They told us is gets busy on the weekends so expect to wait up to an hour! The have lots to choose from on the menu. From pancakes, waffles, and lots of omelettes! First time. My son and his wife found this because I asked for a place with omelets. They not only had more choices than anywhere i had been to, but it was a 1950 diner with all of the vibe. Wow. Incredible. I didn't have the omelet, as they had my ultimate breakfast which was eggs Benedict with corned beef hash!!@!!. This place sucks overpriced poor seating and was even more poor attempt at being child friendly was told to close my carrige up so people could by wich is understandable considering its so tight and small there so they gave me a highchair wich i had to cram in corner it barley fit and made the entire breakfast cramped and uncomfortable I ordered the pancakes w/ a cofee and my wife ordered kalbasa and eggs .... lets jus say those pancakes were the worst pancakes ive ever eaten they legit tasted like cardboard very thick no flavor and horrible.... My family's been coming here for years! My favorite breakfast place. It's a tight fit, but seat yourself, explore a little and you'll find a spot! If you have a large party, let someone know, they'll accommodate. The food is delicious, I don't branch out much, but a big waffle with whip cream and strawberries is my go to. The atmosphere is great, that old school diner feel. Parking can be a pain, they have a large lot, but it's often full. I've been coming here for 25 years, I'm used to it. A tip, there is on street parking along all the side streets near by. My only complaint is as far as I know, they don't have booze, so no morning mimosas. An yes, you need to bring cash for the tip, BUT can pay with a card. Another plus is the staff is great. Last summer, one of the waitresses clearly had to bring her young son to work. He was at the corner table coloring while his mom was going back/ forth between him and waiting tables. All the other waitresses were being great, pitching in to keep him entertained for her, bringing him pancakes and juice. I have a 4 year old, & I'm a working mom, so I know the struggle. Oh, the Owl... Food generally so good, management so bad... My wife and I have been eating here for years. She gets the pancakes, I get the corned beef hash, and my kids like, well, everything. Prices are good/ what you expect. Tastes are generally delicious. For years, we've been suffering through their cash only policy, despite the fact that a 'cash only' policy is about as old as their original dining car. We don't typically carry cash and we have made the walk of shame down the street to the nearest ATM more than once. Today, a new announcement in their outdoor marquee: WE NOW ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS! Yay!! Welcome to the mid-20'th century, 50 years late... But sure we'll go in and have a nice breakfast. Again, we tend to not carry cash. The wife has pancakes, I have the hash... Nice breakfast, home fries are always good. We finish up and the Kids are getting antsy, let's scram. I get to the register, and despite the glorious pronouncement on the outdoor marquee, we're greeted with this sign at the register (see pic below). Can't tip on credit?? Are you kidding me? Again, who carries cash?? And I don't want to not leave a tip, so I'm still forced to walk to the bank-- in an establishment that NOW TAKES CREDIT CARDS!! So, (1) these guys haven't really increased their clients' convenience to eat at the restaurant, and (2) they're apparently too cheap to pay the $0.03 charge per dollar to allow the patrons to tip on their cards. If making those signs cost $10.00, then that would have been the equivalent of about $330 worth of tips. Stupid, shortsighted and CHEAP. -- and puts your waitstaff at risk to lose their tips. Terrible experience. Service was terrible. Had to walk up to the counter to ask someone to wait on us since we were seated at the table for 15 minutes. Didn't get drink refill we asked for and had to walk to the counter again to ask for our check cause no one ever came back to help us. Food was good. 80% of the tables and counter were empty but they made new visitors get in a waitlist so the kitchen staff could catch up. Never heard of such a thing. I had omelet of ham onion cheese, my son had Belgian waffle with side of bacon and my wife had the raisin French toast. Everything was cooked well, flavorful, service was good coffee refilled. There is parking which was a big plus. Came to little over 15 per person with tip. Only compliant was check could have been brought to table a little quicker. Feel like everyone here hates their job and they aren't too nice. The food is terrible now which is sad because growing up this used to be my fav breakfast spot but no way would I ever go back. My eggs in my omelette where absolutely awful and the spinach inside (I got the market street omelette) was so watery and distasteful almost as if it was frozen spinach. The Owl diner rocks! The retro vibe is alive and well here. The vintage juke box, vintage tile, and old fashioned curtains really set the mood. The waitress was perfect. I have only been once so far, but the food was much better than average and that's a good thing. I ordered the ham and eggs for $7.50. The ham steak was exceptionally good. The flavor was very good and you could cut it with a fork. Really good homemade baked beans. The coffee is better than "just good". I highly reccomend this place to anyone jonesin' for a vintage diner. Definitely worth an hours ride.. I'm giving it 4 stars for now. When I lived in Lowell I regularly came here for breakfast and sometimes an early lunch, dinners served here also but it does close at 2pm. The Owl Diner (four sisters diner) is the kind of place that makes you feel right at home. The waitresses would get to know you by name making it quite the friendly diner. Food prices are not expensive at all, fair priced I would say. Fast service and good size portions. The Owl is a diner/bus? car with the kitchen and seating as you walk in. There is an attached building to fit more customers and It definitely gets busy here. Lots of regulars, it is the kind of place you skip eating at home for in the mornings. I would recommend everything on the menu, there is not one item that is a below average dish. If I ever go back to the area I would definitely eat here. my mother and I came in on a saturday morning. We walked in and had to ask if we could seat ourselves because no one approached us. I should've realized that was a bad sign from the start. My waitress, whose name was donna, I believe. was miserable. We were super polite and didn't ask for anything extra or out of the ordinary, but yet she still wouldn't smile and she acted like I killed her family or something. I did not get a refill of my water and was never even asked. The food tasted pretty good, except for the sausages. Their flavor was a little off to me. We never got the check but wanted to pay. So we lined up at their cash register, which was crowded by two waitresses who wanted their checks processed. The old man who was working the register was a jerk and said very few words. Also didn't know how to smile. We just stood there expecting to get service, but the waitresses came first I guess. By this time, I was so enraged that I had to control myself and just get out of there. Our waitress walks by and goes, "oh, i'm sorry". and hands me the handwritten ticket to give to the old man I supposed. We paid and though I wanted to give her zero tip, I cracked and gave her 20%. super crowded. where we stood in line to pay was the same area where the entrance door was where ppl were walking and not getting greeted so it created a cluster of ppl just in the way. was very loud and we had to practically shout to hear each other. parking is bad too. we will never return here.they all need a lesson in customer service.
