Mike was really great at fixing our garage door. He recognized the problem immediately and gave us 2 solutions (either replace the garage controller completely or repair a part of it). He was very good at explaining what was wrong with it. We chose to replace the garage controller and he gave us a very reasonable rate compared to other garage repair companies we contacted. He worked on it very quickly. When he was done, he explained all the features of our new garage controller and even installed the number pad for it for free. He explained to us a common issue regarding the sensors of new controllers and how to fix it, saving us from future emergency calls. He even gave us a one year warranty and hauled away our old garage controller. Throughout the process, he was professional and courteous. Within the last several months our builder installed garage door opener that was installed in August 2012, was beginning to sound like it was straining to lift and lower our garage door. I began researching garage door repair companies on Yelp and selected ODS, based on reviews and the business philosophy of ODS owner Mike as who I would be contacting when the opener failed. Well, the failure happened this past Wednesday afternoon. After hearing a loud metallic sounding noise in our garage, I soon learned that I had the door cables unspooled. I called Mike and explained what happened. Texted him several photos. He advised me he would be able to come out on Thursday afternoon and gave me a price for the conversion of my builder installed Torquemaster spring system to a spring system what offered more cycling life. Mike called me on Thursday afternoon to advise me he was running behind which I appreciated and advised he was going to arrive after his 2 hour ETA window. Mike arrived at approximately 1620 hours with all of the parts needed to convert my spring system even when I forgot to mention the dimensions of my garage door which he readily furnished to me during his repair. The conversion was completed in a very timely manner, shortly before 1730 hours. Mike answered/explained all of my questions in a very friendly demeanor. He told men he had to more repairs to complete after mine. Mike & I discussed annual maintenance for our opener system which I will implement after he told me he serviced the system and will not need any maintenance servicing for two years. After that I will be contacting Mike for any maintenance needs. We also discussed replacing our builder grade installed opener and the new CA statewide law going into effect July 01, 2019 regarding new openers requiring an integrated battery back up. I will be contacting Mike in the near future to replace our opener as well. ODS does offer a AAA discount that I forgot to ask about and there is a service fee if you pay with a CC or debit card. read more

They are hard to find and took him to a second supplier then had to battle a traffic jam caused by an accident. The actual work took less than 20 minutes. The fact that he answers his phone 24/7 was a major selling point, especially since we discovered the broken spring on a Sunday morning. This is the third time I called on ODS. The second time my second garage door wouldn't open. Mike came out and asked if there was a power outage recently. I said yes and he suggested that I call the garage opener company because it may still be under warranty. I did and it was, so they sent out a new chip. I put a surge protector on it and it's been working fine for years. Mike didn't charge me anything for the visit. This time, my primary garage door wouldn't open. The springs broke so i couldn't even manually open the door. Real bummer. Mike was able to come out same day and install upgraded springs. Door works like new again. Another thing I appreciate is every time it was Mike personally that came out.
