Cracked sloppy grout

Read my prior review in the non-recommended section. The masonry project was a simply a disaster. The masonry looked better before the project was started. I paid a fortune and it looks worse than before they started the project. I am completely unsatisfied with the finished project.

BEWARE ‼ I strongly…read moreurge homeowners to do their research before hiring Groundworks New Haven. We hired Groundworks to install an earth anchor system to stabilize our foundation. What was supposed to be a preventative foundation project turned into a prolonged, incredibly stressful experience involving property damage, delays, miscommunication, and an ongoing dispute over compensation. The project was originally scheduled for March 30-31, but the work ultimately extended from April 1 through April 24. Throughout the process, we experienced repeated issues, including a no-show and scheduling miscommunication, significant disruption to our property, and equipment becoming stuck and sinking into our yard. Long metal rods created access issues around our garage and deck, and damage occurred to our deck, driveway, and other areas of the property. Our internet cable was also pulled during the work, which was especially disruptive while working from home. We were left dealing with damage that required professional assessments and substantial repair estimates. Our deck repair estimate alone exceeds $13,500, and our total documented repair estimates exceed $70,000. What has been particularly frustrating is the handling of the situation after the work was "completed", meaning they pulled from the project and tried getting out of there as quickly as they could. Despite our documentation, photographs, repair estimates, and communications regarding what occurred, the insurance adjuster handling the claim has valued the damage at approximately $11,000. That figure falls drastically short of the documented cost of repairs, and our efforts to have the offer revised have been unsuccessful. This has become far more than an inconvenience. We are now left trying to resolve a substantial property-damage dispute while facing the prospect of significant out-of-pocket costs to restore our home and property. We hired Groundworks because we wanted to protect our home's foundation and address concerns before they became worse. Instead, we have spent months documenting damage, water seeping in, obtaining estimates, communicating with management and insurance representatives, and trying to obtain a resolution that reflects the actual cost of repairs. I understand that construction projects can encounter unexpected challenges. What matters is how a company handles those challenges, takes responsibility, and works toward a fair resolution when a customer's property is damaged. Based on our experience to date, we are extremely disappointed with the outcome and the lack of a satisfactory resolution. I would encourage anyone considering Groundworks to carefully document their property before work begins, photograph the entire work area, get all project details in writing, and understand how damage claims will be handled before signing a contract. We are still seeking a fair resolution for the damage to our property. As of the date of this review, this matter remains unresolved.

Then my daughter luckily, observed Nick & realized the concrete step they were pouring, near the backdoor was too much of a drop to be safe & gave him direction on a solution. Where walkway & patio met, the cement was slapped on with no attempt to blend or delineate the combination of the two. The patio looks like a patchwork quilt. Seams, and footprints with numerous discolorations and stop & start imprints on cement prominent throughout. Nick's consistent reply to dissatisfaction with the patio was "once it settles, will be fine." Anything BUT fine, & after a time he agreed to "sand it." First with a small hand held sander with no improvement. Then with an industrial upright sander, he had ZERO control over. It flipped and tipped & flew through the air, as he tried unsuccessfully to hang on. This put circular gouges into cement. So patchwork now has circular gouges, as in alien landing sites. Nick Filled my refuge containers with cement bags . Nick consistently, & without permission helped himself to items in the garage. I continue to find cigarette butts in the yard, along with water bottles in the flower pots. I kept waiting for the Candid Camera crew to reveal themselves. They did not, but if I can save even one family from the nightmare of Nick's Masonry LLC, then it will have been worth my time to share this Nightmare.
