We had just recently moved into our house and discovered a water leak coming from a faulty shower pan. The Walton's analyzed the problem and made recommendations for repair which included replacement of the shower sub-flooring which showed clear signs of water damage. They used shower tiles from the damaged tiles to make tile-design recommendations for upgrading the shower and adjoining tiled-walls. They were responsible for shower deconstruction, flooring repair, and for re-tiling. Everything that they did was done with the utmost care. Nothing was rushed and every tile that was placed was custom fit. They are extremely conscientious, honest and a pleasure to interact with. Their job estimate was more than competitive. Right now we had a very dark blue carpet- just about one year old. We thought long and hard before we made the plunge to replace the perfectly good carpet. The person came out to measure and it was the same person who sold us the carpet at Town Flooring. When the carpet came, the team of three arrived and moved the furniture (which we paid for beforehand). They did the install and oops! The measuremesurement had been done incorrectly. The carpet had to be left just "there" on our floor, not tacked down yet, the furniture in disarray. So another measurement had to be done, another order, then the guys (only two this time) had to come back-days later and fill the space with the extra carpet that was missed the first time. They were not happy to be back and the attitude of one of the installers showed his displeasure. That being said, this was not a good experience. The final install was not the way it should be. There were many spots that were unacceptable. I called and when we finally got someone to come out and look, there were excuses and how that wasn't so bad etc. They were willing to come out and fix it - yes. Would you want these folks out again at your house? I did not want the installers back or any installer from this company again. We settled on a financial agreement that was satisfactory to both parties. I am not recommending this company.

The price was fair and Erskin was able to answer some questions we had about the install. Dustin came out to do the install and did a great job. He was really nice, polite, easy to work with, and showed up on time every day for our 3 day project. He put down mats to protect our floors and countertops and also cleaned at the end of each day. We're really happy with the finished product and will definitely be calling Erkin's Tile for our next tile projects!

The "main number" I texted apparently is answer by Mike sometime and his office manager Stephanie other times. Problem is they dont communicate with each other very well, if at all. Based on convo, was talking to Mike for a couple of days. Needed, what i thought, was simple furniture assembly for an armoire purchased from Wayfair. He quoted me a rate of $125 per hour. Sent him the assembly video and confirmed it would require two people given the size of some of the pieces. Appointment day rolls around and only one worker is sent. Texted the main number and Stephanie replies. Rescheduled for another day and the worker comes back with his teenage son Now, according to the Wayfair website and reviews by other purchasers, one buyer and his 14 yo son managed to do the job in 4 hours. Wayfair estimates it takes a handy homeowner 6 hours to complete the job. took Mike's "professional" and his helper 8 hours to do the job. Was never told the rate went up to $175 for the 2nd person involved. so an $1100 purchase cost another $1400 to assemble using Mike 's guy and his teenager. Was never given an estimate of how long it would take based on the video provided. Was never told of the higher rate -- just "Furniture assembly is $125 per hour). Problem is, VA law requires a licensed contractor to provide a written estimate of the cost of the work undertaken and a timeframe for completion neither were provided, yet he is still insisting on full payment of $1400. No discount for wasting our afternoon when he failed to send 2 workers the first day, no discount for a teenage worker. No considerations for the fact no estimate was ever provided. If the VA board of contractors says I should pay $1400, Ill pay $1400. But not paying a penny till they weigh in on his practices.
