OK, I've heard about this place but was so excited to try the oyster bar at the Durango Hotel in Las Vegas. This might sound crazy, but this was a dining experience that I just didn't expect there are only 15 seats in the restaurant which looks more like a circle oyster bar. The line gets extensive, but it's so much worth the wait. I recommend checking out the menu so that by the time you are seated you know exactly what you want. We tried the raw oysters which were high quality and ordered the shrimp pan roast and also the gumbo. Both are accompanied with rice. We scooped out bowls into the rice so that any leftovers we could take and it would feel soupy Another reason why this place was so cool is that as you're watching the chefs make everybody's meals it almost becomes a dining show. Finally got to try this place after years of attempting to go but the line ending up to be too long. And it did not disappoint!!! The oysters were so fresh and juicy, the pan roast was EXTREMELY flavorful and the gumbo was nice and beefy. Both the pan roast and gumbo were packed with proteins. I just wanted to show some love again to Durango Casino's Oyster Bar! This location has become our go to Oyster Bar now. Yes, it's off the Strip, but Durango is one of my favorite off strip locals' casino. Compared to the other Oyster Bar locations inside the Station owned casino it has less wait times especially in the early hours. It's 24 hours and we come early in the morning to dine or grab it to go when we're about to drive home. The staff has always been kind and welcoming here. The chefs are very good at making their kettle bows for patrons. They constantly make sure the tables are very clean and presentable. We've never had a bad experience dining at Durango's Oyster Bar. Recently, I had the Durango Pan Roast and my wife loves the Gumbo. I got mine at level 4 since I don't wanna pay for it later with too much spice. Lol. The food is always nicely presented and the bowl of creamy goodness always pops with its vibrant color. I try my best to save the pan roast for later because it's one of my favorite dishes of ALL TIME! The way Oyster Bar makes these Pan Roasts is different from the rest. I love the Oyster Bar! One of the main reasons I love this restaurant is the fact that it's open 24 hours. This particular location inside the Durango is my favorite. The original one at Palace Station is busy at all hours of the day. However, the Durango one will usually have a few seats available in the early morning with little to no wait time. This doesn't mean the quality isn't as great; it's a great location to dine if you might be pressed for time. We have dined here more than once and ordered items to go before driving home. Oyster bar locations have bar-top seating. This one has 20 seats to accommodate customers. My favorite orders are the half dozen oysters and the House Gumbo. All dishes are made to order and prepared right in front of all the guests. When you order a main dish here, you can choose your spice levels. 1-3 is "Amateur", 4-7 is "We're Impressed", and 8-10 is "We Dare You". The level of spice I usually get is level 2. It has the right amount of heat where I can still enjoy the dish. The Gumbo is my favorite because of its rich Creole flavor. They are generous with the protein portions. The House Gumbo has shrimp, crab, and lobster all mixed together. Each kettle order comes with a side of white rice and complimentary bread and butter. The service is always excellent. I drove in from LA to make a stop here before we checked in to our hotel on the strip and we felt that it was definitely worth it! This location of Oyster Bar is located at the new food hall at Durango Hotel. Durango opened in 2024 and is located off the strip. When we left Durango closer to noon, there seemed to be a little line. To eat, we ordered a dozen oysters. The oysters were standard in flavor, but they were quite huge. They were served with cocktail sauce, horseradishes, and lemon wedges and that's all it needed! For a few of the oysters, I added a dash of cholula; however, you don't really need that. The pan roast is definitely the star of the show here and you should definitely order it. I ordered it 7/10 spicy and I thought that the spice was relatively mild for my tastes. My wife went with 4/10 spicy and she would have preferred 7/10 spicy. The roast was with a tomato and cream base and it was filled with lobster, shrimp, and lump crab. It was warm, which coated our stomachs and warmed us from the inside out. It's rich, creamy, and a substantial portion. I'm so glad we stopped by and we'd come back again.
