I hope this is adding to my previous review without removing it: after four years now Irene responded. (Maybe a new PR hire?) anyway, I was extremely impressed with Edward. Initially! What happened after the first few visits deteriorated u til everything was broken and they didn't respond because they'd gotten my $ and moved onto other projects. I truly believe Edward is a brilliant passionate creator, but the business is not run well. It's all about personal care and followup, which was absolutely absent. I wish Edward the best, and I hope Irene can help now that she is reaching out to past clients who have been mistreated. read more

Outside Space NYC - Broken leaking pipe they left - Landscaping Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

We worked with Edward and team to install custom planters and bluestone paving on our terrace in April 2019, and we were initially very impressed with Outside Space's prices and professionalism, and thrilled with the finished product. However, since the project was completed, three of the bluestone tiles have cracked down the middle during regular use. The first two times this happened, Edward was very responsive, and sent out his team within a few weeks to replace the broken bluestone tile free of charge. After the second broken tile, Edward assured us that if this were to happen again, he would either replace the entirety of the tiles and/or the subsystem. Unfortunately, a third tile did break this April (2 years after initial installation). I contacted Edward and he set a date for a team to come out to replace it, but cancelled day-of. Despite multiple emails and phone calls, I have not been able to get ahold of Edward or anyone at Outside Space in the weeks since. The broken tiles are not just inconvenient, but dangerous -- because of the nature of the pedestal system, the tiles are set about 6 inches above the bottom of the terrace, and have the potential to cause real injury if someone were to fall through. Whether these broken tiles are a result of a faulty group of bluestone tiles or an error in the subsystem, we're disappointed that Edward is now unwilling to make the situation right. read more

This review is specifically for their garden center on Classon - I was happy to find some plants I was going to pick up at The Sill, but wanting to spend local I came here. I spent $300 on a selection of plants I assumed were healthy. I brought them home and within 2 weeks I noticed they were infested with pests! Thank GOD none of my plants ever touch, but can you imagine if my entire stock would have been infested? One plant had spider mites, and the other had scale - look them up, they are incredibly hard to completely eradicate! I've gone through a month of quarantining the plants and treating them every couple of days to no avail - I'll likely have to pitch them, and my hard earned money at that. I decided to spend some of my money during quarantine on some joy, and it's become a nightmare. The worst part is I reached out to them and got no response. They also mislabeled a bunch of plants, and sold me a pothos as a marble queen and it was a plain old golden pothos which wasn't worth the money considering they're a dime a dozen. Disgraceful and unprofessional. They are not selling healthy plants! If you want to bring home pests that will eradicate your entire stock of plants, then shop here. You've been warned. read more

Love this space so much, an amazing spot for an evening event -socially distant of course- beautiful plants, caring employees... so happy this is in the neighborhood, especially in the time of the need for ALL the plant babies. read more

He did what we asked for, not what he wanted, and he never tried to up-sell us. His team then executed the plan perfectly -- on time, professionally and without a hitch. There was never a single moment when we did not feel entirely confident in Outside Space NYC. And the results speak for themselves: We barely recognize our backyard! 2017- Brooklyn NY The initial response time from OutsideSpace NYC was good. A few emails later, Edward was on site on April 21 to measure and assess. He was warm, attentive and receptive to all the ideas I had. He asked that I give him a few weeks to submit his plan, projected costs and timeline. That request seemed reasonable to me. Weeks went by. I reached out via email if he had made any progress on the plans. He last replied on May 18 that he would have something over to me by the weekend. I never heard back from him. If he didn't want to take on my project or suddenly became overbooked, some early and honest communication would have been appreciated. I lost all that precious time. I never got to see a completed project. I needed to start my search again for another landscape company. read more

This is a really cool outdoor spot that's great for hosting outdoor parties. A friend hosted her 40th birthday here and it was much cooler than I imagined it would be. There's a good amount of available street parking around this area which worked out well for myself and a few other attendees. There's a garden area with rocks strewn instead of grass, for congregating and a covered dance floor/additional congregation area with benches and tables for food setup. There's also shelves and hooks for hanging/setting up decorations and balloons. The DJ set himself up nicely in a corner under the covered area which had electricity for plugging in his equipment. There's 2 grills and a decent port-o- potty for your use a well as a bar with shelving for storing bottles of spirits. My suggestions would be to bring bug repellant such a citronella candles and tiki torches. I'm not the one who booked the place so I'm not sure what it costs to rent the space but if you're lacking a yard or a decent size outdoor space this is a good place. There's also a liquor store around the corner on Myrtle Ave amongst some bars, restaurants, delis and general store. read more

We engaged Outside Space to redo our backyard in Brooklyn and they did a great job all around. We interviewed several contractors- one never gave us an estimate, a couple of others made the job seem much more complicated and lengthy than it needed to be (read much more expensive!). Edward's team was very reliable, professional, courteous, and efficient. Edward was also very responsive and accommodating to changes to the job that we wanted after the project had started - and the cost of the change orders was also very fair. They finished the entire job on time and within the budget. Lastly, we were very impressed with his willingness to return and make some minor adjustments after the job was completed and paid in full. We would recommend Outside Space without reservation to anyone who needs a landscaping architect. read more
