Afton Younger the store manager was amazing, she actually spent time with us until we found the right fit jacket.

Of course, you can bring your own containers, they will weigh the container so you pay only for the product not the container. The store is an odd mixture of what looks like really giftable items and essentially a bunch of reusable containers both empty and already filled. Towards the back, there are enormous containers of dish soap, laundry detergent, hand soap and what have you. You have some choices in terms of scent. All the scents I noticed were from natural sources. I haven't had a chance to fully process the prices but it looks like you pay the full price for the refillable container you purchase plus you pay a price roughly equivalent to going to the supermarket to pick up a similar product for the refill. I have tried the laundry detergent, the dish soap and the liquid hand soap. All of the products work well. The fragrance for the liquid soaps is definitely a cut above your standard supermarket brand. The scents are coming from natural ingredients, they didn't irritate my eczema, induce migraines the way artificial fragrances will do to me, or nauseate me. I didn't have any allergic reactions to any of the products. The dish soap is reasonably gentle but might not be the gentlest one on the market. I went thru a couple of days when I had to wash load after load of pots and I noticed my hands started bleeding. Perhaps it was just all the cooking and perhaps it was overexposure to the soap. I temporarily switched to using rubber gloves and my blue Kirkland brand and the problem has not returned. But for routine use, the Juniper Station version is more pleasant and doesn't normally cause my hands to bleed. Thanks to my allergies I went through a few products reading ingredients labels. Just about all the products use naturally sourced ingredients with safer choices substituting for more problematic chemicals. I did purchase one item intending to give it as a gift. But then I realized unless the gifted has access to a refillable station it's rather pointless. And unless the person wants to refill, it's double pointless. So essentially I purchased a nice refillable container and a large sample of soap instead of the actual concept of refill-ability. But this is a great place to pick up gift worthy refillable containers. I paid more for a similar container decades ago at Target. It lasted 15 or so years before it finally bit the dust. If you're looking for more eco-friendly choices, this store offers some truly spectacular options as long as you live within convenient refill distance.

I pride myself on my nose for bargains and yet I have completely neglected the HomeGoods chain…read more This is my first visit to a HomeGoods store, and after surveying the stock, I must admit I am deeply ashamed of myself. I've been missing out! The store is nicely organized into sections. Although for some of the sections items were rather jumbled, and there was a bit of a rummage needed HomeGoods differs from other discounted stores with their extensive stock of familiar and somewhat higher end brands. Just to pick out something randomly I noticed they had Dr. Bronner's soaps and some Dr. Teals products. Unlike other discounted chains, I've heard of and used both their products in the past and I was pleased with both. They also had brands which I own, the globals and the aroma. The discounts were quite reasonable. But I am a pretty hardened shopper. I have a nearly impenetrable defense which generates a force field which the store must break down possibly using a photon torpedo. Here are some of the factors which must be overcomed 1) Duplication: happens more often than not. 2) practical. 3) I don't have much space. 4) a genuine discount. Not those frou -frou 20% off fake sales. Stay away from stores that raise the original price for sales. Macys I'm looking at you. 5) Must equal or exceeds the quality and performance of what I already have. 6) Must be in one of my areas of interest. That would be cooking, books or for some mysterious reason my sock addiction. 7) All resistance can be eliminated if the item is beautiful. HomeGoods came really, really close to punching through the protective force field, melting my brain and turning me into a complete zombie who would willingly shuffle to the register, precious cargo loaded in my arms, and burning a hole in my credit cards. There is absolutely no doubt if I keep returning to the store, I will be zombified. Now that is what I call a great store!

About a month after receiving the couch, I learned thru another local merchant that Harvest Home offers a 10% discount to locals. Well, I'm a local and did not receive the discount even though the store clerk took my delivery address, a local address. Shortly thereafter I visited the Harvest Home store intending to purchase 2 side chairs. I asked the clerk if Harvest Home did, in fact, offer a 10% locals discount. She said yes. So I asked why I hadn't gotten the discount on on couch I bought. The clerk's response was very unsatisfactory. Her shoulders sunk indicating to me that this issue had come up before. She said you have to ask for the discount at the time of purchase otherwise you don't get it. I reminded her that she took my address for delivery which was clearly a local address. I also asked how was I supposed to know there was a discount? She dug her heels in and kept saying she was sorry but there was nothing she could do because I didn't ask for the discount at the time of purchase. I told her how disappointed I was with her customer service. She cut me short and said she was sorry and gave me her quote for the 2 side chairs. I left in frustration and did not and will not buy the 2 chairs I was going to buy at approximately $3k. This is such poor customer service in my opinion. I missed out on this discount that apparently other locals get but I didn't because I didn't know about it to ask for it. Being a local, I am telling this story to all my friends. I will not be buying the 2 side chairs or anything else from this store.
