This is a long delayed review. My garage collapsed one morning. Motor cable broke. The very top panel tore half way from the rest of the door. My garage door just hang there, either open or closed. I couldn't get my car out. I was referred to Byron because he carried the brand of the garage door. Called Dependable because I had read some really good reviews in the Nextdoor app. He was at our home within an hour and spent the next hour getting il the cable back on, greasing up the door,adjusting everything above and beyond what 'd called them for. My mom called Byron to her house to install a garage opener . When the appointment was set up he told us to measure and that if it's 7ft it would fit, well we measured 7 ft but it still didn't fit. He ended up telling my mom there was an $85 charge for him coming out. He never said that there is going to be a charge for him to come out, but he saw that my mom was older and alone and he tried to take advantage of her. I do not recommend this company as Byron is very unprofessional and rude. Stay away if you don't want to get scammed. read more

We spoke with Byron about having our garage door replaced with one that matched the color of our front door and that was insulated. In addition, we also had our old screw drive opener replaced with a wall mounted opener. Byron was very patient and explained the process and the choices related to the garage door and opener. He was able to order the hardware needed and we had an install date scheduled. It was a very smooth process. On the date of the installation, Byron had a helper and was able to complete the job within a few hours. This included removal of the old opener and old garage door. After installation was complete, he went over the maintenance and the safety features that came along with the sensors with my husband. The previous garage door did not have this. A professional all the way through. We really appreciate the time Byron took in explaining everything from the order to post installation. We have used this garage door many times without any issue and no longer have to deal with the loud screw drive type opener. We cannot recommend Dependable Garage Doors enough. We called around to see if someone could service our garage not broken three years old all we wanted was for it to be serviced check that it was oiled properly and the mechanisms were working correctly for upkeep. The man was rude he was not even there for 15 minutes we didnt even see what oil he used no ladder no tools and he charged us 426.00!!! I think we paid him for gas this was a routine check, non emergency and this is what we were charged i called around and for other servicing business they stated 180.00-250.00 !! When my 20-year-old garage door opener finally gave up the ghost this past weekend, I discovered it had been modified to fit the limited space, (about 9' 5"), in my garage, and no such option was available now. I saw the excellent reviews for Byron and Dependable Garage Doors and called to see if he could help me; he suggested a jack-screw type system that didn't require a rail. He couldn't get to me the following day, but set up an appointment for first thing the day after that. He arrived on time, and within two hours had the new unit very neatly installed and working. After 15 years with the original garage door opener it was time for a new one, I called Byron because a friend had used him and suggested that I give him a try, and I am so glad I did. He's a very friendly person and honest as the day is long. When we talked on the phone he gave me all my options and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. We made an appointment and he showed up when he said he would with all the right equipment, he inspected the springs and told me they need to be replaced which after 15 years I wasn't surprised. I also wanted an opener for my small garage door, and I had a storage rack that was in the way and without hesitation he offered to moved it back at no extra cost. I had the springs on my garage door snap the other day. I called around and got a few estimates and a lot of them were very very high, above $300. I looked and saw Dependable and gave them a call. Byron answered and I explained to him what happened and he offered to be out the same day and he gave me a price that was WAY better than everyone else's.
