Watch out everyone. Alexandra Berkowitz is a fraudster. She is the sole owner of Sungold Design Group in NYC. She is also the sole owner of Sweet Clover Landscapes in Charlotte, NC. As the sole owner and LLCs, earnings are 100% pass through. This has been verified through publicly available documents on state websites.
She stole $8438 from me in 2018 by refusing to follow through on the agreement and return the money. She puts on a good show -- "following through" with providing landscaping plans per agreement, collected the money, set up an install date. But that's where it ends.
First, she said she is happy to take credit card for payment. Then she says she can't get the money from the credit card processor, so asks for a check.
Two-three days before the install date, she has to cancel due to her mother's health and postpone til next spring. She says I will be the first install next spring. I immediately asked for my deposit back. She says she can't b/c the deposit has already been spent on plant purchase, etc.
As the spring approaches, she has one excuse after another about not being able to commit to a date. Running out of excuses, she states that she's out of town and will let me know when she returns. Then shuts down communications.
She also opens up businesses in NY and NC using basically UPS box addresses, so it's very difficult to physically track her down. And uses third party affiliations to try to build legitimacy.
With hindsight, her intention was to steal from me from the beginning. She knew exactly what she was doing -- she was going to shut down her NY business and run this scam through the NY business to make it more challenging for consumers to take her to court.
I want to make sure that all consumers are aware of her scamming.
