We are just working in the area and stopped to try it for our first time. The food was very fresh and flavorful. You order upfront at counter and they will bring your food to the table. read more

Outlaws is right Simone should be locked up for this mess this is the driest more flavorless bbq I've ever eaten pulled pork brisket ribs and not even salt and pepper no clue what's the weather. The only thing you gave it any flavor with the barbecue sauce but it's not that weird. The meat was dry as a desert. I paid $25 for this plate and didn't even even half of it. it was trash worthy. read more

"Best BBQ" has to be the some sort of inside joke. I was driving through town about to stop at canes and I saw this place and thought I'd give it a try... big mistake. I ordered the brisket platter, and every single item was terrible. The brisket was dry, tough, and completely flavorless. The mac and cheese tasted like overcooked plain noodles with the tiniest hint of cheese--boxed Easy Mac is better. The fries were soggy, bland, and not even salted. The actual bbq sauce was pretty decent but that's useless if what it's trying to complement is garbage. I've had frozen BBQ meals from Walmart that were miles ahead of this. Charging restaurant prices for "food" this bad is embarrassing. If this is what you call the best BBQ, I'd hate to see the worst. I won't be back. I can't speak to the service or ambiance as I went in the drive through. read more

I ordered through DoorDash. As a certified KCBS BBQ judge (and someone who admittedly takes BBQ way too seriously), I know seasoning styles can vary from state to state--but properly cooked meat is universal. If it's cooked right, I'm usually pretty forgiving. I ordered the two-meat plate and asked for fatty brisket (the point), but didn't get a single piece. Instead, I got lean brisket--good portion, cooked decent, but not what I asked for. The plate came with two ribs. They were "fall off the bone," which usually means overcooked. Luckily, they weren't too far gone, but the flavor was just okay. To top it off, the rest of my order was forgotten. read more

This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever had. I can through the drive through pulled up to the speaker waited 30 minutes at the drive thru just for them to close at 10 and me get no food and no attempts were made to tell me that they are not accepting orders read more

Outlaws use to have the best bbq around. But over the past few years their quality and service has gone down. Brisket is tough. Service is very slow. In the past you got most of your food while in line ordering. Now you might have to wait 10-15 minutes. And you can forget getting somebody on the phone to place an order to go. read more

We ordered a chopped baker 2 of them. First potatoes were COLD, wouldn't even melt butter. 2 still wasn't any better. I use to love them, but will not ho back. read more

Visiting from California. I ordered the ribs and links. Food was absolutely fire Service was even better. Food came out in under 5 min.

Ate at Outlaw BBQ for the first time in 23 years today. It was fabulous! My son got a burger, my daughter got chicken bites, my wife got the Chopped Brisket Sandwich and I got the Half Chicken Plate and added a Sausage link. The chicken was super tender and juicy, the sausage was good, maybe a little dry for me, but still good! That's what sauce is for. The Fried Okra was super crispy and tasted GREAT...easily one of the best sides I've had at a restaurant, and the Green Beans, were great...plenty of flavor from bacon and bits of sausage in it. Everyone enjoyed their food. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is rustic and smells amazing! Want to come back soon for certain! read more

Outlaw's Barbecue - Outlaws Special - Barbeque Near Me - Alexandria, Louisiana

Outlaw's is a good place for lunch. One of the first BBQ restaurants I remember from my childhood was Luther's in Marrero, LA. If Outlaw's wasn't once a Luther's, I would be shocked. The layout is exactly the same. On a trip across Louisiana for work, I arrived in the area around lunchtime. Since BBQ is my go-to food, I searched Yelp and this is what I found. Here is how it works; order at the counter, get a number and grab a seat. While you wait you can make yourself a bowl of onions and pickles and fix your drink (always make a bowl of onions and pickles). Once the food is ready it will be brought to the table. Since I have only been once I can only comment on their brisket. While I would have preferred thicker slices, the meat was very smoky and had a great taste. I didn't expect legit BBQ, but I got it. The side salad was pretty standard and nothing to write home about. I will be back the next time I am in the area. If you are looking for a quick BBQ lunch, you should try Outlaws. read more

Staff was welcoming and kind. The service they provided was quick. Food was delicious!

Outlaws Barbecue is a solid choice if you're looking for classic, no-frills barbecue. The brisket was pretty good, with a nice bark, though it could have been a little more moist. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a good value for a casual meal. Overall, Outlaws Barbecue is a reliable spot for satisfying your barbecue cravings. It's not fancy, but it's good, honest food that will leave you full and happy. read more

Ground brisket is not, nor should it ever be considered as, chopped brisket. Employee stretching out in a booth napping at 2:30.

Pull apart brisket was delicious. Mac and cheese was top notch I would absolutely recommend this to all the friends.

I had the phillys cheese steak sandwich. The smoke was amazing!! The bun was soft and the bbq sauce that goes with it is delicious and I don't do bbq sauce. Been there three times in 2 weeks!!! read more

Stopped in on my way home for some lunch. Place looks like an old Colters or Luthers BBQ that's been converted. I Got the 2 rib plate which was more than enough for me. Ribs were good nice flavor but could have been a little more "fall of the bone". BBQ sauces were good too. The baked beans and potato salad were ok for me but I would have liked a little more something too them. It's nice this restaurant is open for indoor dining since I past over 3 other places to eat since the lobbies were closed, but it would have been nice to see some better adherence to the COVID rules by the customers and staff when it comes to masks. I'm just as tired and frustrated by it too but at least make an effort rather than a blatant disregard too it. read more

We were driving through and wanted to try something different. Overall they have lots to choose from and it smelled like an authentic BBQ place but we were disappointed. There is little to no flavor and the portions were too small for how much you pay. Sub-pare food with little flavor, we won't have to go back. read more

Food was tasty, i got the starter wings, a side of fried okra and mac and cheese loves all the food the okra was a little dry though. The service was great we were in a big party and it took longer to order than to get the food although the ordering process was still super fast. The ambiance is great, great music at a perfect volume, and it smells like delicious brisket. read more

Completely disappointed with the food i purchased. I'm in town visiting from Chesapeake Va and decided to stop by being that i haven't had it in years. I ordered the two meat plate(brisket/pulled pork) it was extremely dry and tasteless. The macaroni was also nasty as well. read more

We were in Alexandria shopping for the day and ended up at Outlaws (first time). It was clean and the service was friendly and quick. The food was good. I got the BBQ and my husband got a burger. I'd go back, but it wasn't the best I've ever had (I'm from Texas and have ridiculously high standards). The one thing that I would have changed is their potato casserole was cold. I'm sure they would have fixed it if I asked. Just didn't. Again, if you are looking for a solid BBQ place, this is a good choice read more

Very horrible experience tonight my wife went in to buy a brisket baked potato with no sour cream. She check the potato before she left and it was chicken so when she asked for the beef one instead of the chicken, the girl got mad and the person who had to redo the potato was saying maybe she needs to cook at home that's highly disrespectful. This restaurant will not get another damn dime for me or my wife just rude disrespectful people. read more

Well, we finally returned! I was very anxious for our follow up to what would sure be some good food. My Sundance burger was amazing and full of flavor. The jack cheese left me with a hint of something good. My wife's Brisket Baker potato was good and full of meat and fixings. The onion ring loaf was just that...a loaf of onion rings, all kinda stuck together, soft and mushy. I wasn't impressed. Our server must have been having a bad day. He had an attitude that stretched from Alexandria to Chickasaw, LA (look it up). When I asked him to find me a bar-be-que sauce bottle that was clean, you woulda sworn I asked him to push an 18-wheeler up a hill...with his huffing and puffing. In a nutshell, the food hits the mark. There are so many little things that could make Outlaw's FANTASTIC instead of okay. read more

My sister and I both have Celiac disease and was in town looking for BBQ. We asked an employee about gluten content. He didn't know what gluten was but went to ask a manager. When he came back, he said the manager said "just assume that everything has gluten in it". I've been places where they couldn't guarantee gluten free due to cross contamination but never to a place that couldn't be confident of their ingredients on ANYTHING. We obviously left but, even without my gluten issues, I wouldn't eat here with confidence. read more
