We also ordered a couple of beers off their expansive beer menu. We were pleased to see an imperial stout from Central Waters on the list and it did not disappoint. The prices were a bit on the higher end for pub food ($100 ish for 2 beers and three entrees) but it is Door County. Get to it! read more

We stopped in for a late lunch and they only had the bartender, one waitress and cook on staff so the wait was a bit long. Our party had the pork egg rolls - not a lot of pork and a bit greasy. The burger was cooked okay and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich was also okay. The fires were good. The food was okay, nothing extraordinary. Everything about this restaurant is perfect, except for the cherry crisp dessert. Now, when you think about cherry crisp, you imagine a warm dessert, with a yummy topping, and maybe some ice cream. Not at this place. What was brought out was a freezing cold cup of cherry pie filling with a sliver of granola on top. We did not finish it. Our waiter did offer an Oreo cheesecake, but mentioned that the lady who made the desserts had been doing so for a very long time. I just find it really hard to believe anyone has every found this to taste good. I've never been served a dessert that was so bad. This is a really neat bar and restaurant! My friend and I stopped in for a drink on a Saturday afternoon in the fall. The place was packed! Maybe this is where the locals go, not sure. Nice atmosphere for this type of place. A lot of arcade games, which is fun. For the beer drinker nice selection of beer. I had a breaded white fish sandwich, which was extremely good. I also appreciate that they make a fresh cut fries. I'm someone who is very anti-Donald Trump. Before I left, I had noticed and was disappointed to see pro Trump/Biden insulting things hanging up. That alone will keep me from coming back. It's the first time I've never seen that up here in Door County which seems to be overall progressively Liberal. read more

Visited Door County in October 2025. Looking for a place for lunch an found Mink River Basin Bar. WOW what a fantastic place. I happened to be wearing my Navy Vet Hat and when I ordered my Spotted Cow Beer ( Which is the best beer I have had in a long time ) The Bartender pulled a Chit from the Register and said no charge. Needless to say came back the next day and funded a chit for another Vet. Food and Drink were outstanding and wish I could remember Bartender's name , If we lived anywhere close would be there frequently. Thanks for a great time at Mink River Basin. read more

Corey and Lindon do a great job behind the bar. Best wings in Door County. They have been tinkering with the recipe and it seems they hit solid gold with this latest recipe rendition. We were vacationing to Door County and wanted to go to a sports bar that we could watch the Brewer Playoff game at. Our campground down the street recommended this bar. Our food and service were great! The bar was packed for the game and it seemed like most people were locals. There were TVs everywhere in all locations of the restaurant. We stopped in for lunch yesterday as I read they have an impossible burger, so I thought I could eat something as I knew my hubby could have a beef burger. M hubby enjoyed his burger, but his fries were overcooked as he asked for them to be crispy. My impossible burger was clearly cooked on the same grill as the meat is cooked, as I could taste it and the patty was super thin, which is not the norm with impossible burgers. So if you are a vegan, this is not the place for you. My tummy hurt, but I am grateful that I didn't get sick, which I did worry about. read more

We loved Mink River Basin! A few people in our group had been there before, but it was my first time. We were able to be sat as a party of 6 right away and our server was awesome. We started with cheese curds and the hand made pork egg rolls, which were both great and they have awesome ranch. We got a few different meals including soup, white fish sandwiches, and I had Mac n cheese with buffalo chicken. The cheese sauce was homemade and was incredible! They also brought out a dessert for my birthday and sang a short funny song. They also gave us a round of shots. I love this place!! Everything is delicious in this American-Wisconsin style pub and restaurant with a large game room attached. We dine here often and have been very happy with everything that we have ordered. I understand that there is a new chef in the kitchen and he is to be commended. The hamburgers are among the best on the Peninsula, and so are the patty melts. The French fries are excellent as are the egg rolls, which is a complete surprise. The drinks are solid, tasty, and generous, and a special shout out has to be given to the hostesses and the extra friendly and knowledgeable waitresses. My only complaint is that the TVs are everywhere for sport season, which becomes a little annoying out of season with junk channels streaming. read more

First and only bad experience I've had in Door County. We came here with a group of 7 people. The hostess was very nice and said they could make it work (the sign on the door says they don't accept tables with more than 6 people). We waited for over an hour. We finally asked if we split a table if we could be seated. We were seated at two separate tables shortly after. The food was decent. I had the cream of chicken and wild rice soup and the chicken fingers. The inside of this place is really cool and there's a game room if you want to play games while waiting for a table. I would have already taken off a star for the extremely long wait and the fact they only accept groups of 6 or less. I bumped it further down to 2 stars due to the horrible service. Our waitress was awful. She approached our table with attitude to start with. Then she asked if we wanted drinks. Me and 2 others replied and then she looked at my sister in law and as she was about to say what drink she wanted, the waitress stormed off. So then she came back and brought my sister in law a water and said "since you didn't say what drink you wanted, I brought you a water." Then she says to my boyfriend "Oh, and I brought you a water too." All of this was with 100% attitude. I was actually uncomfortable at this point. Her energy was so negative. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I thought maybe she was just having a bad day and her attitude would end there. She comes back to take our order and when I ordered the soup, she asked if I want it to come out before my lunch. I said yes please. It took forever to get the soup. Then she brings our food out. We finished and it took forever for her to come back. Didn't check on us once. Half of the group we were with at the other table already had their check- they just said we'll meet you back at the Air BnB. They said their waitress was great. While waiting for the check, we asked an older lady working there if we could get boxes. She brought them out quickly. Our waitress finally comes back and I asked if my boyfriend and I could be on our own check. She said with major attitude and annoyance that she couldn't split the check or else she would get in trouble. However, when she first came to our table, she said we could because I also asked about it then. We ended up finding out from the table next to us (not from our group- just complete strangers) that their waitress allowed them to split the check. I think our waitress just didn't want to deal with splitting the check. It was not a lot of food. 3 entrees and a soup(me and my boyfriend shared an entree). I will never come back and I won't recommend this establishment to others I know who frequent Door County. read more

Stopped for a bite to eat as we toured Door County! The sign outside for "cold beer and arcade" enticed us, as my husband loves pinball and I love cold beverages haha. We were seated quickly! They have a large beer menu, which was hard to choose from! We ordered a basket of fries (comes with aoli) and cheese curds (comes with ranch). Our food came very fast! I tried ordering a few different beers, however the kegs blew and I wasn't able to order my first or second pics. The hostess gave us our beer on the house- which was so nice and not necessary but gratefully appreciated! I ended up getting a fruited sour (watermelon mint) which was very refreshing. We tried keeping it local when we ordered, which was easy because there was so much on the menu that was brewed locally. All of our beers were delicious (I can't remember everything we got). Service was fast and attentive. If you're looking for a smaller town bar feel, with some arcade games and a cute patio, this is worth the stop! Definitely try the fries and cheese curds. Server was great, food good bar fare. We had an issue with the undisclosed "admin/service charge" of almost $5.00 on a bill for $70. When I asked to speak to the manager the hostess said he was "busy sitting at the bar with his friends" and couldn't speak with us. She then walked away and didn't return! We have gone to this restaurant many times but this is the first we have noticed the charge. I get that many places are doing this but it's usually voluntary and disclosed. Mink River Basin was recommended to us by a "local" which are always the best people to ask, and we were glad we listened! We sat ourselves at the bar when they opened at noon, and received prompt and attentive service. I started with a delicious well balanced Bloody Mary and my husband chose from the 35 different craft beers on tap. It was nice to get some guidance from the bartender/ owner. Hubby was feeling adventurous and ordered the White Fish Reuben with homemade fries. He loved it! I went with the lawyer fish sandwich with homemade coleslaw. I had never heard of lawyer fish and the owner explained it was considered the cod of Lake Michigan. It was served on a toasted bun with homemade tartar sauce and fresh garnish.
