Posting here because my google review was taken down and they are not allowing reviews to be posted…read moreat the moment. I have never had to repost a negative review or felt the need to, but this business is one I feel everyone should avoid. In November of 2025, about a week after my family and I moved into our new home, we called A1 to get a quote for a chimney liner which is something we knew we would need when we closed on our house. Johnny came to our house, and after inspecting our chimney told us that we cannot use heat or hot water until the sleeve is installed because of the carbon monoxide being too dangerous of a risk. He tells us this as I'm holding my 4 month old daughter, he said it's dangerous and that we should open up the windows if we decide to take a hot shower because the risk is that imminent. He gives us a price of $6,000 which was more than double what we had thought it would be, but out of fear for our infant daughter, decided to pay the deposit. AFTER the $3,000 deposit, he tells us they can't be here for 2 weeks. No heat or hot water in November for two weeks? With a deadly level of CO2? Immediately after he left we felt not great about the situation and within the hour of him leaving we called to get a refund of our deposit and cancel our appointment, the receptionist told us they would get back to us next day. And then 10 minutes later, Johnny calls me on his personal phone and is very pushy and rude about how he "already ordered the materials and it's too late to cancel" and tells me for the first time that they will keep 30% of our deposit if we cancel. After an entire week of calling multiple times a day trying to get our money back, they finally call back. Well, Johnny calls me, and tells me I'm a liar and that he never made it seem like we were in danger and that he'll give us the deposit back but he's keeping the chimney cleaning fee even though they didn't clean the chimney. He also admits that it was only his "expert opinion on CO2 levels" and did not actually use a meter to read the levels anywhere in my home. Any company that uses fear and manipulation to book jobs should be shut down. We did end up getting the sleeve a few weeks later from another company, for $2,500. Do not ever work with this company. Not honest, overpriced, and unprofessional. I will continue to post my experience and if this gets taken down again, guess what I'll be back. Married name is Stanley in case A1 wants to comment "can't find your account with us" under this. ALSO we asked Johnny to look at our wood burning fireplace and he told us it would cost $3000 to do a special coating on the firebox so that it's safe to use because it's in really bad shape, when the company that did our chimney sleeve came, I asked him to look at the firebox to see if it was good to use and he said it looks like no one has ever used the fireplace it was in perfect shape. We enjoyed fires all winter long, with our money safe in our pockets.

The siding he replaced on our house is falling off and warped after barely two years. His attempts to fix it made it worse and now he is refusing to refund us. We had two independent contractors come out and verified everything was done incorrectly and poorly. Nick also only employees people who are not qualified for the job and do not speak English so you cannot communicate with them. Nick was rude to me and refused to listen when issues were raised. Avoid if you don't want to deal with a headache. *Nick decided to use a picture from our construction on this page. Please see my pictures for the real quality of his work.

Absolute Nightmare. Requested small concrete patio to attach to existing concrete walkway. Nick…read moremanaged to get his truck "stuck" with "tires spinning", in the yard. Then my daughter luckily, observed Nick & realized the concrete step they were pouring, near the backdoor was too much of a drop to be safe & gave him direction on a solution. Where walkway & patio met, the cement was slapped on with no attempt to blend or delineate the combination of the two. The patio looks like a patchwork quilt. Seams, and footprints with numerous discolorations and stop & start imprints on cement prominent throughout. Nick's consistent reply to dissatisfaction with the patio was "once it settles, will be fine." Anything BUT fine, & after a time he agreed to "sand it." First with a small hand held sander with no improvement. Then with an industrial upright sander, he had ZERO control over. It flipped and tipped & flew through the air, as he tried unsuccessfully to hang on. This put circular gouges into cement. So patchwork now has circular gouges, as in alien landing sites. Nick Filled my refuge containers with cement bags . Nick consistently, & without permission helped himself to items in the garage. I continue to find cigarette butts in the yard, along with water bottles in the flower pots. I kept waiting for the Candid Camera crew to reveal themselves. They did not, but if I can save even one family from the nightmare of Nick's Masonry LLC, then it will have been worth my time to share this Nightmare.
