We accidentally backed into our partially open garage and completely busted it off its track. They immediately came over and were able to readjust the garage door and service it! We are so happy we found Overhead Door because we thought we would have to completely replace the door! read more

Overhead Door - The before - Garage Door Services Near Me - Salinas, California

They installed the spring/roller mount on a non-studded part of the wall and a couple of nails popped out. My car had a flat tire a while ago just coming out of my garage and I'm pretty certain it was the nail that came out the spring punctured it. I only found one of them on the floor. I called the overhead door and the lady on the phone tells me because I didn't get yearly maintenance from them, it's not covered by their warranty. IMO it's a really dishonest business not to correct the faulty installation issue they caused. She also quoted me $$$ per hour to repair the spring installation. Of course, I went with a different garage door repair company. read more

Purchased a new garage door opener through Home Depot where they contract the repair to overhead door in Salinas. Bought opener on Wednesday, install was available on Friday. Repair technician was on time, the office called ahead to let me know he was on the way. They removed the existing opener, installed a new one. Checked my door, replaced the sensors, keypad full service. The installation was flawless, the work was very clean, and wiring was installed super clean in the garage. The technician was very professional and great to talk too. Very pleased with the service received for the installation of the overhead garage door opener. Highly recommend. read more

If we could give 5 stars +, we would. We found our entire interaction with Overhead Door to be positive. From our initial call to schedule, to visit confirmation, to the service performed. Our tech Conner showed up on time, and went straight to work. Our wood doors were badly out of alignment, and he did an outstanding job of replacing parts, oiling and waxing relevant components, checking our motor, and fixing our overall problem (the main door did not close). He wrote up a detailed bill with great documentation, and we found his billing to be very fair. Thank you overhead door for excellent service. We will not hesittae to call again. read more

Called Overhead Door to replace broken spring. I received a next day appointment, tech Conner arrived during stated time window. Work was completed quickly and professionally. I felt the $279 cost was extremely reasonable as online research indicated typical cost of $300-400 for the same work. read more

Conner arrived on time and did a great job. He found the problem that a technician from another company misdiagnosed, fixed it, did a regular service and the charge was the standard for a regular service call. Paul I. read more

We had an issue with our garage door loudly banging when it opened. We discovered a crack in the door. Called Overhead for an estimate as I was assuming the entire door would need replaced. Art came by same day and gave us some good news by letting us know a panel or two could probably just be replaced. Unfortunately, they did not have the matching pieces and could not get them, but he gave us some recommendations. I appreciated not trying to sell us something we did not need. Will definitely call them again if we need anything else. read more

Art Galimba designed and supervised the installation of my overhead garage door. Art answers the phone almost always. he showed integrity in all ways. The result was an absolutely beautiful and quiet garage door. The motor was changed from a ceiling mount to a wall mount. The prior ugly tracking on the ceiling was removed. A new tracking was placed only on the sides of the garage door. The door was chocolate brown and smooth with a row of satin etched large windows. The windows allow for maximum privacy coupled with maximum light. The staff was wonderful. They were on-time and respectful. Respectfully, Sharon Joseph read more

I needed a couple hinges replaced on an older garage door. Definitely an urgent repair because my door would not open or close. Another company said they couldn't repair it and that I would have to replace the entire garage door and motor. I called Overhead Door which was the original door manufacturer and they came out within a couple days. The repair tech. (Javier) was a pro! He did the hinge repair quickly (less than an hour) and did a tune-up, adjusted the tracks and lubrication. Recommend this company for any repair needs!! read more

So a couple of months ago I called overhead door for repair work on my garage door. They where nice over the phone and gave me a good and descent price.. but when the repair guy showed up he was some what rude and seemed like he didn't want to be there. So when I told him what I need done. He came out saying that it was going to be almost $200 over the price I was given over the phone when I made the appointment and that lady I talked to didn't know what she was talking about. Plus he didn't want to put the type of spring that the door originally had. And now the door way to heavy to open by hand and it keeps creeping downward slow on it own and won't stay put also when pulling down the door to close it comes down way to fast because of how heavy it is. Felt like calling them about it but I feel like that ain't going to do anything. Never again will I go or recommend this company to anyone read more

Overhead Door installed our garage door when the house was build almost 25 years ago. We've contacted them several times for maintenance checks since we purchased the home about five years ago from the original owners. We recently had a problem requiring a quick response. They quickly responded with an appointment two days out but promised to call if an appointment opened up sooner. Something opened up and they came quickly on day one. A friendly technician found the problem and fixed it, Five stars for responsive professional service. Thanks. read more

I ordered a garage door opener for Home Depot it was contracted out for Overhead Door to install. Everything worked for about five weeks. I call Overhead Door because it was no longer working there front desk told me I would have to pay 140.00 to have a tech come out. I told her you just installed it a few weeks ago there's no warranty on the installation. She said that I would have to call Home Depot rude and no help. I will never use this company again nor recommend them. Home Depot you should remove them from your vendor list. It's not always about the $$$ sometimes it's about a happy customer. When the customer is happy you have a client for life. Customer service is key it will keep your business thriving. This was the Salinas Office. read more

I am a licensed door company in Salinas, and made a purchase of 3" rollers from Salinas Overhead Door. The rollers were in poor condition and my customers refused to let me use the rollers. Salinas Overhead charges me almost 400% mark up from where I get my rollers and refused to give me a refund stating the sale is final. Very disappointed in their business ethics and will be contacting the better business bureau. Mark up of the percentage they charge me is outrageous and especially for parts in such condition. We've had Overhead Door service our garage door since moving into our home in 1995. During the 27 year life of the old door they've repaired/replaced a tension spring (2014); cables and rollers (2015); and safety sensors (2018). Ultimately the door had to be replaced altogether because of the wear-and-tear (numerous basketballs, tennis balls, baseballs, and volleyballs thrown against it). We naturally turned to Overhead Door, researched their website and contacted Art who was very helpful in recommending and confirming what would work for us (color, style, etc.). He advised us the new door would take 16 weeks. We were okay with the time frame and ordered in December. Art kept us appraised and when it arrived in April he made a pre-install inspection the day before. The installer, Jesus, was very courteous, efficient, professional and hauled the old door away. We are VERY happy with the new door (price and quality) and it makes our home look "new" again. We highly recommend Overhead Door and "5 stars" to Art and Jesus for excellent customer service, followup and professionalism - hard to find good, reliable people! read more

We have used this company for over 20 years. The technicians are awesome, we've been very happy with them. Whomever I spoke to in the front office & I wish I had her name - should not be working with the public. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I think she might be very lazy. It's too bad, because she cost the company a big sale. We had no choice but to take our business elsewhere. Will never go back. read more

So far my interaction with them has lot a lot to be desired in customer service dept. We have a 2 garage doors under a year old within their warranty time frame and they want to charge us to come to look out see their work of a door that has massive holes in alignment. I'm not a fan of point of entry for any wildlife. Mind you we don't really use the doors, so there has been under a hands worth of times its been used. I will give them a new chance to right the wrong and then follow up with BBB. read more

Our rental garage door died. I called one company but they never returned my calls. Overhead door answered their phone and since this was a rental and I was out of town they dealt with my tennant. I'll be back this month and I will be able to see the install and will update this review if there are any issues. read more

My garage door opener had failed and left my cars stuck in the garage. The very helpful scheduler was able to fit me in the very same day and literally just a couple of hours after I initially called for an appointment. Connor was the repairman. We purchased a new garage door and opener in April 2012. It has never been quite right. Last week it finally stopped opening. We cannot get our cars in or out of the garage. Called to schedule an appointment and we had to wait 3 days for the scheduled appointment. Then the morning of the appointment we get a call that the tech is sick and can't come until Monday. That is another 4 days! They said they had no other tech to do the work. How do you have a business and someone is sick and you have to wait a week since their employee is sick? This is ridiculous! The door is so heavy that we can't get the door up or down. Just remember this when thinking about purchasing their product. read more

Over the years, my wood garage door received a lot of TLC and repairs. I have always received excellent service by Overhead Door of Salinas. Conner is really efficient, friendly and professional. Well, after a decade of procrastinating about replacing my garage door, I finally moved forward to replace the original door. I'm so glad that I did! Will M. came out and measured my door to precisely! My door closes completely. Gone is the gap that was there previously by a warped wood door. I never knew replacing a garage door would make such an improvement to a house! Definitely worth it! Thank you Will, Art, Connor, Jesus, Kristina and Christina, and anyone else that I may have left out! read more

This is the second time I have used them and I'm happy with their service again. First time they repaired a broken spring. This time I had a broken drive gear. Overhead doors let me use my part that I already ordered for DYI. The technician that came was Connor. He was right on time and very courteous. He did the repair quickly and even went as far as doing a tune-up adjusting the tracks and doing all the lubrication. I highly recommend this Company! read more

Our garage door is older and has some issues. It needed work. We live in King City, and first of all, they were willing to come and help us. Technician showed up on time, and was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He suggested a repair which was inexpensive and got the door working well again. No big "replace the door" sales pitches, even though it is older and probably should be replaced. Definitely would have them come out again. read more

My experience with this company was horrible! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. VERY VERY unprofessional & horrible customer service. This company does not care about their customers!! I'm only giving them one star because zero star is not an option. For starters, when ordering our door, we were told it would take 2 weeks to deliver. The door was ordered on 08/09/13. More than two weeks later we had not received our door so we called the company & spoke with Rich (the sales person who sold us the door). He apologized for the delay and said it would take 2 more week so we would receive it on 09/10/13. That was extremely frustrating because this would prolong the project by another two weeks and even more so because it took me calling to check the status of the door to find out it wasn't coming in as promised, No one from Overhead Door called us to inform us the order was delayed. On 09/10/13 I called once again to check the status. I spoke with Rich who told me he had no idea where my door was but would look into it and call me back. At this point I was livid! I asked to speak to the owner, Bob, who said he had no idea what the status was on the order and because it was end of day he couldn't help me but would call be back the next day. I NEVER heard back from Bob! /:( Rich called me on 09/11/13 to inform me the Overhead Door Co. in Nebraska never called him back so he still had no status on my order. On 09/12/13 I received a call from Rich who said the door wasn't coming because they did not have the color we ordered. He blamed the Co. in Nebraska and said it wasn't his companies fault because they never knew it wasn't coming in. How is it not their fault? Isn't it his responsibility to keep tabs on this order especially since it's been over a month and the order is still not in?!!! Instead of offering me some other options, maybe a discount on a different door, he said he would just refund our money. Overhead Door refused to refund out money via check so now we are stuck waiting about another week to receive our money & order a new door. And just to make things even worse, when I called and asked to speak to Bob (the owner), I was asked to hold and hung up on instead. I gave the person who answered the phone my name but did anyone try calling me back? NOPE!! I'm over trying to deal with this company! Be smart and save yourself the headache. Go elsewhere for your door!!! read more

If I could give zero stars for this company I would. Not only did the sales manager lie to me when she sent out the repair man, when I spoke to the sales manager, she lied as well. I hired this company to come out and replace one garage door, that garage door still does not work. They sent the repair man with two bills, one was supposed to be credited back into my bill if I purchased products from them which I did. When I was told I was going to be charge more than what I was quoted, I called the office and they promised me they would not charge. They lied again, they charge my card hundred and $40 over the 500 I already paid them. Not only does the garage door not work, I am now awaiting them to provide my bank with the sales slip they say I signed. They also lied to my visa dispute company. This company lies cheats and doesn't repair things properly. Very sad this is. The kind of service that is offered in our county. I have never had to write a one star review before. Terrible terrible. Never use this company. read more

Professional, helpful, efficient, great price - what more can I ask for!?! We used this company several years ago for our home and my husband never forgot how thorough and professional they were. When the door in our rental home quit working he told me to call them again. I can't say enough about how helpful they were in scheduling and then calling me when they were on their way since it was not my residence. Conner ROCKS! He called to let me know he was on his way, he was polite, tidy, fixed the problem and the price was great too. Thank you!! read more

When I purchased my new belt driven garage door opener through a major hardware store, they contracted me with Overhead Door of Salinas. Within three business days, Overhead sent their installer, Jesus, to my home. I was totally impressed with him because from the moment he arrived, he was all work. He sized up what needed to be done from tearing down my old opener to installing my new one. I watched him working and he could not be distracted other than to focus on the job at hand. He's a veteran in this line of work and a true professional. I stayed out of his way and when the job was completed, he helped us with coding the remotes as well as installing a digital opener on the outside next to the garage door. He tested everything to make sure everything worked. And, if we had any problems, we should call him. To say the least, my wife and I are pleased how silent the door operates. We got rid of the very noisy chain driven door. I would highly recommend this company if you're seeking a professional garage door opener installer. read more
