My friend and I have been testing out new nail salons that we haven't been to before to try and find our new "go to" spot. We went on a Sunday afternoon so we called ahead to see if they had availability. They did, and we were sat right away for pedicures. The salon was nice, pretty small. The staff was friendly and welcoming as we walked in. I was pregnant at the time and everyone was asking how I felt and questions about the baby and told me "good luck" on my way out. The pedicure itself wasn't great for either of us. We both opted for the 2nd level pedicure because it included a 15 min deep tissue massage and being 9 months pregnant I couldn't pass that up for my swollen feet. However, the massage was not deep tissue by any means. It was a regular mediocre massage and extremely quick, definitely not worth the extra money I paid. My nails also grow very quickly so I like them to be cut pretty low. Unfortunately, that was not the case here and I actually had a nail chip the next day. I was so upset and couldn't even go in as I was heading to the hospital to get induced. I'd go back to this place in the future but I'll stick to the basic pedicure from now on. read more

I walked in and told the nail tech that I wanna change my nails because I feel like they are too long for my job and I'll just switch the color while I'm here. She goes. Oh they look like they didn't even grow out but I guess if you have the money you can do it. very judgmental attitude about me spending the money on my nails. she cut me 3 times while using the drill. she offered me a coke then never gave it to me lol. she didn't fill in my nail at all where it did grow out so it looks weird. It also didn't seem very sanitary, all her items looked reused with old dust on them. read more

I really hate to give bad reviews but this was the worse experience by far.. the technician was very sweet, they started me with one technician but then had to stop and pass me over to somebody else. I am full of gel all over my fingers. I have two cuts underneath my fingernails that are literally burning. She kept the drill on full blast. My nails are completely a mess. I have been going to Oviedo Nails Spa now for about 1 year. I had to switch nail technicians because my tech became pregnant and decided to stop working. However, I found Mi! Mi gives a phenomenal pedicure! She is thorough, and does not rush! My pedicures last for 3 weeks without chipping! The shop is always tidy, tools and spa tubs are clean. Highly recommend Mi and Oviedo Nails Spa! Update 2/8/2019: Mi is no longer with Oviedo Nails Spa. They said she was pregnant as well...coincidence? I think not! It seems that any nail technician here that is good they let go because then the other techs have nothing to do. Kim the owner controls the appointment book and is not very friendly. I promise if I could give zero stars I would. My nails are so thick and inconsistent. I literally left without polish or anything I almost asked her to soak them off. I'm not upset that she didn't k ow how to do almond shape, I just would have respected and appreciated it more if she let me know up front so I could go somewhere else. She was upset and asked why I didn't want anything on them and I told her that I would have to go and get them fixed. I went from having pink and whites for years and then decided to give my nails a break. I decided to start pampering myself more by treating myself to nails/pedicures again. In doing so I tried going to places closest to my house and have never found a place or nail technician that I was fond of or happy with. I'm a hairstylist so I've always had a problem with my nails lifting from being in water and chemicals all the time. I picked this place because it was highly rated on Yelp so I used that to base my decision. However, it wasn't the best nail place I have been to. In fact, I didn't have the best experience due to a couple reasons. I guess part of the reason was I was pregnant and uncomfortable .... but I won't base my decision on that. I will base it on the fact that I got a pedicure and ended up bleeding TWICE when getting my toenails done. I NEVER bleed during pedicures. Once in awhile I will get slightly nicked in a manicure (which is why I don't get them anymore...) but the lady (who I can't remember her name but she was older...) cut me TWICE. I screamed for one of them. And so there you go. I will not be returning :( read more

I went for a gel polish on my toes and dip powder on my nails. The gel polish was fine but I had the worst experience of my entire life for the dip powder. I normally do not write reviews but I was so upset because I spent so much money and this is not what I anticipated for. I came with a dip powder already on my nails so as he was taking it off he kept cutting my cuticles with the drilling machine, I jumped every time he did it so he knew he was hurting me but proceeded. He made the mistake of cutting me with the drill on almost every finger. When he started to file my nails, I asked if he could make them a bit shorter and he cut my entire length off without showing me. In the photos you can see how bad my cuticles are inflamed, my pointing finger is so tender & red i can barely touch it. I have never had almost every cuticle finger aching from a set. Maybe I've gotten nipped once at another place but not continuously. He also filed them in so much for an almond shape that they are all shaped so lopsided. I had to pay the full price of my nails and I left a tip only to be so disappointed with my set. Never trying new places again. read more

I gave this spa a try for a pedicure. Complete disappointment! A man did mine which I have no problem with. But he was talking to the tech beside him throughout the entire visit. He would actually stop working on me for several minutes to talk to her! Then I had some soreness on my big toe. It seemed like he was done and I pointed out where the soreness was. He ignored it completely. I'm not sure if he understood English but if he did, it was very unprofessional! I'll never go back. read more

Worst place ever!!!!! I kept telling the nail tech to watch my skin while she was drill filling my nails and she repeatedly cut me! I kept telling her it hurt to stay away from my skin and she ignored me.On top of that I asked her to do a coffin shaped nail and she said she knew how to instead, gave me a square shaped nail. While I asked her to fix them she said "oh you like them thinner ?" And I said " no, thats not even a coffin shape at all. Very Poor service and nails techs don't know shit. Horrible. I been to this nail salon three times and the third time will be my last. The older lady with Peter pan hair style did my nails and she used to work at the Sanford mall nail salon. Long story short, she accidentally used alchohol to remove my dip powder nail, which was previously done at the same place. When she realized what she did and time was running out because other customers are waiting to be services. She quickly took a small bowl and fill it with acetone and told me to soak my fingers in acetone for 4 minutes. Now it's been a little over a week, and the skin on the tip of my fingers are pilling. Oviedo Nail Spa is my home away from home. I've been getting my nails and toes done professionally since I was in HS. Sanitary too! They use sterilized tools and spa tub liners for your pedi. Lots & lots of choices. The powder dip gel is very light & thin leaving a n extremely natural look to your nails. Not thick. I like my nails to look and feel like mine. If I break one (rare), ONS makes the tip repair appear as natural and thin as my other own nails. The dip powder gel last longer too - 3 weeks normally. Deceptive coupons. My husband received a coupon that said "we're offering you $5 off service $40 up or $10 off service $70 up." He asked when we arrived if we could use this coupon if he, myself, and daughter each got pedicures and the woman at the desk said yes. We received the service and when we went to pay, she stated that we could not use the coupon because our services INDIVIDUALLY did not cost $40 or $70 despite our overall total being above $70. Mind you- only one service in the entire salon is $70 (paraffin wax). Not only was the coupon deceptive, but she also led us to believe we could use the coupon but after the service did not allow us to. Will not return. read more

I've been traveling to Sanford from Winter Springs to get my nails done and decided to try Oviedo Nails. It's been about 5 months now and the service/quality is not what I had hoped. Firstly, although I don't expect them to know my name, each time I walk in it's like they are seeing me for the first time. I am greeted with"can I help you?" . I am assigned to whoever is available. I have never had Kim do my nails because when I call to make an appointment and ask who will do my nails, I'm told it's too soon for them to tell me. In my experience it is hit or miss regarding the others. I've left with thick clumpy nails, bubbles in my nails due to fuzz in the gel polish, and polish on the skin around my nails. I've been coming to oviedo nails for several years.  After seven months of not being able to get a pedicure (injury), I was really looking forward to an enjoyable pre-vacation pedicure.  Today's visit was far from it.  The tech seemed more interested in getting it over with as quickly as possible.  I wasn't offered any pedicure other than the basic, although i always upgrade to include the scrub.  I got French polish.  Unfortunately, since my big toe wasn't properly shaped, it looks lopsided.  She tried to fix it by adjusting the polish :/ The language barrier made this impossible to explain.  My visit was obviously a chore for the tech which made it a chore for me.  I don't think I'll be back. read more

I got there around 4 with my little sister because I promised to get her nails done. We walked in and the lady just stares at us for a moment before greeting us with a "can I help you". I told her we were there for manicures and she told us to have a seat. Around 4:15 one of their regulars came in and they told her she would have to wait because she didn't make an appointment. Another one of the nail techs came by and took her at 4:30. My sister and I were still waiting, and were surprised at the fact that they ignored us and chose not one, but two other people before us without appointments. The lady reassured us that "oh one of the other girls are almost done and she will get right to you". Nobody came by until 5. A lady came by, looked down at our feet and goes "pedicures?". I told her "No, manicures for my sister and I". She proceeds to guide my sister to go get a pedicure even though I just said we aren't getting pedicures. I told her again and she turned the tub off and took my sister to go get her nails done. I waited about another half hour before getting sat. The total wait was about an hour and thirty minutes even though the place had less than 10 people in it, and one of the nail techs was eating in the back. While getting my nails done, I asked her about fairly simple designs since they claimed they could do nail art. I asked for a basic rose and she claimed she couldn't do that and nobody else in the store could. So I asked what could be done then. Turns out, they don't do any nail art, they stamp your nails. They have designs already picked out and they quite literally stamp your nails. They messed up 3 times and had to restart my nail all over again each time. I didn't get to leave until 6:30 and the total bill ended up being around $40. I gave cash tips, yet for some reason I see in my bank statements that there's a $50 charge. They took extra money off my card and claimed that it was the "register". So you somehow entered in the wrong number, didn't check before hitting enter, hit enter and didn't check again, and when your copy of the receipt printed out, you didn't check AGAIN? Really doubtful. They did an alright job on my nails with them being the right size and shape and color, although the designs are halfway-stamped on, but the service here was pretty terrible and I doubt I will be returning. read more

I left my nail salon of several years because I was tired of bleeding fingers, itchy cuticles- and just plain neglectful service. I did my research of nail salons in my area for pink and white nails and immediately got an appointment with Kim. She took one look at my nails and said the product that was being used was cheap and causing yellowing of my nails, etc., and that she used a better product. She was right. Four days later my nails are still perfect. No bleeding, yellowing, or itchy cuticles. My pedicure was done by Jason and for once I left with soft heels and not scratchy feet. He actually cut my toenails and cleaned under the nails- which never got done. While my old salon was a bit more upscale- the service in this salon wins hands down. The 2 stars is for the owner that I got the displeasure of sitting next to during the last half of my pedicure. He is extremely rude, cusses a lot, loud and disrespectful to his hard working staff.
