Durango pan roast and gumbo
Sistine M.

I brought some pan roast back for my daughter when I came is September. She requested this as her first meal in Vegas when she turned 21. I've been a longtime fan of the Palace Station Oyster Bar. Durango has shorter lines, but I've seen them growing longer, now that more people are becoming more aware that there's a new location. Oysters are fresh. Pan Roast is a must. My favorite is the Durango Pan Roast- I usually go for spice level 5 or 6. The gumbo is pretty good too. Not overly salty. You can't go wrong with Clam chowder either. The last time I went Brian took care of us. You da man, Brian!

We totally lucked out and arrived when there was no line, a rare occurrence for the Oyster Bar at Durango Casino & Resort. Everything we ordered hit the spot. The clam chowder was rich, creamy, and comforting, the pan roast (spicy level 7) was packed with flavor, and the gumbo had just the right amount of spice and depth. Even the salad was fresh and well done. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered extra clam chowder and shrimp scampi to take back with us. Friendly service, excellent seafood, and absolutely worth stopping by if you can catch it without the long wait.

OK, I've heard about this place but was so excited to try the oyster bar at the Durango Hotel in Las Vegas. This might sound crazy, but this was a dining experience that I just didn't expect there are only 15 seats in the restaurant which looks more like a circle oyster bar. The line gets extensive, but it's so much worth the wait. I recommend checking out the menu so that by the time you are seated you know exactly what you want. We tried the raw oysters which were high quality and ordered the shrimp pan roast and also the gumbo. Both are accompanied with rice. We scooped out bowls into the rice so that any leftovers we could take and it would feel soupy Another reason why this place was so cool is that as you're watching the chefs make everybody's meals it almost becomes a dining show. Very interactive and friendly.

Located in the Durango casino off the strip towards the back with all the other restaurants. Great ambience to eat away from all the casino cigarette smoke. Wait was about 20 minutes, I think they have around 20 seats. The pan roast was awesome. I got the pan roast with chicken, andouille sausage, crab, and shrimp. Lots of tomato goodness kept me full. Also had bread service. For the amount you get the price was awesome. Definitely try this new location for pan roast!

I've visited this oyster bar a few times now but hadn't gotten around to writing a review until now. I went on a Saturday afternoon, and surprisingly, the line wasn't long at all. My friends and I only waited about 15-20 minutes before being seated. Once we sat down, our server, Grace, helped us right away and was attentive throughout the entire meal. The complimentary bread wasn't our favorite--it was a bit too hard for our taste--but everything else made up for it. We started with half a dozen of the chef's featured oysters, which were fresh and delicious. For our main entrée, we ordered the combo with shrimp, lobster, and crab, and added sausage. I chose a spice level of 6/10, and it was absolutely perfect. This place easily has the best pan roast in town packed with flavor and served in a generous portion. I always request Chef Bobby when I visit. He has exceptional customer service, is always smiling, and cooks everything quickly and perfectly. Chef Vee is also fantastic they both create a fun, engaging atmosphere and really connect with customers. That level of interaction truly sets this place apart from other oyster bars in Vegas. Grace, our server, was amazing as well she consistently checked in on us and made sure we were taken care of. It's honestly impressive how well they operate with such a small team. There's almost always a line whenever you walk by, which says a lot. I would definitely recommend the oyster bar at Durango!

Finally got to try this place after years of attempting to go but the line ending up to be too long. And it did not disappoint!!! The oysters were so fresh and juicy, the pan roast was EXTREMELY flavorful and the gumbo was nice and beefy. Both the pan roast and gumbo were packed with proteins. We ended up sharing the pan roast and taking the entire bowl of gumbo home. Our server Grace and chef Bobby were amazing and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout the entire meal. Pro tip: order the lava sauce to add to your food for a more garlicky and spicy kick.

I'm not sure why, but I was craving pan roast. I've wanted to go to this spot for a while and decided to go with my boyfriend on a Saturday during lunchtime. We had to wait some time because there are only a few stools at the bar. We were the first in line. After waiting 15 minutes, we were seated and the line definitely grew significantly. Eating in this atmosphere was unique watching the chefs cook your food in front of you. My boyfriend got the gumbo and I got the pan roast. The chef had accidentally made two gumbos but was able to fix that mistake fairly quickly. I enjoyed the food although I'm not sure it's a place I would return to often due to value and waiting in line.

Craving a pan roast, so we had to check out the Oyster Bar at Durango Casino & Resort. If you know Vegas, you know the Stations casinos each have their own version of the iconic Oyster Bar and this one definitely holds its own. When we walked in, the bar looked pretty full at first, but I immediately spotted four empty seats tucked away in the corner (Vegas luck was on our side ). The customer service was friendly from the start, and shout out to Bobby for making our experience fantastic. Behind the counter, Bobby was doing his thing straight up making magic. We ordered the pan roast loaded with sausage, crab, shrimp, and lobster. Rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned. The kind of dish that pulls you in from the first bite and doesn't let go. It's hearty, indulgent, and absolutely worth every spoonful. It's honestly hard to describe unless you've had one before. But if you haven't? Do yourself a favor and head down to Durango Casino Resort and get that pan roast. You'll get it after the first bite.

Pan Roast Combo Spice Level 8

The Oyster Bar at Palace Station is closer to me but I decided to try the Durango location one morning while I was in the area. It was before 7am so the place was completely empty. I ordered the pan roast combo at spice level 8 and it was so good! The flavor was rich, perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of heat without overpowering everything else. It definitely hit the spot! The staff working that morning were both awesome from the second I sat down until I left with a full, happy tummy. Friendly, attentive and welcoming the entire time! I'll have to come back to try the oysters next time but overall it was a great visit and I'm glad I stopped by this location!

Getting a spot at Oyster Bar is quite the challenge; for starters, there's no reservation - first come, first served! Except the seat availability may be unpredictable, and there are only about 15 seats available. My friend and I were delighted that there was no wait in the afternoon when we arrived. Despite being in the casino, I was indeed carded... but we were sat fairly quickly. We started with their sweet oysters, though they also have savory ones. Seems like you can't easily mix and match or just order one, though. The gentleman shucking the oysters in the back was also a sweet fellow. My friend ordered a Pan Roast, and I had their Bouillabaisse. And let me tell you, the southern lady chef that took care of us - AMAZING. Her culinary artistry was a sight to behold, with each entree freshly and masterfully prepared. For the Pan Roast, she really accommodate a highly spicer (lv 12) and the Bouillabaisse (lv 7). Both came with sourdough bread, butter, and a bowl of rice. Both our entrees were the highlight of the visit; the spice levels were perfect, the flavors were a delicate balance of sea- and sweet. All seafood from shrimp to lobster were CRISP. Now, there ain't anything fancy about those counters or decor, but when you're sat, that service was top tier. Oyster Bar has definitely made it to my list of "must visits" if I'm ever in town - one of the few spots where hospitality and taste are well worth the price. And yes, those portions are deceivingly small or medium... they were indeed a full meal.

Let's get straight to the point: The Pan Roast is the star of the show. If you're coming here and not ordering this, you're doing it wrong. The sauce is velvety, rich, and packed with a deep, savory complexity that lingers. It's that perfect balance of cream, tomato, and secret spices that makes you want to ask for an extra side of bread just to soak up every last drop. It's easily a 5-star dish on its own. Did I mention the bread dip already? Worth the extra words.... I also tried the Dirty Alaskan Chowder. It's a solid, hearty bowl with a nice kick. It's definitely "dirty" in the best way, but it's a "lumberjack" type of dish. Beyond the food, the steam kettle setup is a high-pressure, double-walled cooking system that uses indirect steam heat to cook your meal with incredible speed and precision. Unlike a traditional stovetop, the steam circulates between the stainless steel layers to provide perfectly uniform heat, allowing the chefs to rapidly reduce and emulsify heavy cream, tomato, and spices without any risk of scorching the sauce. This creates a rich, bubbling emulsion in minutes that is then tilted and poured directly from the kettle into your bowl. Really cool :-)

Michelle N.

5 stars for how big the oysters were, and absolutely delicious! The bar isn't very big-- maybe 15 seats. There's was a constant line and the wait was about 45 min on a Thurs night but it was well worth it. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail and each had a pan roast. Everything was good, and don't forget the garlic habanero sauce!

Peel and Eat shrimp and clam chowder
Martha S.

The food was delicious! We had the peel and eat shrimp, half dozen oysters, clam chowder, gumbo and the pot roast. Every single dish was so tasty and fresh. The smells the entire time are mesmerizing. Chef Bobby and Grace were absolutely amazing! They made this dinner such a fun time. Definitely worth the wait!

My husband and I each ordered a pound of shrimp each but in different preparations. I ordered mine in garlic with 2 corn and one potato with the shrimp peeled without the head. I love my shrimp with the peel and head but I wasn't feeling well and wanted to make the meal easy to eat so I sacrificed a little in the flavor department for convenience. When I opened the bag I was surprised that the potato was huge. I've never had a huge russet potato used in preparation before. I thought I wasn't going to like it but it was actually pretty good. And it was equivalent to at least 3 or 4 potatoes that you usually get in these type of bags. The shrimp , corn , and potatoes were delicious in the super garlicky butter sauce. I dripped a little on my clothes that are ruined forever and I didn't even care because I was enjoying my meal. Oil never washes out so be careful. My husband ordered his shrimp with shell and head in with lemon pepper sauce and two corn and three potatoes. He had a lot of potato! Lol. His was good but not at all what we were expecting. We originally planned to share both styles but his was so spicy that I couldn't eat any of his. We were expecting lemon pepper like the spice we get at the super market or the rub we get on wings. What he got looked like shrimp in molten lava. It was pepper as in super spicy chili pepper sauce with lemon slices. It had a nice flavor but since I ordered it mild I couldn't understand how spicy it came. The shrimp also came peeled with out the heads. Luckily my husband is better with spice than I am. He was able to eat most of it but would have enjoyed it more if it had been milder and had the heads as he ordered it. I can still recommend this restaurant as the flavors are very good and if we had eaten in the restaurant instead of having it delivered then they probably would have remade my husbands meal the way he ordered it for him and I would have been able to give them five stars. Unfortunately as it is I took off a star for missing two order notes. They did a great job packing up for Togo food. They even give you gloves and bibs.

Walked in to a Bob Marley "Waiting in Vain" cover and already knew the atmosphere was gonna be solid. Didn't even realize they had Filipino dishes on the menu so we had to try the pork sisig. As a Filipino, I'd say it was good, just a little sweeter and heavier on the mayo than what I'm used to, but still enjoyable. We got Combo 1 with 1lb shrimp and 1/2lb crab legs in the signature Cajun medium sauce plus a side of the Cajun coconut sauce. The Cajun coconut was easily the winner for me, actually so good. Shrimp was a little overcooked and harder to peel, but overall still hit the spot. Added one of each add-on too. For starters, the chili BBQ seasoned fries instantly reminded me of Potato Corner, so now I know where to fix that craving late night. The ceviche was also surprisingly one of the better ones I've had, super flavorful and a solid portion for 2 people. Drinks were the lychee margarita and passion fruit margarita, both really good. Only downside was the drinks took a while and we had to remind our waitress since our food came out before they did. We found this spot on Yelp and chose it to celebrate my partner's birthday. The aesthetic is really…read morecool, and the food and drink menu looked fantastic. We were genuinely excited going in. That said, the experience didn't live up to expectations. Our bill came out to around $800, and unfortunately the service really took away from the night. Our server was kind, but clearly overwhelmed and unable to keep up with her tables. Drink orders were forgotten multiple times (at least 3-4), and we were never checked on--not even once after our food arrived, despite a couple of dishes missing the mark. Drinks regularly took 20+ minutes, and we ended up going to the bar ourselves a few times just to follow up. For a restaurant at this price point, you expect a much higher level of service. It's a beautiful place with a lot of potential, but the service issues made what should have been a special celebration pretty disappointing.
