My car had a flat tire a while ago just coming out of my garage and I'm pretty certain it was the nail that came out the spring punctured it. I only found one of them on the floor. Art Galimba designed and supervised the installation of my overhead garage door. Art answers the phone almost always. he showed integrity in all ways. The result was an absolutely beautiful and quiet garage door. The motor was changed from a ceiling mount to a wall mount. The prior ugly tracking on the ceiling was removed. A new tracking was placed only on the sides of the garage door. The door was chocolate brown and smooth with a row of satin etched large windows. Another company said they couldn't repair it and that I would have to replace the entire garage door and motor. I called Overhead Door which was the original door manufacturer and they came out within a couple days. The repair tech. (Javier) was a pro! So a couple of months ago I called overhead door for repair work on my garage door. They where nice over the phone and gave me a good and descent price.. but when the repair guy showed up he was some what rude and seemed like he didn't want to be there. So when I told him what I need done. He came out saying that it was going to be almost $200 over the price I was given over the phone when I made the appointment and that lady I talked to didn't know what she was talking about. Plus he didn't want to put the type of spring that the door originally had. And now the door way to heavy to open by hand and it keeps creeping downward slow on it own and won't stay put also when pulling down the door to close it comes down way to fast because of how heavy it is. I call Overhead Door because it was no longer working there front desk told me I would have to pay 140.00 to have a tech come out. I told her you just installed it a few weeks ago there's no warranty on the installation. She said that I would have to call Home Depot rude and no help. I will never use this company again nor recommend them. Home Depot you should remove them from your vendor list. It's not always about the $$$ sometimes it's about a happy customer. We've had Overhead Door service our garage door since moving into our home in 1995. During the 27 year life of the old door they've repaired/replaced a tension spring (2014); cables and rollers (2015); and safety sensors (2018). Ultimately the door had to be replaced altogether because of the wear-and-tear (numerous basketballs, tennis balls, baseballs, and volleyballs thrown against it). We naturally turned to Overhead Door, researched their website and contacted Art who was very helpful in recommending and confirming what would work for us (color, style, etc.). He advised us the new door would take 16 weeks. We were okay with the time frame and ordered in December. Art kept us appraised and when it arrived in April he made a pre-install inspection the day before. The installer, Jesus, was very courteous, efficient, professional and hauled the old door away. We are VERY happy with the new door (price and quality) and it makes our home look "new" again. I am a licensed door company in Salinas, and made a purchase of 3" rollers from Salinas Overhead Door. The rollers were in poor condition and my customers refused to let me use the rollers. Salinas Overhead charges me almost 400% mark up from where I get my rollers and refused to give me a refund stating the sale is final. We have a 2 garage doors under a year old within their warranty time frame and they want to charge us to come to look out see their work of a door that has massive holes in alignment. We purchased a new garage door and opener in April 2012. It has never been quite right. Last week it finally stopped opening. We cannot get our cars in or out of the garage. Called to schedule an appointment and we had to wait 3 days for the scheduled appointment. Then the morning of the appointment we get a call that the tech is sick and can't come until Monday. That is another 4 days! They said they had no other tech to do the work. How do you have a business and someone is sick and you have to wait a week since their employee is sick? This is ridiculous! This is the second time I have used them and I'm happy with their service again. First time they repaired a broken spring. This time I had a broken drive gear. Overhead doors let me use my part that I already ordered for DYI. The technician that came was Connor. He was right on time and very courteous. My experience with this company was horrible! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. VERY VERY unprofessional & horrible customer service. This company does not care about their customers!! I'm only giving them one star because zero star is not an option. For starters, when ordering our door, we were told it would take 2 weeks to deliver. The door was ordered on 08/09/13. More than two weeks later we had not received our door so we called the company & spoke with Rich (the sales person who sold us the door). He apologized for the delay and said it would take 2 more week so we would receive it on 09/10/13. That was extremely frustrating because this would prolong the project by another two weeks and even more so because it took me calling to check the status of the door to find out it wasn't coming in as promised, No one from Overhead Door called us to inform us the order was delayed. On 09/10/13 I called once again to check the status. I spoke with Rich who told me he had no idea where my door was but would look into it and call me back. At this point I was livid! I asked to speak to the owner, Bob, who said he had no idea what the status was on the order and because it was end of day he couldn't help me but would call be back the next day. I NEVER heard back from Bob! /:( Rich called me on 09/11/13 to inform me the Overhead Door Co. in Nebraska never called him back so he still had no status on my order. On 09/12/13 I received a call from Rich who said the door wasn't coming because they did not have the color we ordered. He blamed the Co. in Nebraska and said it wasn't his companies fault because they never knew it wasn't coming in. How is it not their fault? Isn't it his responsibility to keep tabs on this order especially since it's been over a month and the order is still not in?!!! Instead of offering me some other options, maybe a discount on a different door, he said he would just refund our money. Overhead Door refused to refund out money via check so now we are stuck waiting about another week to receive our money & order a new door. And just to make things even worse, when I called and asked to speak to Bob (the owner), I was asked to hold and hung up on instead. I gave the person who answered the phone my name but did anyone try calling me back? NOPE!! I'm over trying to deal with this company! Be smart and save yourself the headache. If I could give zero stars for this company I would. Not only did the sales manager lie to me when she sent out the repair man, when I spoke to the sales manager, she lied as well. I hired this company to come out and replace one garage door, that garage door still does not work. They sent the repair man with two bills, one was supposed to be credited back into my bill if I purchased products from them which I did. When I was told I was going to be charge more than what I was quoted, I called the office and they promised me they would not charge. They lied again, they charge my card hundred and $40 over the 500 I already paid them. Not only does the garage door not work, I am now awaiting them to provide my bank with the sales slip they say I signed. They also lied to my visa dispute company. This company lies cheats and doesn't repair things properly. Very sad this is. The kind of service that is offered in our county. I have never had to write a one star review before. When I purchased my new belt driven garage door opener through a major hardware store, they contracted me with Overhead Door of Salinas. Within three business days, Overhead sent their installer, Jesus, to my home. I was totally impressed with him because from the moment he arrived, he was all work. He sized up what needed to be done from tearing down my old opener to installing my new one. I watched him working and he could not be distracted other than to focus on the job at hand. He's a veteran in this line of work and a true professional. I stayed out of his way and when the job was completed, he helped us with coding the remotes as well as installing a digital opener on the outside next to the garage door. He tested everything to make sure everything worked. And, if we had any problems, we should call him. To say the least, my wife and I are pleased how silent the door operates.
