Galley-like set up as you walk in. Breakfast diner vibes more than 'cafe and bakery'. Kitchen to your left as you walk down short corridor into cafe. Sloth-like chill attitude encouraged; the hashtag is #letshangtogether. Had fun looking at all the little sloth decor throughout. Lots of light and glass. VERY limited seating; seats about 15 (?) inside; mostly 2 tops and a 6 top. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly, permitted to sit where ever we would like, then handed menus. Turkish music playing was just a bit too loud. Hospitality. Friendly and helpful. Owner-chef seemed very happy to be there, singing and engaging with his regulars. Offerings. Basic breakfast and lunch items with Turkish and Mediterranean classics. No flavored lattes but other basic espresso drinks offered. Chai was excellent. Had the Turkish coffee because it was a Turkish joint; was REALLY good; strong. We had the Simit Platter; sesame-like NY bagel, feta chunks, and olives. All very good. See pics. Apparently they offer cooking classes, catering, and meal prep pick-up -- for ever-changing healthier, fresh, easy-prep take-out options. Of Note and Last Impressions. Lot parking. Overall, fun.

It was tasty and even better with the bread they provided. It could've been packaged in a better way because the oil dripped out everywhere by the time we got it home. Maybe a plastic container with a tight fitting lid. The mezze platter was also quite nice, especially the carrot appetizer. The bulgur patties were also flavorful. The artichoke was slightly disappointing because it didn't have any other flavor than salt and vinegar, similar to canned/bottled artichokes. The salad was fresh and the dressing was light. Overall, this was a light and tasty lunch.

We loved everything about this place! It's a Sunday afternoon and we're still visiting our youngest…read moredaughter and her husband here in Flint. They've been taking us to all sorts of places that fit our style and taste perfectly, and somehow every stop has managed to outdo the last. This one, though? This one felt like stepping into another world entirely. The moment we walked in, we just stood there for a second taking it all in. The entire restaurant is wrapped in this romantically dark, eclectic elegance that somehow feels both upscale and comfortably dramatic at the same time. Exposed brick walls, glowing chandeliers hanging overhead like something from an old European theater, deep crimson curtains, antique-style artwork, velvet seating, and richly colored vintage furniture scattered throughout the dining room -- it looked less like a restaurant and more like the private lounge of someone far wealthier and more interesting than us. Frankly, I felt underdressed and emotionally unprepared for the furniture. One seating area had this gorgeous red Victorian-style loveseat paired with marble tables and ornate framed paintings that practically demanded you sip something expensive while discussing literature you haven't actually read. The dining room itself stretched into this moody maze of warm lighting, plush seating, and intimate corners that somehow made the whole place feel luxurious without becoming pretentious. It's the kind of atmosphere where even whispering feels classy. And then the food arrived. Now listen -- the prices initially caused a brief moment of silent marital eye contact. You know the look. The one that says, "Well... this had better be life-changing." Thankfully, by the first bite, the entire conversation was over. Suddenly the menu made perfect sense. Everything tasted boutique and intentionally crafted, like the chef personally judged every ingredient before allowing it onto the plate. The flavors were layered, rich, and unique without trying too hard to be "creative." This wasn't one of those places where they put lavender foam on a potato and call it innovation. This was refined, high-end comfort with artistry behind it. Every dish felt carefully balanced -- deep savory flavors, subtle sweetness where it belonged, textures that actually mattered, and presentation beautiful enough that we all paused before ruining it with our forks. Even the drinks matched the personality of the restaurant perfectly -- sophisticated, unusual, and just theatrical enough to make the experience feel special. The cocktail offerings felt curated instead of copied, with combinations that sounded slightly questionable until you tasted them and immediately understood the assignment. What impressed us most was that despite the upscale atmosphere, nothing felt cold or stiff. The entire experience remained warm, inviting, and genuinely enjoyable instead of trying to intimidate diners into pretending they understand wine notes involving "oak-forward melancholy" or whatever people say at places like this. We absolutely loved it and already decided we'll be returning before leaving the area. Some restaurants serve dinner. Others create an atmosphere you keep thinking about afterward. This place definitely belongs in the second category.

Service feels slow and strangely disengaged, as though customers are interrupting the ambiance simply by ordering. What should feel warm and welcoming instead comes across as performative and inattentive. The food is especially disappointing considering the prices. The sandwiches are remarkably small and underfilled, leaving you wondering whether you accidentally ordered a half portion. The salads are even worse, which is essentially a pile of arugula. For a downtown business surrounded by residents and neighboring businesses, the lack of inclusion for the community and the repeated disregard for basic city noise expectations is difficult to ignore. Ultimately, Flint has several coffee shops that provide better food, better service, and a far more genuine sense of love for the community here.

I loved how every aisle tells a different story -- sport-themed, college-themed, color-themed, Santa suits, personalized ornaments, beautifully detailed nativity scenes, and unique keepsakes you won't find anywhere else. It instantly makes you slow down and smile. You name it, they have it. Every section feels thoughtfully curated. It's not just shopping; it's an experience, you find yourself wandering, looking up, and taking it all in. That said, a few things to keep in mind: the store is huge and can feel overwhelming, it's almost always crowded, and with so many amazing options, it's easy to overspend. Some sections can feel repetitive, and the nonstop Christmas theme might be a bit much if you're not a big holiday fan. Even with these minor points, Bronner's remains a magical place, bringing out childlike joy and reminding you why the holidays feel so special. Clean restrooms and free Wi-Fi were definitely appreciated.

I was excited to try their breakfast dishes because I was looking forward to some Costa Rican style dishes and was excited to see what their flavors were all about especially in this small little town. I ordered the tico sunrise bowl with an extra egg and avocado. When I got the bowl it looked very appealing. When I cut into the egg unfortunately it was a little overcooked so the yolk wasn't as runny as I would have liked. The dish overall was pretty bland and packed some flavor. Even with the chipotle cream which I was excited about the flavor just wasn't there. It tasted a little more like sour cream than chipotle to me. I did add some salt and Pepper to the dish which helped a bit. We ordered some of there homemade salsas hoping it would help but those too tasted very bland and packed any salt or seasonings. Maybe I was just hoping for some food with flavor but that's not their style of cooking? I did order their cafe Miel latte which was very delicious. I very much enjoyed sitting in the cute little cafe and drinking my coffee. I still give it at least 4 stars because it did have a nice little vibe inside and the staff was friendly and service was quick.
