That cleaning in August 2025 was satisfactory, not outstanding but it's an old rental and was "good enough." This move out cleaning on August 2026 was neglectful and incomplete. Cobwebs and dust in windows and upper bathroom shelves, kitchen sink and tub (both porcelain) not whitened, stove top not only left sticky, but a degreaser was used that stripped paint from the control panel (where the gas control handles are mounted). I texted Defne who beyond replying to my question about what cleaning product was used, made no offer to make things right. I provided pictures of the damage. Her response - Defne: "I checked with the team, and they used a degreaser to properly remove the grease." No response to the pictures of damage, no offer of a compromise, or some small gesture such as a partial refund in good faith. And no apology. My rental deposit was dinged $75 by the owner to recoup their charges to complete the cleaning. They truly could have charged much more, but took mercy on me. The new tenants stayed in a motel the first night because the cobwebs and dust needed to be cleaned before moving in their possessions. Here's where I went wrong: I didn't check things over thoroughly due to exhaustion on moving day, the same day they cleaned. That was my responsibility and I was too tired to see that clearly. I paid $245 plus a $50 cash tip times two cleaners -- total $345 + $75 that the apartment owner deducted from my deposit. If the company makes good and refunds $75, I will repost and let you other consumers know. We're all human. We have some bad days and make mistakes. There is an opportunity to make this right. I'm sad to write a poor review and wish things had gone better. Will add photos when I figure out how to do that. I love, love, love my cleaning crew that comes every 2 weeks (NOT nooks and crannies). They've been with me for years and I'm so thankful for them. But, unfortunately, it snowed and snowed last week and they couldn't make it and then they got the flu. In desperation, I called Nooks and Crannies to just maintain the house. I did a last minute booking and got 20% off. I had used them before, and they were okay, they were not to the level of my current cleaning crew, but I figured anything was better than nothing. They booked me from 4:45 pm - 7 pm. They showed up at 4:55 pm and they danced around my driveway and chatted. I don't care.... please, play, and joke. They didn't come into my house until after 5 pm. I had made sure to make all the beds, do all the dishes, clean all the counters, clear all the floors, etc. They arrived and I took the family out to dinner so we were out of their way. We came home around 6:40 pm and they were walking out the door (so they cleaned from 5ish to 6:40 out the door). They didn't dust or vacuum the bedrooms. (They were booked until 7 pm) they also didn't vacuum the carpet in the foyer. I went upstairs and did most of the dusting and vacuuming in the bedrooms in 30 minutes BY MYSELF. If the team had wanted to finish they could have. It's cool. I'm sure they were tired. HOWEVER, when I get a bill for 2 hours I get a little annoyed. It's $140 an hour. I am happy to pay and to tip on service rendered but when you didn't work the full 2 hours .... no, just no. Additionally, my husband shared with me that he overheard them arguing about the number of hours they were getting paid for in my foyer. (I guess that's what they were doing vs vacuuming the foyer rug). I emailed them manager back and inquire about why I was billed for 2 hours when they didn't work 2 hours. She responded that her crew worked "really hard" because my house was "quite dirty" IF my house was "quite dirty" why would they leave 20 minutes early?! Look. I will admit when my house is "quite dirty" but I had busted my butt this week to ensure it wasn't dirty. In fact, neighbors had come in and commented "wow your house is really clean." Is this how Nooks and Crannies keeps their clients? If you're in Cville just avoid this cleaning service..... super grumpy about this tonight and thankful for my regular cleaning crew. If you have pets, kids, you know, show any wear and tear and actually LIVE in your house prepare to be judged by this cleaning service. I don't know about you, but I work hard both professionally and domestically, and I don't need this negativity in my life. And I had the honor of paying a pretty penny for it, too.

If you leave dishes in the sink, they wash them...my bathroom has never been cleaner and there's no dust. I have two cats and a dog, and with a request (and small fee) they wash the walls too...I have never been happier with their service. They are also amazingly responsive on email and the phone. And customer service is important to them. Best decision I ever made.

The visits get briefer and briefer from week to week. The crew seems to be focused mainly on getting to the next job. The quality of their cleaning is quite superficial compared to other services I've experienced. For regular weekly or bi-weekly cleaning, I would look elsewhere. You can almost certainly get a better job done for less.
