Back for another great golf outing with my friends at the iconic Pebble Beach resort. Unfortunately this dinner experience was disappointing. Service was ok at best. The place is nicely decorated but the food was average. One of the steaks hand to be sent back. The Caesar salad had a next to no dressing. The mushroom soup was bland. Appetizers to include the prosciutto and the sausage was tasty but this year was nothing like the past years. Somewhat of a disappointing dinner.

After many visits finally a review on Spanish Bay's lovely Italian restaurant, Peppoli. Spanish Bay only has two restaurants, Roy's and Peppoli, the latter which is the star of the Resort. I'd give 4.5 stars if possible- it's that good. The Chef is a lovely Italian woman that knows food and while I haven't personally spoken to her I'm sure she'd agree that she feels like her dinner guests are coming to her house for dinner. Service is always top notch. Most are folks that have been working here 15-20 years. That says a lot to me. And if a restaurant takes great care of its people you can imagine how they care for their diners. Peppoli is a partnership with the Pebble Beach Co, Antinori Wine, local restaurant owner Peppe who owns several Italian restaurants in Carmel. Whatever it works. First a lovely menu covering all the checkboxes for Italian food choices. Ever meal we've had here is consistent. Last night was osobucco, Caesar salad, fresh bread for the table, filet mignon and Carbonara Pasta. Mark our server saw me having a hard time choosing a bottle of wine--so many choices and a Wine Spectator Award winner too boot. He mentioned Sassicaia, a great choice but not wanting spend way BiG $, he recommended the '22 Tenuta. Sassicaia's second label. So for about $175 we got a stunning bottle. That's part of the service you always get at Peppoli. Enough! Just go and enjoy. Call for reservations

Always a nice dining experience. Everyone's warm and welcoming, very attentive and helpful. The place exudes warmth and elegance even though you can come here in resort wear; dressing up is always an option. I have dined here a couple of times and both experiences were excellent. Food is delish you can never go wrong with whatever you pick!

Watched the sunset over Pebble Beach with some good wine, good food, good company and good service for Mom's birthday celebration. It was such a wonderful time! Ordered the prosciutto and ricotta appetizer: healthy serving of prosciutto and the ricotta and toasted points were deliciously warmed. Subtle flavor to everything. Fusilli with shrimp pasta and the short rib meals were good. Great? I can't say great but good. Really beautiful jumbo shrimp with light lemon flavor. I was excited about the made from scratch pasta but I was hoping it was more savory delicious. The short ribs were pretty fatty, unfortunately. Definitely not fall off the bone texture. The broccoli rabe on the side was great. It was supposed to come with polenta but they graciously swapped it out for spaghetti with marinara (delicious!) bc Mom isn't a fan of polenta. Eating outside, we were nervous about it being cold. Luckily they were quite accommodating with "3d" heat: fire pit on the table, heater above us and standing heater to the side of us. Last but not least, their birthday treat for Mom was lovely: chocolate cake with coconut sorbet. Mmmmmmmm that sorbet... Why not five stars: the food was good. We were hoping for incredible...and it was just good. ‍

Nice upscale restaurant at the links at Spanish bay golf resort. Service is great with multiple people taking care of you. Great wine list over 70 pages. I had the pappardelle pasta and my wife paglia e fieno pasta both were delicious. Try to get to the resort prior to dinner and watch the bag piper who performs 5:20 to 5:45

We love Peppoli's and try to come here at least once and preferably twice every year when we come for Car Week! The views are stunning and the bagpiper coming out near dusk makes everyone so happy! The food is delicious! We were there last night and I had the short ribs while my son had the rigatoni w/bolognese. Classic!

We tried Peppoli for the first time time and loved it! We had the crab bisque, bolognese, and straw and hay pasta. For dessert, we had the tiramisu. The food was amazing, the service was wonderful, and the ambience is amazing! We will definitely be back.

The view is just spectacular. If the weather is nice, definitely sit outside. The food is a bit overpriced and nothing to rave about. It's pretty average Italian food, but the atmosphere is what sold me.

Always a special dinner @pebblebeachresorts Peppoli. They make the best martinis and the complimentary house bread is so fresh and delish. We started with the perfectly tender and lightly battered fritto misto- fennel, lemon, calamari, and rock shrimp served with the best marinara. For our first course we had the soup of the day (a traditional tomato pepper soup), the Caesar salad split, and the special tomato bread soup. All were exceptional- so simple and yet perfectly prepared with the best ingredients in a traditional way. For mains almost everyone had the house made lasagna. It truly is exceptional and I will be ordering next time , especially because they are happy to split an order. The short ribs with polenta were tender and flavorful. The Amatriciana was homemade spaghetti with pomodoro sauce, bacon, and spicy Calabrian chili. For dessert a complimentary bday dessert of coconut sorbet and chocolate ganache cake. Service is attentive, formal, and welcoming. One of our all time favs!

Our waiter was extremely nice and efficient. I forgot his name, but he was very knowledgeable about the menu and super accommodating. The food, service, and drinks were incredible. We had an amazing experience when we dined her at dinnertime. We will definitely be back soon!

The pizza: We ordered a straightforward Margherita, which should be impossible to mess up. Somehow they managed. Just... not good. The whole experience felt like a restaurant coasting on Carmel's tourist traffic rather than actually trying. I suspect this is a symptom of what's happened to Carmel post-COVID. They got high volume of tourists, small pool of service industry workers, and restaurants that know they can get away with overcharging for subpar food because people will come anyway. It's sad to see. Carmel used to be a place where you could count on quality. Little Napoli felt like a tourist trap that happens to be in a beautiful town.

My friend and I made a dinner reservation a couple weeks in advance, and it wasn't too crowded on Mother's Day weekend! Rucolina ($18): Salad to share, perfect amount for 2. Arugula, beets, Gorgonzola, candied walnuts are a classic combo and we polished it. Linguine Alla Pescatora ($45): I thought it was so funny two girls next to us ordered this to share, but my friend ate it all by herself LOL. A huge dish of seafood, they don't skimp! I tried a mussel and the sauce was excellent. Gnocchi (small $22, large $44): I was hesitant about ordering gnocchi because I never like the gnocchi I've ordered at other Italian restaurants. Never thought me a gnocchi snob, but here I am. But other reviews raved about Il Tegamino's gnocchi (our waitress included) so I did it. Ok fine it's the best gnocchi I've ever had. Pillowy soft, straight out of the oven, still sizzling and bubbling when it was placed in front of me. It was cheesy and potatoey without either flavor overpowering the other, and the mushroom truffle sauce is IT. It needs the sauce. I ordered the large and had leftovers to share with my mom, but you bet I could've finished it. I would come back just for this! We picked this place expecting it to be a treat and a bit of a splurge, so we expected the prices. Our server was lovely; my friend loves sweeter white wines but a Moscato wasn't on the menu. She disappeared into the kitchen and came back out with a heavy pour of Moscato and my friend loved it! I first thought it was bold of her to assume she'd want the full glass but she was right :)

For starters, we had an appetizer truffle gnocchi, which was wonderful and a dish of olives with feta cheese, which was very good but missing something like bread or crackers. For a salad, we ordered two Piemontese (romaine) salads to split for three people. The quantity was good, but the lettuce was still defrosting, tasted a little frozen and was watery without flavor or crispiness romaine usually provides. When paying $40 for the two salads, I would usually expect fressher lettuce. For dinner, we had an order of Linguine Alla Pescatora (a seafood pasta with shrimp, scallops, mussles and clams), which contained good pasta noodles and seafood, but did not contain enough pasta and used a red sauce that I was not a fan of. A light white sauce or olive oil/white wine sauce would have been better combination. We also had an order of the Paccheri Al Ragu Napoletano (meat pasta, with large noodles, short rib and pork sausage). The pasta itself seemed good and was cooked well, the meat seemed to be cooked well, but the red sauce lacked flavor and the dish was overall underwhelming. For dessert, we had a tiramisu, which was a variation of the traditional recipe that included some chocolate and not really a tiramisu, but still tasted good. We also had a desert that included ice cream, biscotti and whipped cream with a shot of espresso over it. While it could have used some more ice cream, overall it was still very good; largely due to the fresh whipped cream. (Both deserts could have been a little bigger, even if it meant a bigger price tag.) Our server and busser were very attentive and friendly. The appetizers, deserts, service and outside ambiance saved the experience, but the barely edible salads and the boring entrees were not enough to make me want to revisit again.

We've been coming here for years and I've never, not once, been disappointed. Everything about Mezzaluna is amazing. Mezzaluna's a fairly small restaurant so I always book a reservation. They have a smallish, but very nice, lounge area if your table isn't ready or you're just showing up for a drink. Their staff is beyond friendly and their bartender knows how to make a cocktail. The prices, in my opinion are very reasonable and the portions are what you'd expect. I RARELY, if ever, take home leftovers but this is one of my few restaurant leftover exceptions. I almost always get Rigatoni alla Buttera and my wife the Al Nero con Vongole but not always. Everything we've ever had on the menu is amazing. All the pasta is made fresh in house, and you can taste it. I've eaten at every Italian restaurant in Carmel, and sure Taylor Swift didn't eat here, but I'm glad she didn't. I want this place to be sucessful but I also want to keep this gem out of the Hollywood spotlight. This place stand on its own without needing that kind of notoriety. Restaurants like this let the food, which is what their, they're for do the talking. A few small notes for those who may not have dined here before: 1) Outside seating is right next to highway 68. So that's not the most "awesome" outdoor dining experience, but it is what it is right, but worth a note. 2) The parking lot can be a bit crowded so depending on the night, plan a little extra time to possibly have a small walk if the lot's full. 3) LOCAL/HACK! They have an awesome wine list (for in house dining or to take home). Their prices are VERY VERY good. BUT, the cool thing is if you bring a bottle of wine, and buy one from them, they will waive the corkage fee for that one bottle.
