Is this a five-star restaurant? Not really. Is breakfast at Arthur's a five-star experience? Sure is. I love places like this, where they're true to their roots. I had the signature breakfast sandwich, and it was exceptional! I got the two-meat version, and honestly, it was just incredible. It was a bit crowded when we got there, right at the end of a weekend breakfast rush, but the service was great and the food was amazing. Had a nice chat with the fellow behind the counter when things settled down. We moved to the neighborhood recently, and we'll be back often. read more

Little diner that locals love! I got the Boot Mill Sandwich with ham. The potatoes weren't browned like they were usually. Other than that, it's what you expect ham, cheese, egg, potato on a roll. read more

Don't know if my review would be useful because I'm pretty sure everyone in the city of Lowell had to have a Boot Mill Sandwich from here at least once. Well for those that haven't, Arthur's been around for quite some time now. Besides being famously known for their Boot Mill Sandwich, it's a nostalgic spot to a lot of the Millennials that attended Lowell High School back then. I can never pass by here and not think about how I use to skip school with friends, chip in money to grab a sandwich before hopping on the city bus to the Burlington Mall. Thank you Arthur's for the memories. read more

I had a single boott mill with sausage. Incredible. Love the setting and the people were incredible. Would go back for sure.

Ole reliable. Arthur's is a staple to Lowell and the Merrimack Valley. What would lowell be without A boot mill ! Thank you for maintaining this restaurant and keeping the history alive through the generations we really appreciate you guys continuing to cook up delicious poop Mill sandwiches every morning read more

Arthur's has been around for as long as I started freshman year in high school which was back in year 2000. He was famous for his boothmill sandwiches and I remembered I used to skip first mod in high school just to come and have his breakfast sandwich. It's like everything on a breakfast plate in a sandwich . Very unique and so delicious. But after his wife passed, arthurs had sold the diner and the sandwiches hasn't been the same since . Still taste good but not as good as when Arthur's wife Dot was around. I still stopped in every now and then when I'm in town and have the crave for it . Still looks the same and nothing has change since I been coming here for about 17 years. I would suggest you stop in if you're in town and wanted some good breakfast . I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

Arthur's Paradise Diner - What made me skip first mod freshman year in high school (double meat boothmill sandwich) - Diners Near Me - Lowell, Massachusetts

Okay, first off this is a DINER, and not really a sit down restaurant per se. They have booths and stools and yes, you can eat there, but it's not about ambience AT ALL so if you're looking for that definitely go elsewhere. And if you're going to be upset if the counter help calls you "boss" or "chief" you might want to skip this place as well..... Growing up in Lowell, I've been going here since 1988 or thereabouts. This is the second owner from what I know, the original Arthur having retired in 2001. To be honest, the signature Boott Mill breakfast sandwich hasn't really changed much, still the same breakfast goodness on a Kaiser roll it's always been. Comes with home fries, egg and cheese with your choice of meat all piled onto a pretty substantial roll that is up to the task. Never had one fall apart on me. It's so good that I hardly ever get anything else there even though they have a whole breakfast menu. If you're a serious carnivore like me be sure to ask for triple meat (ham, bacon and sausage). If you opt for a single meat sandwich, they have sausage links, bacon and ham as the options. I've got a hollow leg and one sandwich usually fills me up. As for the cash only thing, doesn't bother me. This is a small business, they're just doing what they can to try to save a buck here and there. I've worked retail before, and can tell you that credit card fees from those service providers can be pretty steep. I'd rather they didn't take the cards than be like some places that charge customers an extra percentage if they use a card. So if you're looking for a breakfast sandwich to start your day off right with, this is my go to place. Call ahead to order and the sandwich will probably be ready by the time you get there. read more

I enjoyed the food. Thick pancakes, plenty of bacon, friendly staff. Just a good ol fashioned diner. No frills just good.

Like eating off of paper plates? You better. Like being cramped in like sardines with a loud atmosphere to boot before your morning coffee? If not, then this really isn't a place for you. If you want a solid, hearty breakfast cooked up by a bunch of really friendly guys behind the counter.....then head on over to downtown Lowell. Yelp brought me here but it was tough to find parking at first. I didn't want to risk parking at the condos across the street for fear I could get ticketed or even worse, towed. So I went around the block at least twice attempting to find a place. Thankfully, someone who had just dined at Arthur's was leaving right outside of the diner itself and I patiently waited for them to leave so I could pull in. I didn't like the idea of having no menu and felt a little intimidated given how busy it was. I stood there like a dope for a minute or so studying the menu above the grill before finally waddling my way down to the end of the counter and find the last remaining seat in the cramped diner car. One All-American for $7.00, please. A ham steak including the bone, two eggs over easy, potatoes and two slices of toast. The potatoes could have used I don't know, more paprika or garlic.....they were very run of the mill and bland. The ham steak was the standout here and I did love that it was a bone in and not some inferior slab cut off some supermarket, underwhelming piece of pig. The toast was just that, toasted. And the eggs ran amok throughout the paper plate so I was able to dip just about anything I wanted to in pool of yellowness. The gentleman on the griddle asked me if everything was ok and another younger guy made sure my coffee was full and that I got the cream/sugar/ketchup I asked for. Parking sucked, it was crowded, loud and they started turning away customers at 11:45 so I'm glad i got here when I did. It's super no frills and a throwback to dining in a tiny car elbow to elbow with a vast swath of people from around Lowell. But I'll tell you one thing, you won't leave here hungry and will likely have a smile on your face. read more

Great greasy hole in the wall breakfast joint that is cash only. Made famous for their breakfast sandwich called the Bootmill. Fried egg, hash browns, cheese, choice of up to three meats.( single, double, triple) bacon ham or sausage or all of one type. Basically a heart attack in a Bulkie roll. Oh the pleasures of life. I used to drive 20 min here out of town before school in the am just to get a Bootmill and if I would run late to home room then I would have to buy my teacher one as well ;) Very much recommended for breakfast and for lunch head to Esspresso pizza, right down the road for the best pizza around. read more

Arthur's Paradise Diner - Single meat, bacon Bootmill sandwich. - Diners Near Me - Lowell, Massachusetts

Arthur's Paradise is part of what makes Lowell the great city that it is. Walk in the door and you'll be greeted with a friendly smile, and that greasy spoon diner smell in the air. The Boott Mill Sandwich is the staple dish - egg, cheese, hash browns, and choice of meat on a bulky roll. There are plenty of other places in the city that have tried to copy it, but Arthur's is the original. The atmosphere is no frills, the place is housed in an old diner car. There are about a half dozen booths, and maybe 10 stools at the counter. While you dine there's a good chance WCAP (local radio station) will be playing in the background. Aurthur's is mainly a breakfast place, but they do have a couple lunch items like hot dogs and burgers on the menu. read more

Granted, I haven't had anything except the double meat Boott Mill Sandwich, but it is worth the $5 offering for a genuine stick to your ribs breakfast meal. I also enjoy the fact that it is an authentic Worcester Diner car#727, circa 1937. When I went the clientele was a combination of Lowell High students, construction workers, and local suits. The takeout business (myself included) was incredibly brisk. Who could resist having egg, sausage, cheese, and homefries in a roll...although a sandwich, it is still difficult to consume while driving. But this is a business primarily built around one breakfast sandwich, and does it well. Pictures attached. Highly recommended. read more

This place is legit. It is bigger on the inside than you would expect. Really friendly staff that guided us to our seats quickly. The food is made right in front of you and it's fun to watch them make it. Other than the amazing food and attentive staff, the whole place is a nostalgia trip with old sports memorabilia, signage, and decorations supporting our country. It's a real blast from the past which is so refreshing. Very reasonably priced too! read more

Ordered like a boss: "Two triple boot mills with an apple juice and water on the side please." Answered like a boss: "Cash only please" Food: A boot mill is a sandwich that's actually built from a normal breakfast. It contains homefries, meats, and egg in between two buttered buns. A TRIPLE bootmill is the size of a small puppy, and tastes delicious. There are many establishments in the area that sell similar sandwiches by different names, but this one is by far the best. The sausage tastes premium and the home fries don't feel pre-cooked. Atmosphere: It's about the size of a trolley-car, which isn't very big. It looks like a max of 15 people can be in here without awkward touching. There's only ambient noise from talking and maybe a radio. Staff: The cook, and the waitress...because any more people would be a traffic jam. They're casual enough, and are very prompt about service. Can't see it getting too difficult in here since it's not as big as other diners in the area. Final Thoughts: I would definitely come here again if I wanted a boot mill, parking's a little tough but you can park in the adjacent garage. read more

Absolutely phenomenal breakfast sandwich. I would go out of my way for this one. Really nice staff.

This is a must visit breakfast place! This is the real deal when it comes to diner car dining. This is the kind of place you recommend to someone looking for that no frills, gritty, greasy spoon experience. I came here just to try the legendary Boot Mill Sandwich and I wasn't disappointed. This place took me back to the simple time of the working man. You know, the mill-workers that busted their humps for hours on end, going home covered in soot and sweat. The kind of work I remember my dad doing. Apparently, that's where The Boot Mill sandwich gets its name from. The Mill Workers that used to come here for a quick and filling breakfast. The sandwich apparently dates back at least 30 years. The staff here are personable and the guy on the grill seems to do just fine pumping out 6 or 7 Boot Mill sandwiches at a time. There's no parking and no bathroom and the menu pretty much stays the same. Just for kicks Google "Boot mill Sandwich" and see what you get. It appears on to-do lists and attractions to see in Lowell. read more

Must try the Boot Mill if you visit Lowell. But it does not taste the same as it used to back in High School during 97/98

A hole in the wall? No no no a gem in the heart of Lowell! They are open now on Sunday's! If you love supporting local business's and want a great experience this place is a must. I love everything about it, the ambiance and the service is great. They stay true to who they are. The portions are great! They preserved the history in this place. The food is also very delicious, and you can't go to arthur's without trying their famous boot mill! It really hits the spot but not the wallet! The prices can't be beat! It is cash only , so I would recommend going to the atm before and there is free one hour parking next to it! Definitely a gem. read more

This place looks like a dive when you first walk in and I probably would have walked out again if I hadn't called before we arrived. The gentleman that I spoke to was friendly and kind on the phone so I figured we'd give it a chance. The place is old. And could use a face lift. It is not very big inside so we ended up taking over two booths. Thankfully it wasn't too busy. Our server was great. He was fast, friendly and efficient. He was nice to my kids and joked around with my father-in-law. Our food came fast which is necessary with little kids. While I HATED that they used paper plates, the food on the plates was great. I was pleased with this place. I would come back for sure. read more

I've been inside only once, and it is always busy regardless if you dine inside or order to go. Their boot mill sandwich is the most popular item on the menu but you can also customize it. Way better than your DD breakfast sandwich. You won't be disappointed! read more

This place is awesome!! Best breakfast in town. Ross and Chris are amazing. Keep up the good work boys

This place is great. I love that it is a real old school diner. My only complaint is the hours. Closing by noon on the Weekends makes no sense. Working people sleep in on the weekends and start thinking about breakfast around 10:30 or so. I bet if they stayed open until 1:30 they would make a killing. I tried to come here this Sunday morning at 11:30 and it was closed without explanation so I went to Cameo diner instead. read more

Great place for the bootmill sandwitch egg homefries sausage cheese bulkie roll i like two eggs double bacon then your good for the day

This place is closed on Sundays and that makes it difficult for me to get here,as I work 6 days a week. I LOVE diners, and where there is a will, there is a way.Let's just say that I was conveniently "sick" on Saturday, and leave it at that. The weather looked good so,I was off on my Harley to pay a visit. The diner has been at this same location for 84 yrs. and it does show its age. A little paint would do wonders for the place. The inside was more of the same and kinda dirty too.I think that the janitor punched out 83 yrs. ago and hasn't returned. But ,this could be a 5 star venue in some parts of the planet ,I'm sure. Paul is the man here.He does it all and has been for 11 yrs. now.Super personality and friendly,we had a great conversation about everything. The menu board is small and the choices are somewhat limited.I did spot an interesting choice though,The Pawtucketville". It's a breakfast sandwich of sort, only a little different.Eggs, hash and cheese and bacon, folded up and served on wheat (my choice).Presented on a paper plate, it was really very good. the coffee was a little weak for my liking but that's okay. All in all I liked the experience here but can only give it 3 stars because of the lack of basic cleanliness. read more

Sometimes keeping it simple just works. The boot mill sandwich is nothing fancy, but it something special. And, Arthur's isn't just boot mill sandwhiches. There omelettes and pancakes are awesome too. The best value in town for breakfast. read more

Went there once and absolutely hated it. The atmosphere is super creepy and the staff is not particularly friendly. I ordered the French toast and tasted nothing but butter--I'm not sure that there was even any cinnamon on it at all. Although my girlfriend said her omelet was "sort of okay", neither of us would be willing to go back. The place was laughable--serving our food on paper plates and wrapping our silverware in paper towels. The booths are uncomfortable and the lighting is dingy. read more
