We chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday, expecting a nice dinner, and…read moreunfortunately the experience was incredibly disappointing. I wanted to order one of the bar stool specials and was told that I absolutely could not order it while sitting in the dining room. I understand restaurants have policies, but refusing to serve an item that you are actively serving elsewhere in the same restaurant simply because I was sitting in the dining room felt unnecessarily rigid--especially when we were there celebrating a special occasion. Rather than order something I didn't want, I ended up having mac and cheese as my entire meal. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did nothing to make up for it. Our water was never cold, the carrots and potato salad were both disappointing, and the food took far too long to arrive. For a restaurant that presents itself as a nicer dining experience, I expected much better food, service, and hospitality. Instead, my wife's birthday dinner was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I left frustrated, disappointed, and feeling like we spent our money at the wrong place. We won't be returning.

On a stormy Saturday evening we were passing through BG and stopped for dinner. Highly recommended,…read morewe had to search for the front doors to the establishment. We parked in the back, near the commerce building. A beautiful interior, comfortable seating, nice music playing to relax to. I ordered a cocktail, hooked on a feeling was the name, it was delicious. My husband and I had not eaten all day, we shared a wedge salad. Which is big enough for 2-4 people. I had French onion soup, which I would skip next time. It wasn't bad, just not worth the expense or room in my stomach when there are better things to eat. My husband was intrigued by the carrots, we shared some and they are very unique. Sweet, savory, spicy, all the flavors melt in your mouth. The elk was tender, while the steak had a nice crust and was cooked to order. The Brussels were cooked perfectly, though I would have liked a drizzle of some kind of sauce or oil. The dessert was our favorite part. We both love bread pudding and this was the best version we have had in Kentucky. Thank you for a great evening!

100% would recommend this restaurant!!!!…read more we arrived right at 5pm when they open back up for the day. firstly the atmosphere and customer service is top tier. everyone is super attentive and welcoming. we started off with mixed drinks, with a very wide selection, each drink we tried was perfectly mixed and balanced. we definitely would recommend the french martini and vette city. as for appetizers, we tried the fried pickles and jalapeños. the batter was light but crunchy and flavorful and the house made ranch paired perfectly with them. main courses i would 1000% recommend the chicken rosa. such a delicious dish with a creamy mash potatoes side and perfectly seasoned and sautéed fresh vegetable side. the lemon caper sauce paired with the chicken was stunning. chicken was cooked perfectly and still very juicy. the basil pasta dish was al dente with a rich, herby, and creamy sauce. the crème brûlée was the most delicious dessert to end the meal with a perfectly crunchy sugar top not too charred and the crème part was flavored very nicely with a good vanilla taste. 5/5 WOULD RECOMMEND

The redfish and grits were horrible but my bad for ordering the fish special on a Tuesday. But she wanted us out 57 minutes from the time we came in and got into our car.

He ordered a ribeye and said it was great. I was looking forward to the sides and ordered a small filet mingon. It was delicious! I don't think I have ever finished a serving of steak before this one. It was cooked to perfection, which is rare since I don't like the texture of the meat when it's still pink. The flavor was amazing and I really wished I had ordered the largest one they had. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Bowling Green.

We had been avoiding it like the plague since then, because why would I want to give my money to some jerk off who thinks we're "inbreds" (his words, you can look it up). All that said, we were talking to some friends the other day and they said we should try it again because the seafood selection was fantastic, soooooo we decided to hit it up for our anniversary. We got the oysters, and they were some small guys but out waiter Eli (ask for him) said that they were easy coast even though they typically get west coast. It was nice to have a knowledgeable wait staff that was super friendly and happy to talk through anything with us that we had questions on. We got the steak and sea bass and both were great! Creamed spinach and baked potato as sides were a good call as well. We took some friends with us and one of them got the shrimp and grits, and those grits were LEGIT. Soooooo, if you're looking for a fine dining experience in Bowling Green you could really either do Tony's or Hickory & Oak. In my opinion, Hickory & Oak gets my vote because Josh is one of us and I doubt I'll ever read any articles about him ripping off his employees or calling Kentuckians names, but this experience was so good at Tony's that I might swallow my pride here and there and stop in every once in a while for a delicious steak or some really great bourbon and wine.

We tried this hotel steak and seafood restaurant for the first time and left with mixed feelings…read more The online reservation system had no option to select seating when I booked, nor did anyone mention seating when they called to confirm our reservation, so we requested a booth from the hostess when we arrived. We were told they were fully booked, yet those exact booths sat empty during our entire meal. Fortunately, our waiter was phenomenal--incredibly upbeat, knew the menu well, and provided reasonably quick service despite the high volume of business the evening we visited. While the ambiance strives to match the restaurant's self-representation of being a fine dining steak and seafood establishment, the food fell a bit flat. I ordered the Filet Mignon and my husband ordered the New York strip; both were only a few tallies above what you could get at any decent, everyday restaurant. We also both ordered a lobster tail, which turned out to be a bit tough. I will say they do have the largest shrimp, which we really enjoyed, and their cocktail sauce was quite tasty. Ultimately, management needs to remember that they are still just a hotel restaurant. To truly captivate customers and justify their fine-dining labels and pricing, they need to refine their seating communication, make everyone who walks in feel seen and appreciated, and inject real culinary ambition into the kitchen, taste, and presentation. While we still enjoyed our evening, I personally do not see us returning. With that being said, they seem to still be thriving, which is great. It's just not for us.
