It's now June so I've had time to settle in with my carpet and wanted to provide a review of the experience. I read lots of reviews and research things to death before I make a decision so I don't give people a high rating just to be "nice". I also consider myself to be be a little hard to please because I'm used to doing a lot of work on my home myself and I have a high standard of quality while being thrifty. That being said, I shopped around a few quotes and came back to FlooringRVA. Long story short...I felt the price I paid for what I wanted was spot on. I had a good experience with the two man crew that came to install the carpet and padding. And 6 months later things are still meeting my expectations. Robert, the owner, was the real reason behind going with FlooringRVA a second time. He personally came to measure and offer suggestions. I preferred to text and Robert made himself available at all times throughout the day when I had questions. I didn't always expect an immediate response but one was always received. I could tell he and his staff were committed to my being satisfied throughout every step in the process and I couldn't find that level of customer focus with any other competitor. They said they would send a check to cover the cost of the painting (previously, the sent the painter out and had him bill their business). The check has yet to arrive and I question whether it will actually cover the cost of the paint job, should it ever actually come.

Because of Darren, we do it every day! Darren refinished a ~30 year old hardwood floor that had yellowed, shown wear from traffic, had missing pieces of wood, and damage from chemical spills. From the very first time I reached out, his communication was excellent. He visited our home to see the floor, take measurements, and recommend and explain a refinishing process. Darren gave us options for type of polyurethane, colors, finish (matte vs. gloss) while offering recommendations from his many decades of experience. Within several hours we had a very fair quote and were booked several weeks out. Darren spent a few days on property and was incredibly respectful of our home and us when we would ask a question or two. He worked his magic to sand and protect our floor to a condition we would have never expected - just see for yourself. We checked out several rolls of carpet, ranging from thin piled to plush piled and ended up choosing a taupe, medium thick carpet with the padding. The staff was incredibly helpful, patient and knowledgeable. They install quickly and professionally. The price was in our range and they even work with you if you need financing. We had such a good experience on our initial visit, that when my mom wanted to do the floors in her sunroom, we went back to Jeter's! They had a fabulous selection of indoor/outdoor rugs and we purchased one that lasted for years! Repeat business? You bet!! When I needed a carpet remnant for our spare room, we went back to Jeter's! I even found a cute cheetah print area rug that I bought on a whim! Love it! It's obvious why their customers keep coming back again and again! I filed for some flooring work done through my insurance, and they recommended Costen floors as one…read moreof their established partners. I was contacted by someone at Costen floors who worked directly w my insurance company (Carlos? Sorry if I don't recall his name). Anyways, he was extremely professional and easy to work with. We picked the flooring sample and scheduled a day for installation. Then came the actual day of the installation. I was told by Costen that the workers could move larger items (couches, tables, etc) out of the room for me and I would only need to remove the smaller items. The workers came earlier and were disgruntle about having to move stuff like what was promised. They were really rude and disrespectful to me, the female home owner, and told me to "stop getting in the way and let us do our work." I explained I just wanted to know their estimated timeline (things like if they planned on starting on one side of the room, whether they're gonna wait for some caulking to dry first, etc) but was told to my face "we don't need to explain every step to you." WOW. It's not like I'm asking for a step by step introduction to carpentry. I just wanted them to update me on their work. I'm paying these people for products and services, not to disrespect me in my own home. Frustrated, I sent my 60 year old father over to talk to them, and they were perfectly polite to him. Eventually the work got done. The floor looked fine but I was not impressed at all by the workers' attitudes, like they were hourly and just wanted to wrap and gtfo. The floors/product was good but the service, not so much. Even though my floor looks fine, I would not work with them again.

And apparently, their prices change by store ... I was trying to buy the Platinum Harvest Waterproof Rigid Core Luxury Vinyl Plank online and it showed the price to be $1.29/SF and when I selected this store as the Pick-up, it changed the price to be $1.59/SF. That's an almost 25% price hike and when you are buying 2000SF that adds up to be a substantial amount. And it's not that the product is on a special sale or clearance. BUYER BEWARE
